The topic says it all...

Me, I believe there is life out there. I mean, it NEVER ends. It makes my brain hurt just thinking about it. And for U.F.O's, I just don't know. It's all just weird. The unknown creeps me out!

This isn't about religion or stats, just what YOU believe. Don't make this into a flame war.

And if this has already been posted, sorry.

Whenever life gets you down Mrs. Brown,

And things seem hard or tough,

And people are stupid, obnoxious or daft,

And you feel like you've had quite enoughhhhhhhhh!

Just remember that you're standing on a planet that's evolving,

And revolving at nine hundred miles an hour,

That's orbiting at nineteen miles a second, so it's reckoned,

A sun that is the source of all our power.

The sun and you and me and all the stars that we can see

Are moving at a million miles a day

In an outer spiral arm, at forty thousand miles an hour,

Of the galaxy we call the 'Milky Way'.

Our galaxy itself contains a hundred billion stars.

It's a hundred thousand light years side to side.

It bulges in the middle, sixteen thousand light years thick,

But out by us, it's just three thousand light years wide.

We're thirty thousand light years from galactic central point.

We go 'round every two hundred million years,

And our galaxy is only one of millions of billions

In this amazing and expanding universe.

The universe itself keeps on expanding and expanding

In all of the directions it can whizz

As fast as it can go, at the speed of light, you know,

Twelve million miles a minute, and that's the fastest speed there is.

So remember, when you're feeling very small and insecure,

How amazingly unlikely is your birth,

And pray that there's intelligent life somewhere up in space,

'Cause there's bugger all down here on Earth.

Lol...I love that song.

Yes, I think that there is some form of life out in the universe. I couldn't guess as to what though.

Well I hope that there are some additional forms of intelligent life in the Universe, other than our own.

But of course there is no proof...Just speculation.

Just like there is no proof of an afterlife...Just speculation.

I think people like to believe in things like UFO's because we live on an amazing planet, with incredible diversity in the form of People/Animals/Plant Life Etc...that it's hard to imagine that life as it exists here couldn't also exist elsewhere.

Personally I hope it does, so bring on the visitors!!!

ARROWFNAMAN: Monty Python rocks!

Yeah, i think there's Ufo's. I believe this because i have no reason not to.

I don't believe we are the only people capable of space travel.

Do i think we've been visited? Sure. Just because I've never been to Texas doesn't mean I couldn't get there if i wanted or needed to.

We are a small fish in a large ocean.

I believe that there must be life out there somewhere (although it DOES end somewhere, if it started from something it has to end, even if it's completely curved). For us to believe we are the only life in this universe is extremely arrogant.

I don't believe that UFO's are necessarily alien, the very definition of it just means they are unknown, not alien. I think most spotted UFO's will just either be misrecognised military or civilian craft or test flights for new craft.

However some odd occurrences like the mass UFO sightings in Mexico and elsewhere are hard to explain rationally.

If aliens exist (and I'm sure they do in some form of life or other) would they REALLY visit Earth ? If they are that far advanced that they could travel such vast distances via wormholes/bending space or however they do, I REALLY doubt they'd find anything of note on this little planet of ours!

Well, pucechan, to answer your question about studying us on Earth, why do we study civilizations of say, Ants? They don't really pertain to civilization as humans, so why do it? We're curious, and I'm sure any Alien race who would find Earth would like to study it as well. Either study us or make a sitcom about us.

As for believing in them, yes I do. I kind of proclaim myself a mini "expert" in these subjects because I listen to Coast To Coast AM a lot, which deals in these types of things, the paranormal. I believe that there are aliens out there somewhere, and I also believe that they have visited us. Sure, people make stuff up and mistake regular occurances for Alien Spacecraft, but not all of them can be fake. The Phoenix Lights, Mexico City occurances, those types of sightings by multiple people multiple nights are hard to explain. Even if the explanation is "Balloons with flashlights in them." ........right........

For a start, I've been interested in UFO's since I was a little kid and have been a member of BUFORA (British UFO Research Association and yes the website looks very crap ) for the last 13 years so I've read a fair chunk of reports on UFO's and UFO related incidents, ranging from abduction all the way through to remote viewing. I was also a regular subscriber to the Fortean Times and a couple of British UFO magazines until about 2002 as well as reading quite a few books on the subject, especially during my college years. So I'd classify myself as a [sarcasm]"Slightly Bigger than Mini-Expert"[/sarcasm] too based on more than just RADIO programmes.

I have always believed in alien life, and heck in my post above I said that there are plenty of occurences that are really difficult if not impossible to explain away (including the Mexico mass sightings). But 99% of UFO occurrences are completely explainable, that still makes that 1% REALLY REALLY interesting.

As for alien life visiting us and watching us like "ants" (which also aren't classed as a civilisation), lots of people have used that analogy and I find that really unlikely. With all the planets that could potentially hold life, I'm sure there are FAR more interesting planets to watch than our Earth.

To believe we have ANY significance in this huge universe is misguided and ultimately arrogant. The human race isn't important in the big scheme of things.

People just like to think of humanity as being important when we really aren't.
