Team Thriller Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 I bet it would be in a corn field. And yes, I bet money someone will get sued.... --James
dandaman Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 I've been playing John Williams' "Close Encounters" medley every time I open this thread. Are there any known mesas in Alabama? Dan "I, for one, welcome our new Southern overlords..." Smith
TheRapidsNerd Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 ^ LOL! Settle for a Appalachian foothill ala Monte Sano Mountain? They can park and cloak at the picnic area and playground. 56. Build mountain of mashed potatoes in living room. (Hey, it's pretty much the only one you didn't nail.) Excellent call my friend! And thank you.
dandaman Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 Eh, closet Close Encounters fan. This would make more sense if it were coming to Canada on October 14... that's our general Election Day! "Four more quiznarks! Four more quiznarks!"
TheRapidsNerd Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Ok, just for fun, on October 14-17 (the 3 days mentioned) I will go out after work and take pictures and video of the sky. Brandy, with your blessing, I'd like to post them here so we can see something AMAZING or have a good laugh. Sound good? Hey, why not? Could be fun.
Kalepi_Konei Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 ^ If you don't see anything (which you won't) video tape some clouds for me I hear they look mighty interesting in Alabama!
Brandy524 Posted September 29, 2008 Author Posted September 29, 2008 Ok, just for fun, on October 14-17 (the 3 days mentioned) I will go out after work and take pictures and video of the sky. Brandy, with your blessing, I'd like to post them here so we can see something AMAZING or have a good laugh. Sound good? Hey, why not? Could be fun. Awesome. Aren't you near Huntsville? Some of the comments on her blog were saying that it may appear over Huntsville since the space center is there. Pfft. I wonder if this is an event that would constitute stockpiling bread and milk.
TheBannedKid Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Are you sure she isn't just talking about the DVD and Blu-ray release of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull? It comes out on the 14th...
bigstevet07 Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 I think we are missing the most important part of their arrival. Will they be able to finally tell us what rides are like... on the moon?
dandaman Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 To hell with the moon, what about rides on Mars? Or Omicron Persei 8?
TheRapidsNerd Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Awesome. Aren't you near Huntsville? Some of the comments on her blog were saying that it may appear over Huntsville since the space center is there. Pfft. I wonder if this is an event that would constitute stockpiling bread and milk. I am indeed and might just be able to get over to the Space and Rocket Center. Will do my best. As far as stockpiling, doncha just love mild panic buying that couples with a hint of bad weather? To hell with the moon, what about rides on Mars? Or Omicron Persei 8? Or the Amazonian planet.
cpfan101 Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 If they do come, I call keeping an Alien as a pet. --David
TheRapidsNerd Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Just a friendly reminder, next week ET says hello over Alabama and maybe stops for wings. Get out your Romulan Ale and celebrate! Just don't spew in front of the Klingons.
Disney Dood Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Couldn't they fly over something more interesting than Alabama?
TheRapidsNerd Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 They heard about the good wings and bbq here. That or the 7Up cake.
thrillerman1 Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 If they fly over Nashville on their way to Alabama I'll be sure to let y'all know!
dandaman Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 NASA just released their transcript of first contact! http://wavcentral.com/cgi-bin/log/log.cgi?id=480&sound=/sounds/movies/closenc/close02.mp3
Kalepi_Konei Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 That or the 7Up cake. It's definately the 7UP Cake because not even aliens could think up that kind of technology.
Brandy524 Posted October 14, 2008 Author Posted October 14, 2008 Nothing over Gadsden, AL. I guess it's just too boring here.
AllenA07 Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 I've got my purple robe and Nikes on, all that's left is if the aliens are supplying the Kool-aid.
paintballer Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 Stupid Aliens...They shoulda come so I could laugh at them!
TheRapidsNerd Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 Oh...My...God...... It's another BEAUTIFUL day in Alabama! The only thing Alien I saw today was a Whatchmacallit in the snack machine at work. Those are new!
Brandy524 Posted October 14, 2008 Author Posted October 14, 2008 Hmmm...I wonder what Ms. Goodchild is going to have to say about that. The aliens I mean. Although she may have a fondness for Whatchamacallits too.
