JFrombaugh
For those of you who have never heard of the Milk Challenge/Milk Chug, here's a video of the guys from Jackass trying it (Warning: Due to gross scenes, viewer descretion is advised) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3Ebd40Gjoc Basically the goal is to drink a gallon of milk as fast as you can, without having thrown up along the way. Few people have gotten the whole gallon down before this happens - even fewer have been able to hold it down! Since the human stomach has a limited capacity, and the brain is programmed to make you throw it up before it's in any danger of bursting, this makes it so that barely anyone can accomplish this feat. I tried that challenge a couple times with friends, but I've never been able to do it. (my record is about 3/4 of a gallon, or 3 quarts) The domino effect of puking crossed my mind...I was worried that if Person A pukes, then Person B is gonna puke, if Person B pukes, then Person X is gonna puke - basically if one throws up, everyone's gonna throw up. Has anyone else done this kind of contest before, and if so, did they do it successfully?
darklingscribe
Sounds dangerous. I heard of such contests done with water where a person dies of water poisoning (the cells in your stomach absorb as much water as they can and then burst). I'd do research before trying this. coolhandluke
^^^Yeah, the "Hold your wee for a Wii" radio station challenge. A nurse even called the program to warn them that the lady was suffering from the telltale symptoms, but they kinda blew it off. My high school has this tradition for the seniors every year. Well, it's not school-sponsored obviously, just a thing a bunch of the seniors try to do every year. Milk is probably one of the toughest drinks to do it with because of the way it expands in your stomach. Especially whole milk... If you're going to try it, please trust me and use skim... AllenA07
That's what happened with the spoonful of cinnamon. Possible yes, pleasant no!
stingrock23
There was a segment about this on the 2nd 311 Enlarged to Show Detail DVD. They ended up finding 2 people who finished. It was pretty funny in that a lot of the people were pretty cocky early on, only go have the milk just fly back up. It was amazing how fast it shot out. dandaman
At first I thought you meant the Will Sasso version of the Jackass Dairy Challenge.

This is a proven medical certainty. It has happened in the past. A women was told to drink 2 gallons of water and she'd win a Nintendo Wii. She then proceeded and she died 45 minutes later due to over saturation of water. Also adding to this the Nathans hot dog eating contest. The winner last year was a small Chinese man. He trained his stomach to allow him to eat enough that the stomach does not stretch down but sideways pushing down his liver and such. His stomach when fully filled can expand to the size of a basketball. Granted this is not the most healthy of things to do in the first place. Disney Dood
I'm not sure I could handle this, but I chugged one of those plastic school lunch milk bottles filled to the top in 1.4 seconds. I'm an animal at chugging.
dj snow
Interesting that this should come up now, as this sort of behavior has been in the news around here recently: Initial article Followup with details of arrests Please, if you are going to chug and then vomit milk, keep it safe, folks! Wow, Ohio residents have MF, TTD, Maverick, and a bunch of other cool coasters like Firehawk and Steel Hawg within a day's drive away...and their schools do the gallon of milk chug as a school event? Man, Texas should take lessons from Ohio, I'm bored of Katy ISD, S:KC, and Texas Giant. You guys are way cooler.
supermanrosfan0810
The challenge is to get the gallon down within an hour, then hold it down for at least an hour after the last bit is consumed. I tried last year at a camping trip, and got all but the last inch on the bottom of the jug down in 50 minutes. I just couldn't get the last bit down, I felt it coming up before I tried to swallow, so it ended there. I at least kept down what I had drank!
