A.J.
Eh, I've always had a soft spot for the old Citroën DS. I also really like the BMW Isetta Bubble Car, and the Saab 92. Quirky cars liked by a quirky person!

ParkTrips
For me, European styling and handling + Japanese reliability + American muscle = the perfect car. meh, Japanese reliability is overrated. Reliability in general is overrated these days. As is fuel economy. GIVE ME MORE POWER AND LESS WEIGHT
scbt
@beemerboy not as bad as a car i saw that had some plain 2x4's bolted to the trunk that looked vaguely like a spoiler. They didn't even bother to paint it XD
STR8FXXXINEDGE
That's funny! I remember back in the day, people used to steal the hood ornaments off of Mercedes and Cadillac's all the time and wear them on a necklace. Welcome to the hood! PSiRockin
I've seen a Toyota with a Jaguar hood ornament on it...
Cameron
Saw this one morning while driving to work earlier this year. The badge in the center of the trunk-lid is for Loeber Motors, a big Merc dealer in Chicago. There is also (and I swear I'm not making this up) a Mercedes emblem on the front of the hood. A.J.
New Lincoln MKZZZZzzzzzz... Seems more like a vehicle made to coddle you to sleep than actually drive. It does look really comfortable inside. The instrument panel looks too much like the Ford Fusion, though, in my opinion...
Real
Always hated their grill/front end designs. Props though for using many ZZzzzZzzzzzzz.
Cameron
Ferdinand Porsche (designer of the 911) died yesterday
ParkTrips
^ I heard Porsche is going to design the next 911 like the ones he designed, as a throwback sort of tribute! Nothing like new wheels to change the looks of your car! Before: After:
Real
Yup. Great choice, those are hot rims man. http://www.topgear.com/uk/photos/pictures-the-new-srt-viper-gts-2012-04-04 How hot is this car? Its got the curves of the original Vipers. The massive V10. Ferrari inspired interior AND handling (As evidenced by the X Brace over the engine and significant upgrades to suspension). I am VERY excited to see if this returns the Viper to its spot amongst the conversation when we talk about some of the best cars in the world. BaMiTsPaT
^I'm definitely excited about the new Viper. I like that they didn't stray too far from the previous model's styling. I really hope it can outshine the ZR1. All we need now is a new Ford GT to really get the American supercar party re-started!
TPDave
Joe, those are almost GTO wheels, NICE! I saw some nice MINI alloys the other day, slimline but not so much that you can see the crappy "innards" of the wheel arches. Trying hard to resist spending pointless money right now! ParkTrips
Thanks Dave! You probably won't see much more from me in terms of modifications (though I say that now, and everyone says its addictive once you start) but I always felt the stock wheels were garbage Colin, that is not a bad habit if you ask me! What are the plans for this one? If you don't mind, how much did it cost? I've been somewhat considering buying a new car to drive daily - I was thinking a new VW but I wouldn't mind one that I could easily work on to learn more about how cars work (and what to do when they don't!) and possibly learn how to race in something that I don't have a loan on
TheStig
^I think 4 cars is my limit, I need to get rid of one but it's sort of hard to right now. The Miata is cheap as hell to drive, Norm is my baby, the 190E has been in my family and was willed to me, and now this one. Not really sure what the plan is with it right now, but my mom might drive it for a bit and see how she likes it. Her E320 needs a few small things done, so this will replace it while I service it. Short back story: It was my uncles, a 1991 300E that he bought new. Currently has 81 clicks on the clock, but he bought a new Infinity and this decided to blow a head gasket about a month ago. He had it fixed, and basically gave it to me. You can find them in this shape for $2500 to $5000 depending on miles, condition, and service history. If you want a car to DD that's cheap, but also really fun when it needs to be, find yourself a Miata. I bought mine because it was going to be cheap transport, but this car is pretty awesome. Puts a smile on my face when it needs to, and it's incredibly inexpensive. You can find turbo'd ones for cheap, and 250hp in a 2100 pound car is more that enough. The W124 chassis Mercedes is rock solid, though it will have it's issues as even the newest ones are 17 years old. My mom has a 1994 E320 station wagon that I more or less made her get, and she loves it. But if you want a car to learn on, specifically a Mercedes, I would say go with a w124. Here are a few more pictures...
Real
wow only 81k on it? Thats kinda low. Should be able to double that with good maintenance easily. And I almost got a Miata but didnt really want the RWD around Northwest Ohio. This last winter wasnt bad but I still didnt want to deal with it when winter did get nuts. But yea, a turbo'd miata would be PLENTY of power. My WRX is 3100lbs at 265 and its QUITE quick. So I can imagine losing 900lbs would just make that a very brisk little driver. Cameron
I rolled over to 100,000 miles on Tuesday last week .. such an accomplishment! I've never had a car with this many miles (or for this long), but this one is just so great that I still haven't got the wandering eye.. It's a 2004 VW R32, which I bought in January 2006 when it was just an 11,000 mile baby! Cameron.
BeemerBoy
"The motorcycle inspired Veloster feels quick and nimble." - Hyundai's website "As compared to a sloth?" - Scott B. I got to drive one yesterday, and while I really love the looks of the car, it's just a shame there's nothing under the hood worth writing home about. I hear it gets great gas mileage though....so yeah. EDIT: Okay, this sounds (and looks) a little better...
cprocks22
^I've never been a huge fan of Hyundai's in the past, but that looks pretty sweet. Speaking of looking pretty sweet, these were on campus on Friday. I spent about an hour just walking around and staring in awe. The Ferrari Owners Club of Ohio came to Purdue and brought some toys. BeemerBoy
The Ferrari Owners Club of Ohio came to Purdue and brought some toys. Nice. I know the guy who, chances are, probably detailed a good percentage of those cars. He works in Columbus, and has Ferraris shipped to him from all over the country. Thanks for posting those beauties. This thread can never have too many F-cars.
Hilltopper39
I'm not really a "car guy" but the subject is somewhat interesting to me and I do enjoy reading this thread from time to time as a closet car fan. Anyways, I stumbled across this story and thought it was pretty funny. As a native Kentuckian I'm slightly offended at the way this guy insults my state, but considering the offense took place in Louisville I'm going to assume the perpetrator was actually from Indiana and his insults were false accusations. The Moral of the story is don't park your Lambo in Louisville because it might get pissed on by someone from Indiana...... In Kentucky, your Lamborghini might get pissed on
BeemerBoy
^ That site is generally full of pretentious Lambo owner dbags and wannabe pretentious Lambo owner dbags, so the story seems legit....but still amusing nonetheless. It was rather refreshing/surprising that he actually refrained from handing out a beatdown. I guess you can score it Snowball - 1, Hell -
