pkdcoaster
Went up to KD today and found many many changes throughout the park. Of course the biggest changes in the park are the addition of Dominator and the removal of Hypersonic, most everything else was just simple sign changes and some landscaping. Crowds were pretty light and of course the biggest line was for Volcano. The "NEW" Forward Rebel Yell was undergoing some Track work so it was not open today. Here are the Juicy pics of VA's newest B&M I will upload these to my pic account later PM me if you would like any high quality pics from here. Enjoy, JEFF LIFT HILL OMG!!! I love the ending Doesnt look like they are keeping the odd inspection platform they had at GL Dominates the Front of the park It is kind of an odd set up. Looks like Beserker was just thrown down in the middle of Dominator's entrance Station before the finished floor No chain yet some close ups Geek Shot With Beserker's new paint job From the entrance Best part MMMMM
pkdcoaster
Now time for XLC RIP JEFF I really liked this new addition to the highway sign Train and top of the hill in the woods
Jekoon
These are great pictures. Thanks! Beserker's new colors look strange.
Capitalize
I was there today as well. Dominator looks really really awesome. Its going to take some getting used to seeing a B&M at KD finally...
coasterdude5
Great trip report. Sad to see that emptiness where XLC once stood... edit: Will there be a path running adjacent to Dominator? I think I see one with lights and all but I'm not sure if that's a new path or just an old maintenance path.
andy_e219
Great There is a very slim chance I will be able to visit there this summer, mabye next summer.
cfc
Thanks for the look at Dominator, Jeff--"dominates" is right. Poor Sooby Doo is dwarfed by it. As for Hypersonic, rest in pieces, I guess. I was amused at how the "drag-race" starting lights are still there despite all the destruction. The new interstate sign does, indeed, look nice. Ccron10
lol. Gotta love that they kept the christmas trees. Where'd HyperSonic get moved to anyway?
cfc
lol. Gotta love that they kept the christmas trees. Where'd HyperSonic get moved to anyway? To Hell, I hope.
Top Thrill Dragster
Very nice pictures! I am suprised that they didn't just repave the entire area where XLC once stood with concrete instead of patching it with asphalt.
pkdcoaster
There will be a "Refurbished path" to replace the old one that was behind Scooby Doo. Hypersonic is on the area behind Hurler and Grizzly (you can see pieces of it in the Hurler pic. Here are some shots from Oct...what a difference in 5 months JEFF Buh Bye I like this years pic MUCH better basically went from Beserker to Scooby's Haunted Mansion/Picnic Grove this was the lonely old path
gldude
You guys in VA are so lucky, I am going to miss my weekly marathons on Dominator. What a great ride, I hope they fix the trains so the ride wont be so jerky through the inversions.
Carnage
Hopefully it made the move alright. Batman Knight Flight was always my favorite floorless. And good riddance to Hypersonic. POS.
FeelTheFORCE
Great pics! Dominator looks great! It's going to take some getting used to, though, not seeing that lake right next to it, though.
carolinacaniac
^ I was thinking the same thing. It really is odd that there is no lake next to it. Jeff, you have any idea when the track was completed? Great collection of pics you have here, especially from the eiffel tower
slither37
Great TR,has it been announced when Dominator will open? Rode this last year at GL and visiting KD/BGE this spring.
bpmitchell
Dominator is scheduled to open on Memorial Day Weekend, no exact date as to when it will open, but a rumor that it will have a soft debut before its official opening. Track was completed this past week, no exact date as to when the last piece was installed. They were installing the lift hill chain yesterday and doing some work in the station. jmicha
Dominator is looking good. I'm going to miss it being so close to my house, but Kings Dominion is a better home for it. Nothing can beat the scenic location it once had, however. The lake really added to the atmosphere of the ride and enhanced the experience. ConleyKE
Wow, never thought I'd see the day when a B&M was at a park with an Eiffel Tower. Too bad it isn't at Kings Island.

CoasterComet
I rode BKF at GL, and thought it was a nice ride. I mean, a B&M with no heartline spiral!??? But it was nice. It sure looks great at KD with that new orange track! Seems the Anaconda would be pretty much not needed anymore... A nice "Phantom's Revenge-esque make-over" would be HOW COOL!!! Think CF would every have the desire to ever pull that off!? Probably just a 'too cool' thing to do for such a sophisticated corporation.... Apparently did wonders for Kennywood though! I mean think about it. That first dive in the tunnel, no headrests and naggy OTSR's... etc.... Another thing that would someday be 'cool' is take those points where the drop-down walkway was over the water on BKF/Dominator at GL and design either a tunnel or 'light tunnel' over that section of track. How cool would that be!

alpengeist04
They're almost there. Still not crazy about the location, but it's better than not having the coaster at all. As for Anaconda, I actually liked the coaster when it first came out. I guess I didn't know what a good ride was until Intamin and B&M started making kicka** coasters. AllenA07
That are looks so empty without Hypersonic. Sad to see the christmas tree lights standing there without the ride.
