P. 177: 2025 park enhancements announced!

Recommended Posts

How have ride operations been lately compared to opening day. I know on opening day, the trains on all coaster, excluding Timberwolf for its restraint problem and prowler not having the second train built, never stacked.

Is WoF a "dry park"? I'm getting mixed reports. I know for a fact they had a BBQ and Brew festival with a lot of craft beer. Sounds strange if they normally don't serve beer. On my U.S. trip next week I just don't expect to raise my coaster count by over 100 - I expect to do the same with my Untappd account as well. I need my beer dammit!

They do serve beer, you just can't leave the bar with it. It's available at Chickie's and Pete's, and at Battle Creek Barbecue. Boulevard Brewing Co. is KC's local mezzobrewery, and they make a huge number of seasonal and year-round varieties. They're most known for their unfiltered wheat, which is quite good and I believe on tap at both locations, if I'm not mistaken.

Pehw, and that sounds awesome. I'm a huge fan of hefe-weiss. Thank's for the info.

Isn't Chickie's just by the bottle? There is draft beer on the porch at Battlecreek

Yeah, I know Battle Creek does. I thought C&P does too, but I could be wrong about that. I've only been in there once, and I'm too much of a cheapskate to buy beer at theme parks.

So do we have a clue what's going on in Bicentennial Square?

My best guess is that the arcade will be moved here and then the current arcade building will be where our dark ride goes. If they have to raise the building so be it, just please make the facade resemble the rest of the architecture of the area.

I would wager Condor goes where Thunderhawk was and Trokia goes where Crazy Cars building is now.

Haha. A beer at your random pub in Sweden is about $10. How much is a beer at your standard themepark in the U.S.?

One of the my friends on Instagram has told me that the construction in the old game building is for the relocation of an existing haunted house. This guy is pretty reliable as he's worked HAUNT before and currently is pretty high up at the park.

So assuming this is true, I'm guessing Asylum is being relocated.

Is there a reason why nobody thinks a ride will go where scrambler was? With a new entrance it's a nice location, I'm genuinely curious

The main reason is because it was not ADA compliant and the fact that they went in and removed everything and actually seeded the area. Honestly if you didn't know a ride was there now...

There are better pads that need to be filled first.

I'm guessing Asylum is being relocated.

I have a hard time believing that. For one thing, the building is like half the size and with Asylum being one of the highest rated mazes each year, they are not going to mess with that.

The ramp leading up to the ride does not meet state requirements as it is too steep (at least that's what I've heard). Plus you can't fit much there.

It was actually the exit that was the problem

If this is true I don't see them moving Asylum, Carnevil, and Bayou that close to each other . Maybe getting rid of Carnevil and finally giving Hexed a stable home. Or even, this might sound crazy, but moving Bayou to that location for an expansion nest year?

They won't be moving any of the permanent haunts. They built the buildings for a reason.

Still think they're moving the arcade. If they're going to do a new Haunt it would make more sense to use that building that doesn't have any windows

Perhaps clowns are getting their own house and CarnEvil is going bye-bye? They have so many props that it could easily become its own maze. I know clowns are going all makeup this year, so maybe more changes are coming?

Yeah, about $10. I keep thinking, "Or, I could go get a six pack of something good for that price after we leave...." And that line of thinking always wins.

My preference differs. I'll gladly pay $10 per beer for a nice shaded people watching bench surrounded by some of my favorite types of structures and the sounds they make. When my $10 beer is gone I can hop on whichever piece of scenery I choose to. It's a part of the whole package for us.

Preach. It's the same reason people pay 20 bucks for a burger at a restaurant with a nice view. Sure you could make one at home for a lot less, but you're paying for the experience and the convenience.

The front gate has been designed for awhile, they've just been waiting to pull the trigger on it. The last I heard is that it would be located more East of the current one and enter the park by Tivoli. Now that might have changed since then but as the grade is more ADA friendly there it would make sense

What do you guys think about a Africa Entrance

An entrance to the most dead and run down (my opinion) area of the park? Sure, why not...

I know you're not overly familiar with the park, but Africa stretches from Prowler to Monsoon. It's a big "land" and is far from dead. It has the most rollercoasters and thrill rides of any section.

The biggest issue with an Africa entrance would be parking. It would be very easy from that entrance to either park, which would make it ideal. So everyone would want to park over there, and there just isn't that much space. And yes I realize that you can enter OOF and go through there to Africa, buy it is a bit of a hike. An entrance next to Mamba would be much less walking and therefore more desirable. Its plaza would make a good entrance though, aesthetically speaking.

I am very familiar with the park. Any things possible, the sky is the limit, it's kinda aggravating that you guy's imagination is dull, lack creativity, oh and by the way I probably know the ins and outs of the park way better than anyone of you do , my name is Insider Man for a reason
