Three Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 2006 is getting a hella ton of B&Ms, no? It's been a while since they've had so much on the table: Black Mamba inverted at PhantasiaLand, confirmed The Patriot inverted at Worlds of Fun, semi-confirmed The unnamed flyer at Six Flags Magic Mountain, semi-confirmed The unnamed flyer at that new park in China... OCT? The unnamed hyper at Six Flags Over Georgia, semi-confirmed And I think I'm missing a few. They seem to have gotten a lot a flack lately... I do hope they're getting back in the swing of things. Especially with the rumors about Black Mamba's helix....
Twister II Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 I dought all those will even be built. Go to rcdb.com, look there first, its only 2, mamba, and the one at WOA.
robbalvey Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 IMO, I'd say that four of those have a pretty good chance of getting built. First I've heard about the China one. --Robb
coaster1 Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 OCT one in China is supposed to open this year, not 2006. Plus they this isn't alot of them, 1999 and 2000 were alot more ... but then again this could change as details are released.
ECZenith Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 Yup, already track on site for the Chinese flying coaster. http://www.rcdb.com/ig3141.htm
Jeezus Juice Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 ^ well, onsite in Ohio anyway. Seems like a good year for B&M though. I wonder if the SFOG hyper will be any different from the ones we've seen already. I guess another Nitro wouldn't hurt. Also, any word on Cedar Points 9 Jo-Jo roll floorless yet? -Don
ECZenith Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 I'm assuming the track's been moved to Beijing, they're supposed to have it open this year.
Jeezus Juice Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 Doesn't B&M have a production plant closer to china than the one in Ohio? I'm not totally convinced that this is china flyer track. The pics on rcdb look like they were from a camera phone and could either be unfinished Patriot track or SFMM flyer track. Whatever track it is, I can't wait to see what the layouts are for next years crop. B&M is doing some interesting things lately, maybe we'll see the first Dive Machine with a jo-jo roll -JJ
ECZenith Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 A tag on the track says it's for OCT Beijing, unless it was photoshopped, it's legit.
PhishyBrewer Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 Are they traded on the Swiss Stock Exchange?$?$?$
Jeezus Juice Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 I totally forgot about the tag! I looked at that pic too, weird. Still seems like there would be a better wat to get steel to china than to ship from the middle of a land-locked state. <----but what does he know anyway -Don
colinmom71 Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 I'm taking this with a grain of salt until more info comes out, but for what it's worth.... Well, on a board dedicated to all things SFOG, someone has posted a claim to have seen the model for the new coaster as well as the specs. They posted the following: B&M Hyper 235+ ft. drop, into a tunnel below road Blue, silver, red, white Sunken station in the USA section MCBR 10 drops... In a follow-up post, he says the lift hill will have an elevation of 200 ft., but a drop of over 235 ft. (I'm presuming he means the elevation from ground level since there's supposedly a sunken station). If true, this would technically then be B&M's biggest drop... I hope it's true! That's just what SFOG needs - a good speed coaster with great drops! It's going to be a long off-season here in ATL...
ECZenith Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 That would be perfect for the park, here's hoping... Shouldn't be long until some kind of announcement.
