P. 431: Jolly Rancher Remix & Mix'd family ride to debut this summer

Recommended Posts

Whelp...I just found this thread...And being the Skyrush fangirl I am, so much for sleep tonight, lol

If you want the cliffnotes version:

"The restraints hurt "

"No they don't."

"Yes they do"

"No they don't"

...I think I laughed more than I should have... :$

Just to be cliché and add to that, I honestly didn't think the restraints were that bad. I rode it about 15 times in row alternating trains (kinda a long story behind that...Well not really THAT long) and it didn't hurt until the day after. I actually hope they aren't changing the restraints this season, I loved the airtime too much!! On a side note, I am super stocked to be going back to the park this year. I went down to PA a few weeks ago and I got my boyfriend to drive me to the park just to take photos of Skyrush from the road. I think he thought I was insane. Oh well, he's a coaster fanatic too (he's the one the brought me into it >.> lol). I'll be going back in May and August, so I'm really hoping that Skyrush will be open by then! When I went last year in May, I was ONE week too early for it's opening...It was just so taunting to see it do its test runs! At least I got to go back later in the summer and ride it, haha.

EDIT:Reading back in the previous posts, I noticed someone mentioned they might be slowing down the lift hill!? Nooooo D:

I've also heard that the cars had an issue with how that couple with each other? And that's why it was closed for Halloween and won't be open for Spring...Does anyone know if that's for sure true or not?

The restraints were really not that bad OK : P

Especially later in the year, they seemed far better (barely any feeling at all, and no pain after 4 rides). I heard they went to a slightly softer material.

Havn't been following, what's the issues with Skyrush? Please don't tell me we have more I305 type issues that will plague it endlessly Will it be open for May?

They changed the material from plastic to foam around June, so they were a bit softer.

They are aiming to open it by May, fingers crossed!

It was a significant improvement. Though I still didn't mind. Went on opening day and maybe my legs were sore for like 30 seconds afterwards but that was it, and no lasting impact. I'm not even in very good shape (at all) so no excuses for others

Yes, I havn't heard anything about axles or the cars coupling or anything like that.

100% false

How do you know it's 100% false? I'd be interested to know what you know that the rest of us don't.

By the way, do you have 2 accounts or something?

Not trying to moderate, but, it is against the rules around here to have 2 accounts. Just kind of shady that two accounts, with very low post totals, that both signed up the same day, would be so interested in SkyRush at the same time.....

I can honestly bet my life that the other account isn't me

It is a tad odd that other user has 1 post, which means it was the one here in this thread that happens to be "how are you 100% sure?"

But hey, I've seen lurkers on other forums that decide to post out of the blue, it is just weird and you keep using the tongue smiley like you are mocking us

Indeed I don't care to moderate, and long as Skyrush is up for main park opening I'm happy.

So don't! It is against the rules to double post too, should I ban you?

Ahh, I'm sorry. I'm not trying to mock you. I just typed ": P" and the icon showed up D:

About the other account, I swear it's pure coincidence. If there's something you want me to do to "prove it", let me know, I don't know what else to say :\

Yes, s'all good. Chillax everyone, me included

This is a forum that is actually fun so let's just end all that there and not be overly serious

As it was said I'm sure something as major as axle issues and etc would've appeared even sooner.

I personally heard rumors that all this was about the infamous "new resraints" people want. Though honestly IDK what you can really do about -2Gs of force.

Sure hope they don't slow down the lift. I hated when they did that on El Toro and there was quite a slow down on I305. I want one that just plunges over at those speeds!

You can if you want. I'm not trying to be a dick. But it says that the two accounts joined the same day.

Fine. I'll stop.

Back to SkyRush - just trust me on the car thing.

100% false

I wouldnt say 100% false, but rather highly unlikely.

Holy hell. Alright. I know nothing. I'm just taking a stab at the whole 100% thing.

EDIT: Really screwed those last 2 posts up.

My boyfriend who used to work there apparently heard it from maintenance (about the cars coupling) and told me, sooo that's what I assumed it was, but now people are saying differently (not that it's a bad thing), lol, oh well. I just hope they get whatever it is fixed soon!

Sorry to cause an uproar.. I don't post much on TPR because of being busy with college and other things. I've heard from some pretty reputable people though that there was a problem with a number of axles on the train, and I live in the Hershey area and have been on Skyrush a ton so it just made me wonder where you heard that from. My hope is that they find a way to fix the thing and get it operating by the start of the season. The fact that it got removed from the spring time in the park rides list didn't bode well for it though. In regards to the restraints I originally had a problem with the originals, but I have never had a problem with the newer ones. I don't think Hershey intended the new ones to be a end all fix for the restraint issue though. I'm optimistic that Hershey has done some work with Intamin and we'll see a much improved and comfortable Skyrush for everyone!

Wait...who were you directing the last part at? As in, heard what?

So, do you think the issue is in fact with the axles/cars?
