Caw! Caw!

 

Your favorite crow has returned to the shores of Lake Shafer! It’s good to be home … strike that, it’s GREAT to be home! Things are getting very exciting around here, lots of things are happening fast and it looks like there may be some big news very soon.

 

Want the best news of all … you, my faithful readers, will be the FIRST to hear it. That’s right, Indiana Beach is letting me leak the news right here on our little blog when the time comes.

 

Keep an eye right here on this “crazy” crow this ”fall” for that real “steal” that is “Something Special” you’ll be “head-over-heels” for! CAW! BET THIRTEEN AMIGOS on that! I know, I’m repeating myself … but the fun is just beginning and I can’t wait for 2008!

Yeah, it's a real shame this is what Indiana Beach is getting. I can only hope they end up with Buyers Remorse after IAAPA and get something better, like a Churro Stand.

 

That is unless this is *MUCH* better than the Screamin Squirrel, but it sure doesn't look it.

Screaming Squirrel SUCKED!!! And this looks like the same concept, so I have zero confidence that it will be any better. They could put a pile of broken glass there, and you'd have a better time crawling around in it than riding anything remotely like the SS.

I actually liked the screamin squirrel, I rode it at the S&S factory before it was moved to Italy. Maybe they made some changes to when it was relocated. Anyways the new concept looks interesting, maybe a little uncomfortable but I am sure it will be better than a pile of glass

My issue with the Screamin Squirrel was just that it was boring and not fun. I mean, you go up a lift hill, go straight, go slowly down a hill, hang upsidedown slowly, get right side up slowly...repeat too many times.

 

It felt more like a bad flat ride than anything else.

Yeah, but this is Indiana Beach. Maybe they'll find a way to crank it to "11", like they do with all their other rides.

^Yeah, because Cornball Express, LoCoSuMo, the Falling Star, the Double Shot, the Music Express, the Paratrooper, the Ferris Wheel, etc are all forceless and boring. Indiana Beach is well known for cranking their rides up. They have one mediocre woodie. So what.

Not to mention a couple things. 1. that take really good care of that average woodie. 2. They made so much off having that woodie they have been able to add several more rides.

 

I mean IB have five credits is pretty amazing when you think about it.

Yeah, I want to be clear here. I LOVE Indiana Beach! That's why I'm concerned about this installation. That being said, I do have faith in Indiana Beach and hope they know something we all don't!

 

Heck, if a Cedar Fair park got one of these, I wouldn't even post or care!

Yeah, I should clear that up, too. I love IB and everything about it, but something about this just doesn't look "right". Heck, I even liked the Hoosier Hurricane for what it is, but I'm much more a fan of Cornball Express.

I loved Indiana Beach when I was there in the summer, and I'll be interested to see the end result of the development, whatever it may be.

 

Fitting in where the Chaos once ran should be interesting!

Interesting, and while it may be a bad design, it will certainly be unique. I'll admit that the Screamin Squirrel is a bad coaster, and the El Loco, while not a big improvement, looks somewhat fun. Sure it will not rank high on favorite coasters, but it offers a nice gimmick. No other coaster in the country will be like this, and that will get the GP in line.

I always thought the Screamin Squirrel looked good, but hey, sounds like it sucks! Anywho, the El Loco thing doesn't look like much of an improvement over the SS, but hopefully IB can make it awesome like I hear they do to everything else.

I'm in agreement with you Elissa - The Screaming Squirrels leave me totally flaccid. However I do trust Indy Beach, and I read somewhere that these new Screaming Squirrels are supposed to be more like a Euro-Fighter; maybe it won't be so bad?

 

After all, this is a park with a Galaxi that kicks-bottom!

Looks interesting, to say the least.

 

As for hwo they'll fit it in, I heard a rumor about IB going remove the Galaxi, so... That could be a hint.
