The restraints were really not that bad OK : P

Especially later in the year, they seemed far better (barely any feeling at all, and no pain after 4 rides). I heard they went to a slightly softer material.

 

Havn't been following, what's the issues with Skyrush? Please don't tell me we have more I305 type issues that will plague it endlessly Will it be open for May?

They changed the material from plastic to foam around June, so they were a bit softer.

 

They are aiming to open it by May, fingers crossed!

 

Again, I've also heard that the cars had an issue with how that couple with each other?...Does anyone know if that's for sure true or not?

It was a significant improvement. Though I still didn't mind. Went on opening day and maybe my legs were sore for like 30 seconds afterwards but that was it, and no lasting impact. I'm not even in very good shape (at all) so no excuses for others

 

 

Yes, I havn't heard anything about axles or the cars coupling or anything like that.

Not trying to moderate, but, it is against the rules around here to have 2 accounts. Just kind of shady that two accounts, with very low post totals, that both signed up the same day, would be so interested in SkyRush at the same time.....

It is a tad odd that other user has 1 post, which means it was the one here in this thread that happens to be "how are you 100% sure?"

But hey, I've seen lurkers on other forums that decide to post out of the blue, it is just weird and you keep using the tongue smiley like you are mocking us

This is a forum that is actually fun so let's just end all that there and not be overly serious

 

As it was said I'm sure something as major as axle issues and etc would've appeared even sooner.

I personally heard rumors that all this was about the infamous "new resraints" people want. Though honestly IDK what you can really do about -2Gs of force.

Sure hope they don't slow down the lift. I hated when they did that on El Toro and there was quite a slow down on I305. I want one that just plunges over at those speeds!

My boyfriend who used to work there apparently heard it from maintenance (about the cars coupling) and told me, sooo that's what I assumed it was, but now people are saying differently (not that it's a bad thing), lol, oh well. I just hope they get whatever it is fixed soon!

Sorry to cause an uproar.. I don't post much on TPR because of being busy with college and other things. I've heard from some pretty reputable people though that there was a problem with a number of axles on the train, and I live in the Hershey area and have been on Skyrush a ton so it just made me wonder where you heard that from. My hope is that they find a way to fix the thing and get it operating by the start of the season. The fact that it got removed from the spring time in the park rides list didn't bode well for it though. In regards to the restraints I originally had a problem with the originals, but I have never had a problem with the newer ones. I don't think Hershey intended the new ones to be a end all fix for the restraint issue though. I'm optimistic that Hershey has done some work with Intamin and we'll see a much improved and comfortable Skyrush for everyone!

The steel frames were just sitting on blocks of wood, so to me that would indicate that something along those lines went wrong, but like I said I heard from some people that it had something to do with broken axles.

When they were sitting there, were the lapbars present?
