Hotlanta Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 This applies on to Disneyland or the WDW in Orlando. Disney is giving away one day free admission to any of it's parks for 2009 on your birthday. If you have a multi day pass or an AP holder you can also get these other perks instead of the one day pass A birthday fun card in an amount equal to the price of a 1-day Magic Your Way base ticket* for you to use on your birthday for merchandise, recreation or fun activities at select participating locations at Walt Disney World® Resort; or A special birthday FASTPASS® badge+ for certain attractions at the Theme Park you visit on your birthday; or A 1-day Magic Your Way base ticket for you to use any time until your next birthday. More details here
YoshiFan Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Very cool of Disney, I like the birthday fun card the option the best since unless you are there alone, if you use the fastpass and it's only for you to use, then you are going to be riding without your friends or family.
terrancew_hod Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Pretty cool. Even cooler is my birthday is on a Sunday so I can stay in orlando, party on Saturday and get my rides in on Sunday. That is if I don't find something else to get into on my birthday! Terry
Mechanic Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 I also thought the FastPass thing would be kind of lame unless you were visiting alone, (What fun would that be on your birthday?) until I read this in the FAQ section: +The number of birthday FASTPASS badges issued is limited and may not be available after 11am. Valid Theme Park admission required. FASTPASS for birthday celebrant and up to 5 members of his/her party. That's sounds really cool. Our annual summer trip to SoCal is almost always near either my, or my oldest son's birthday. (One of them in late June and one in mid July) It's not a "huge" extra perk, but it's a nice gesture and one that I will take into account when visiting next year.
Homer Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 The birthday pin totally owns too, it got me free Powerade and a phone call from Goofy.
AllenA07 Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 Smart move by Disney. When I told my fiancee (who is not a coaster nut) about this she responded that if we are in CA for either of our birthdays we should go to Disneyland. People don't generally go to parks alone, so this should mean some increased business for Disney next year.
window Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 I got a free cookie at The Land on my birthday in June
PeoplemoverMatt Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 This is so much better than "Year of a Million Dreams" !!!
TheBannedKid Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 Don't you mean "Years of a Million Dreams"... Neat idea but nothing beats being a cast member.

BeemerBoy Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 Time to break out my aliases and fake IDs.
carolinacaniac Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 Well, I will be in Michigan for my Brother-in-law's high school graduation on the same weekend as my B-day (June 6th), so unless there is a park owned by Disney that randomly sprouts out of the ground that weekend........
Thinking Cap Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 This will be a good deal for me. I've got twins.
ElToroGirl84 Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 My birthday unfortunately is 2009's Superbowl sunday, february 1st, not sure if it's good or bad yet(bad for a Disneyworld trip since the superbowl is in tampa, fl). I was actually thinking of doing Disneyland next year for my birthday and decided not to because I wanted to do Cedar point and King's Island next year along with a trip to Ireland so no Disneyland trip for my birthday but this news makes me want to change my mind. Now if they gave away free airfare and hotel stays I'd surely change my mind!(hell I'd even consider it if I got a small discount on both).
PhantomNick Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Time to break out my aliases and fake IDs. I can see the Disney ticket people now: "Hmmmm, I must say Mister Sanchez, you look strangely familiar to me......your face looks almost identical to a man who was here 2 days ago!" I have to say, this is a pretty cool promotion by the parks. I've never been to Disney World (or any Disney parks) - yet, but it seems like they have their finger on the pulse of what stellar customer service is all about.
