pgathriller
Western Playland Amusement Park here in El Paso Texas has a Round-Up called La Ruleta, and a Tilt-A-Whirl. I have only seen these rides here in El Paso and in Carnivals. I was wondering if any other amusement parks have these rides? Here is a link to pictures of a Round Up and a Tilt-A-Whirl. Coasterlicious
I love tilt-a-whirls .... I think CP has one, and a small local park here has one.. they are getting rare though... the local SF doesnt have one...
pgathriller
I know they are getting rare but why? Round Ups are thrilling intense rides that don't cost too much. They are perfect for parks that don't have much money. Tilt-A-Whirls are pretty cool and can be intense when they want to be. I am going to start a list of where these two rides are. Round Ups- Western Playland Tilt-A-Whorls- Western Playland, Cedar Point
Coasterlicious
Tilt-a-whirls can be found at Cedar Point - Sandusky Oh. Waldameer Park - Erie Pa. Midway Park - Mapple Springs Ny (a tiny old park ) Astroland - Wherever that is... and thats all that I know of but im sure there is more... black sabbath
SFMM, has both a Tilt a wirl (known as Circus Wheel) and a Round Up (known as Grinder Gearworks). It's a shame that these rides have become so rare, they are truly great classics. SD county fair has both right now also, just rode them on Thursday. kat11joe
There is a tilt-a-whirl at Castle Park in Riverside, California. It's a small local amusement park but still fun
pgathriller
Here is the newest list. Tilt-A-Whirls- Western Playland, Cedar Point, Astroland, Midway Park, Waldameer Park, SFMM, Castle Park. Round-Ups- Western Playland, SFMM. I can't believe there are still so many Tilt-A-Whirls! I have a crazy idea. I think that there are more Tilt-A-Whirls then Chance's Double Inverters. Lets see if there are more old school rides than the new Double Inverter. So post Double Inverters too. Here is a link to a picture of a Double Inverter- http://mediatheek.thinkquest.nl/~llb215/images/Double_inverter.jpg

Jeezus Juice
Theres a pretty good reason you don't see alot of the older flats around anymore. Over the years as ride companies change focus/ go out of buisness, replacement parts become harder and harder to find. In some cases parks are left to fabricate their own parts and the cost associated with that can be pretty steep. In some cases it makes better financial sense to scrap older rides for new models/lemon chill stands what have you. Some parks I would look at that still have many operating vintage rides would be Rye Playland, Kennywood, and the Holy Grail of traditional parks Knobels. They still have gas operated rides. Indiana Beach has a Tilt-o-whirl that spun me pretty stupid, so theres another one. -Rideman Don

Bell's Amusement Park has a round-up and Tilt-A-Whirl I think and Worlds of Fun has a round up along with a rarer Rotor As for double Inverters, Geauga Lake has one, but as with most they only run one side and I also think SFNE has one. ECZenith
Yup, just went on Dorney's tilt-a-whirl a couple days ago, my girlfriend's a flat ride addict and we went on pretty much every one there. Edaville Railroad in Carver, Mass, and Morey's Piers in Wildwood, NJ both have tilt-a-whirls installed. (Morey's also has an Inverter) A ride similar to the roundup that can be found in the Northeast US is the Huss UFO. They have one at Canada's Wonderland and SF Darien Lake. bgwfreak
Lake Winnie has a tilt-a-whirl. I'm not sure about the other ride you mentioned. There's another park I went to this year that had one, I can't remember if it was Beech Bend or Holiday World. Lake Winnie had a great collection of old flats.
