PhantomPoster32
WOF hasn't ever really gone for "goofy" titles like that in the past. I doubt that they would start that trend now. SFSTL has been sitting on that title of most coasters in the state for awhile now. It's time they get knocked off that perch. 'Course they (SFSTL) could go with "the park with the most SBNO rides in the state!"
Jaykethekid
I'd really like to see a coaster coming in 2017, but I feel it's highly unlikely. I know it's been said many times, but there isn't any land clearings at all. The only way I could see them getting a coaster is if it's rather compact, and quick to build. They could start construction after the announcement, kinda like Lake Compounce did for Phobia.

Fury 325 construction started late August/early September from what I can find. X-Flight at SFGA started construction in September. It doesn't take B&M a very long time to build a new roller coaster and I don't think that us not seeing any signs of construction means anything yet. (I based this of off B&M because they're the only manufacturer I've seen mentioned on this forum. But who knows, maybe if they're getting a coaster they are using a different company.) We'll know on Thursday!

Slides to rides
Also something to remember, the park hasn't ever been early on construction. Rebar for Steelhawk and more recently Planet Snoopy didn't go in till January which is almost half the time they have to work in the first place! I was really happy to see Planet Snoopy and Splash Island open for their opening days though. I saw the official permits for the Planet Snoopy rides and they weren't filed until September, so just something to keep in mind. There aren't really any markings, no permits filed yet, so right now it could go either way. My predictions as before is the two flat rides, winter event, and new gate. I've stuck to that for awhile now but I feel like there might be something else instead of the winter event since it sounds like more of the larger parks are receiving that. Anyone else get invited to the announcement?

PhantomPoster32
Anyone else get invited to the announcement? I did but we're already back in session at my school district so I'll have to wait until lunch to check out the press release. Do they typically live stream their announcements? The last time they had a REAL PR manager was before that technology existed. Though we have a pretty good one now and I could see him going live on Periscope or Facebook
Wa_WoF
Wait wait wait... what if one of the announcements is that they are making WoF a year round park? It seems it would fit in, but it seems to get a little too cold there for that.

Jaykethekid
Worlds of Fun having a year round operating schedule would be cool, I'd totally support that. The problem is that winters can be a bit harsh round there. But then again, winterfest would have the same problem.

While I think a "Christmas Around the World" event could be interesting - SDC has the market cornered on Christmas (Halloween is more WOF's thing)
Vonni
Year round operation would never happen at a Missouri Park. Maybe, (and that's a big maybe) SDC. But never WOF or SFStL. Come on, people. Lets bring these wild speculations a little more down to Earth.

Come on, people. Lets bring these wild speculations a little more down to Earth. Nah. The entire town of Branson shuts down in January and February. It used to shut down around Labor Day back in the day Which just further proves my point lol! Branson pretty much follows SDC's schedule. The town is built around SDC (and originally Shepherd of the Hills too, though the latter is less important now). When SDC put in World-Fest and the Christmas festival in the early 90s, many of the businesses found it profitable to extend their seasons as well. People who came to see Christmas lights would also see Andy Williams sing carols and buy Christmas presents at the outlet malls. Recently as SDC has been extending their season further by opening for spring break in early March, you see a lot of those seasonal businesses also opening at those times. So this isn't to say SDC would go year-round, as I really don't think we would have sufficient people travelling to Branson in Jan and Feb. Clearly SDC doesn't think so either, or they'd be open. The point is that Branson shutting down in the winter is a function of SDC shutting down in the winter. They don't look to other Branson businesses to take the lead. Jaykethekid
I think naming the rides to honor past attractions is really a great idea. I see quite frequently on WOF social media is people commenting about how much they miss some old rides and they should bring them back. I know that would make a lot of people happy. OrientZinger
Sorry is this is a repost as I got an SQL error. The Schussboomer would be an awesome legacy name well fitting for the front entrance area as its location was in Scandinavia. The boomer part of name would well fit a launch coaster if we were to receive one. From Wikipedia....Schussboomer was a steel wild mouse roller coaster at Worlds of Fun theme park in Kansas City, Missouri. The ride was dismantled in 1984. It was named after a skier who schusses, one who skis fast and straight. Wikipedia

OrientZinger
Ecstatic if they choose a legacy name or names for any or all the rides. All of them are good for recycling. How would that work with copyright law? Would the park just renew or re-license? Pardon me but its just my forte' in that area.
