gerd.muller Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Too bad you didn't get an r8 for a rental . Oh yes, an R8 would be a real nice rental, the only problem is, I needed a waggon or a SUV, because we use that car for the company and when something went out, you have to go to the grocery-wholesale or you have to obtain other stuff like flowers or that. ...and the second reason for a car with a huge trunk: My wife needs really much space in the car when she and her sister go shopping (Those women won´t believe me that shopping isn´t any kind of high performance sport, where you can win a gold medal when you come home with tons of stuffed shopping bags and a 6 feet long credit card statement... ).
TheStig Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Oh god! Poor Q7! Sorry to see that, that is a beast of a car too. Which engine did you have in it? The 4.2? Even if it's de-tuned on the Q7, it still sounds amazing. You should make a super go-kart out of it!

No, it´s "only" the 3,6L FSI quattro with 280 hp, but that´s enough! The 4,2L FSI is a little bit too thirsty for a everydays car. But the 3,6L engine is very powerful to and very smooth and easy to drive, thanks to "Tiptronic". You should make a super go-kart out of it! ...what a nice idea!
Speeddeamon128 Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Yesterday I went to my local auto mall & sat in the new Corvette. Is is an awesome car!
spaceace12 Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 I am in love! Found a motorcycle I can afford!
gerd.muller Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 I am in love! Found a motorcycle I can afford! Congrats! The Honda Shawdow 1100 is a nice bike, smooth to drive but powerful when it´s needed. Like I posted in the Bikers thread, it´s a moderate price, sure it would be nice if he would go down with the price a little bit more. Hope, you have a lot of fun with that Motorbike, Gerd
gerd.muller Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 ...a free Autobahn + Audi RS6 + me ... =
Speeddeamon128 Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 My friend is trading his 2002 V6 Camaro for a 1997 Pontiac Firebird!
ParkTrips Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 I couldn't help but think "America sucks" when I saw a courtesy car from a local Audi dealership on the road yesterday. It wasn't an RS6, rather, an A3.. lame!
gerd.muller Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 ^ My Audi-Dealer has also A3´s for rental. The thing we got the little rocket is because of the insurance. The Insurance company of the Corolla-Driver, that crashed into our Q7, is obliged to pay for a rental car in the same Price Range. That´s law in Germany. ...so, If I would have driven an A3, and someone crashed it, I would also get only a A3 for rental, you see, Germany is lame, too.
ebl Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 "The Insurance company of the Corolla-Driver, that crashed into our Q7, is obliged to pay for a rental car in the same Price Range. That would mean if someone hit my CR-V, I'd get to drive a CR-V or comparable car instead of some pansy Chevy Cavalier that can't even get out of its own way. Eric

I don't think such a thing exists here. insurance agencies don't seem to care. Germany is certainly not lame!
gerd.muller Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 ^ + ^^ Wonder, oh wonder! Here in Germany you can read almost everyday about horrible high fines someone have to pay because of minimal lawsuits(remember Stella Liebeck, who received 2,9 Million Dollars in 1992 because her McDonalds Coffee was to hot???)! see: http://www.stellaawards.com/ And you are tryin´to tell me, there isn´t any kind of law that settles the classification of your rental car in an accident case? That´s kind of funny!!!
Speeddeamon128 Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Tomorrow my parents are trading our leased 2005 Cadillac Escalade to buy a 2009 Saturn Outlook. I'm going to miss that Escalade Oh well I have my Dodge to drive so it won't effect me.
TPDave Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 I went to the Geneva motor show today, fantastic day out! It was great to touch base with a little hobby of mine that I've been out of for a bit. Any european car geeks, it's definitely worth the trip I would do a PTR but firstly it would suck and secondly I haven't quite got the hang of this whole camera thing yet! Dave
ebl Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 "I haven't quite got the hang of this whole camera thing yet!" (TPDave) 1. Aim at subject, push button down halfway. 2. Wait about three seconds. 3. Push button down the rest of the way. 4. Look at display to verify that desired image is captured. 5. Move on to next picture. Hope I've helped... Eric
BeemerBoy Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 ^^ Speaking of that... The Ferrari 599XX. Basically a street legal race car. Remember, my birthday is coming up soon, folks. I expect this in my driveway on Cinco de Mayo. I could do without the "3" on the door, but that's a minor detail, really.
ebl Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 "I could do without the "3" on the door, but that's a minor detail, really." (BeemerBoy) Keep it on there. That'll remind you of your gas mileage. Eric
BeemerBoy Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 ^ Good point. Here's a look at a prototype cop car made by cops, for cops. The only problem I see...no donut holders. It supposedly will cost about $50,000, and has been designed by cops to address every annoyance involved with driving converted family sedans that most, if not all precincts currently use. The Carbon Motors E7. Hi, Rich.
sfne2005 Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 $50,000! Ugh, no way we are gonna get one of those when we could get two regular one.
THE ONE Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Here are our cars, we have a 2003 Dodge Neon SXT with 97,000 miles, and a 2007 Chevy Equinox LT AWD with 32,000 miles. Our 2003 Dodge Neon SXT. Our 2007 Chevy Equinox LT.
AviatorCoaster Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 ^ I absolutely love that car. My father is buying me one as a graduation present. My dream car would be something nerdy like a VW yellow bus. The curtains on the windows are great!
gerd.muller Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 ^^ + ^ ...they try to sell that car here in Germany but are not very successful. But here, they call it Daihatsu "Scion Materia", even if most people call it "Shoe-Box" or "Shopping Cart" and try hard not to get caught on camera with it....
