SharkTums Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 Ha! This was posted on my cruise ship board a few days ago and I didn't even think to post it here! Seriously though, there is so much dirt and germs in the world, just be glad that the human body is very resistant to most crap!
Goliath513 Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 ^ Good point. Most of us are just lucky to not get sick every time we leave our houses. With seeing this, this explains why I got sick when I was down at SFMM this summer after staying at the Best Western Valencia. I wouldn't doubt that this hotel fails the standards. Heck, there was a spider in the bed my mom slept in, so it's not just humans that contaminate those rooms.
Disney Dood Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 ...New marketing slogan: "McDonald's: At least we have clean bathrooms!" Hah, my local McDonalds has holes in the bathroom walls, half a mirror and the walls are covered floor to cieling with graffiti.
Pufferfish Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 I want to throw up after seeing this. I have used those cups a million times over the years and never thought twice that something like this was happening to them. Thankfully nothing bad has happened to me from doing so, but just to be sure it never happens, I'm not ever going to use those glasses again.
exit english Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 Here's what you do: 1.) Fill glass with ice. 2.) Pour Vodka or whatever 80+ proof liquor you prefer over said ice. 3.) Swish alcohol around to kill all germs. 4.) Enjoy a tasty beverage. 5.) Repeat with all remaining glasses, and then carry on. Sounds like a good idea to me.
ParkTrips Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 haha, they did a report like that on the news down here a few weeks ago. copycats! edit: whoops, that is the report I was talking about. PS - larrygator stayed in that Embassy for the Final 4. He said he didn't feel too well after the Saturday night games. He blamed it on the intoxicated condition he may have been in the night before. I think he just stayed in his room all night eating water and watching swedish porn
IceDragon Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 You think that was bad? Take a look at this: http://divinecaroline.com/article/22250/39755-video--hotel-hazzards
ginzo Posted December 8, 2007 Author Posted December 8, 2007 ^Apart from the information about bed bugs (a real, growing problem), that clip is mostly senseless fear mongering. Most hotel rooms are cleaner than my apartment. As long as you follow basic hygiene, like frequent hand washing, you should be fine. I always crack up at the paranoid guys at my work who spray everything down with Lysol every day. The hotel glasses story was of interest to me because you actually ingest stuff into your body out of glasses.
exit english Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 One would think that keeping your socks on would do nothing but keep the "germs" hanging around your feet longer than if you went barefoot, anyway. A sock is absorbent, and doesn't seem to be very protective. Then again, what do I know?
Adrenaline_Rush Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 Can someone tell me what this whole story is about, my computer is out of sound and this looks interesting.
larrygator Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 PS - larrygator stayed in that Embassy for the Final 4. He said he didn't feel too well after the Saturday night games. He blamed it on the intoxicated condition he may have been in the night before. I think he just stayed in his room all night eating water and watching swedish porn Thanks Joe, I thought that was my Embassy Suites. I've stayed there twice and am still alive, yet this disturbs me. The intoxicated condition lead me to drink a lot of water throughout the night. In the future I will just reuse my Souvenir Coke cup for late night water. And the porn wasn't Swedish in Atlanta.

That must be a pain in the ass! (assuming she got bitten there )
bigjohnson51 Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 Well that's great. I wish I would have watched this video before I stayed in a hotel Thanksgiving night! That's just disgusting.
Kevin Long Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 modern man emerged roughly 100,000 years ago, he used to drink water from mud puddles and eat raw meat and poultry and bugs and all manner of things we find disgusting now. we learned better over the millennia, but are we too soft now? I say man up, pitch the disinfectant and get ready for the coming apocalypse when everything will be unsanitary compared to now. just a thought Kevin Long Fat old Guy
