Jew Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 Those have to be the lowest resolution press photos ever.
Calicoasters Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 ^ Yeah, I was excited until I clicked on them. This is NOT that new stuff keepin' them standin in line.
costa425 Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 i went to SFMM on thur, thinking it would be not busy, well it was PACKED!!!. X2, and deja+ sky tower, were both closed all day due to the wind. most of the rids had an hour+ wait. i also went by the new coaster and it looks %98.5 complete, although i could be wrong because i could not get an overview shot.   oh, i also brought my IPOd/ ipod speakers, with the hope that i wold run into MR. six. and would then play "we like to party" on my ipod's speakers and dance to the music with him, but sadly he was very sick according to some of the SFMM employees   some funny things that happened in the park, the person who was running the trains at tastu was pretty funny, when he released the trains out of the station, he said "have fun on tastu, on tastu,, on tastu,, on tastu,, on tastu,, on tastu,, on tastu,, on tastu,, on tastu,, on tastu,, on tastu, even after the train left. the way he said it made everyone in line laugh. but it got annoying after a while, (because he did it every time .
the ghost Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 I was at the park yesterday with my friends and got my X2 and Dejavu credits. While I was there, I got some great views of Terminator, and although there is still quite a lot of work to do(mainly on the lift) the coaster was awesome. There was a lot of construction going on, and there were many construction workers working on the ride. I am really looking forward to the ride, and the coaster looks great.
rawrtotheargh Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 ^It seems like everything has gone up incredibly fast except for the lift. I still have hope though. haha looking forward to the 23rd!
xsk8erboi73x Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 I don't post much, but yesterday i went to the park. Terminator looks amazing! can't wait to ride it! Anyway, i got a picture of the front entrance through the peak hole. Sorry if the quality is bad. Enjoy! Terminator's Front Entrance
U2Rox Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 Hey Thanks for that Photo! That looks Great!! I'm even more excited to see the finished product!!
atem122 Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 ^^ aw I remember when my picture through that hole was just the two turns and mud, man it just keeps looking better and better and better and better and better  EDIT: Oh and that bridge doesnt look too small
rawrtotheargh Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 ^^^ ohhhhhhhhhh. i feel like a kid in a candy shop. all excited. I can't wait for it to open.
xsk8erboi73x Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 ^^yeah man, the front entrance makes the bridge 'look' much wider than it looked a week ago.
ebl Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 It looks like the bridge has a little divider thingie where perhaps chain poles or a solid set of bars will go to divide entering and exiting guests. The structure over the entrance looks cool. Â Eric
ethans_dad06 Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 ^ That sure does look like a divider, and it also looks to be offset a little bit to the left. I wonder if that divider is for flashpass on the left and regular line to the right, or if indeed its for entrance/exit. And I will also agree with Eric that the entrance looks really cool!
Sir Clinksalot Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Some pics from today, biggest change is the sign at the entrance as you all saw on the previous page. Â Â Â Â Looks like more metal brackets have been added to the lift area as well. Â
xsk8erboi73x Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 ^^lately the sky tower has been closed due to winds, but i don't know if that was the case today.
Sir Clinksalot Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Sky Tower was closed today. Â I'm thinking there won't be too much visible progress until the station building is built and the ride starts testing. Â They still have a LOT of work to do in the next month.
rawrtotheargh Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Thanks for the update! At least the Lift has seen a lot more progress. It appears to be done more or less. Structurally that is. Can't wait to see it again in person.
ghost007jas Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Are the metal beams on the coaster for enhanced structural integrity? Or are they trying to pretend that it's a steel coaster?
ethans_dad06 Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Thanks for the update! This ride sure is looking great! I am anxious to see the finished look of the ride and entrance. Has anyone heard if the structure was going to be painted or not? I like the look of the natural wood.
Shavethewhales Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Are the metal beams on the coaster for enhanced structural integrity? Or are they trying to pretend that it's a steel coaster? Â That's done on every crossover on every GCII, and probably all other modern wooden coasters as well. I don't know what the significance is - I guess it allows for a larger opening.
ebl Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 I'm no structural engineer, but I'd guess that steel is used on these rides to give extra support wherever there are crossovers. Look also on the last curve (on shots taken from the Sky Tower). There is steel where the other track crosses under. Â Eric
Quicksilver04440 Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Yeah pretty much for support, Keep in mind when you are dealing with a crossover, there is a hole put into where "usually" you would have more bents or some form of wooden support. The steel beams are just added support/integrity to allow for that hole for the crossover.
rawrtotheargh Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 this update comes from the lovely sky tower. work has come along very quickly. station structure is basiically done. fly through is done. they are also starting to put up railing for the queue on the right side of the ride. sorry for the horrible photos. my camera phone isn't the best.
