I love your Expedition series the way it is. I enjoy being able to see previews of the full POV of the ride on disk 1 and seeing the full ride on disk 2. I would like to see more of your and other TPR trip members opinions on the coasters that you ride and of the parks in general. Like if the park was worth visiting or maybe some tips (i.e. the coaster was smoother towards the front of the train; things of that nature). Thanks

I watch both religiously. I enjoy the antics of the "music videos" (as well as the sometimes strange selection of music) and that can also help me decide what to tackle on an overseas trip (since Australia's a bloody long way from everything). I do like in these videos the sense of scale from aerial or whatever shots of the coasters and also appreciate some footage of the dark/cinematic rides.

I enormously appreciate the raw coaster footage of the coasters as well though, particularly of the coasters I have personally been on, since it helps to give friends and family some semblance of the ride.

I and my son planned our first States trip last year (mid-point Cedar Point passing through Hawaii, Las Vegas, Orlando (Disney/Universal/Busch Gardens), New York and Japan (Nagoya/Tokyo) based a lot on the contents of some of these discs.

(We own all the TPR DVDs and the 2 RAW DVDs)

I watch both the expedition and the footage DVDs equally, but for entirely different purposes.

The expedition DVDs give a great feel for a particular park, whereas the footage gives a great feel for what specifically to expect from the coasters in any given park.

We'll basically use the expedition DVDs to decide whether or not to visit a park and then zoom in on specifics with the coaster footage.

As far as RAW goes, I find that I miss the music (but still really like the RAW DVDs).

Make the fotage in 16/9 format please, for the rest everything is ok, maybe sometimes more dark rides

Starting with Volume 12, all TPR DVDs will be in 16:9 format....and Volume 12 may have a few more dark rides on it.

Who here would be interested in a "Dark Rides of the World" DVD?

I watch both discs, they each have their own special charms. If I end up watching one more, it would probably be the footage disc - it's kinda more like coaster porn. But I'm definitely a fan of both discs and I certainly wouldn't want to lose either of them.

And yeah, I'm totally down with a dark ride DVD! Next to coasters, dark rides are my favorite things in the park.

This is probably an impossibility, but any chance of some historical dark ride footage? When I grew up in Seattle, there was this awesome dark ride called "Flight To Mars" at the Seattle Center Fun Forest. I loved that ride. When they razed it in the 90's to make way for the EMP museum, it broke my heart. Anyhow, such footage may not even exist, but I thought I'd throw that out there just the same.

Here's a thought I'll throw out there. What I'd REALLY like to see;

A map of the world with all theme parks on it.

The ability to zoom in to get a close up of the parks in an area to allow for intelligent trip planning. (eg "I'm going to San Antonio, Texas - what parks are in that area?")

Within each individual park, a list of rides + POV videos for all the rides.

And...the ability to keep track of the rides you've been on/review the rides.

Basically, a combination of RCDB, TPR and CoasterFanatics with a couple of extra features.

Mmmmm. Sweeet.

Your poll has a flaw in that your only 3 questions have already assumed that you have no viewers like myself who LOVE the footage discs and totally couldn't care less about the rest of the bad music and bad park behavior that most of the expedition discs show. They usually wind up in the trash even if I can stomach 1 full viewing. I've been buying your discs every year since you began and immensely enjoy and appreciate the footage only and the improvements you've made over the years in getting steadier and higher quality POV footage. They provide not only fantastic memories of great coasters ridden, but also offer up exciting teases of coasters we've just GOT to go ride. [/b]

I always watch both discs when I first get the dvd, though overall I'd say I watch the expedition disc a lot more. If there's a ride I'm particuarly interested in then I will watch it more often but rarely do I play the whole footage disc, where as with the expedition disc I will watch that from start to finish every time.

I do really like how the dvds are now though, even if I watch the expedition part more. It's certainly nice to have the footage disc but I guess I see it as more of a bonus.

The dark ride dvd wouldn't be something I'd be interested in personally, however I'm sure there's plenty who would be.

Looking forward to volume 12.

Definitely! Who wouldn't want the chance to relive Bobbejaanland's "El Paso Express"?

When I first started purchasing the TPR DVDs, I only watched the first disc, as it contained the Music Videos, but later on I realized that there was more to the package.

I think it was with Volume 7 that I started watching the accompanying discs, and since then I have been watching them as much as I do the primary discs. I even went back to Volume 1-6 and watched all of their extra DVDs as well.

To me, the primary disc is a perfect show of the TPR "experience" and fun that goes with it. But, for the coaster lover that prefers to see his footage of a park together, with music and still with some people, I find that the second disc still offers plenty to enjoy. I still love Coasters in the Raw, but I definitely like having some sort of music in the background as well as personal touches throughout the video to make it more colorful.

Thank you to everyone for your response! If you haven't voted yet, please do so, even though I think I know the answer on the "footage" discs.

It's always good to get feedback on what we produce that way before we consider making any changes to something we have enough information to make the right decision.

In this case I think the Footage disc will remain the same for Volume 12 and future volumes.

Your poll has a flaw in that your only 3 questions have already assumed that you have no viewers like myself who LOVE the footage discs and totally couldn't care less about the rest of the bad music and bad park behavior that most of the expedition discs show.

Well, it's not really flawed because this poll wasn't about the discs of bad music or park behaviour. Those discs will always be produced as they are the heart and soul of what we do here at TPR.

So the 3 responses were exactly the information I was looking for regarding the footage discs.

Whether you watch the "Expedition disc" or not wasn't important (although the assumption is made that you do), what was important is how much you watch the "Footage disc." And the poll has absolutely helped us with our future decisions, which sounds like it will be in your favor!

Thanks again to everyone for the feedback. And remember, please post your thoughts, positive or negative, you can't offend us, we just want to make the best DVDs for you guys!

I greatly prefer the "expedition" discs, and almost never watch the footage discs. I'm not a fan of POV (I'd rather just ride, and don't feel the need to memorize every millimeter of a ride before I experience it). Though I do enjoy random dark rides, especially stuff like Musical Circus. So a disc of stuff like that would be awesome.

Park index 4.0? Sounds interesting if not incredibly difficult to do!

Just to chuck my opinion out there. I'm pretty much the same as Dave, I always watch the expedition disks, but the footage ones are hit and miss. I'm glad I have them though because it's nice to just have some raw shots of the coasters to show to friends and family.

A photo disk would cool too, could there be an optional "deluxe" edition that has 3 disks?
