ComplexAudio99
Great TR so far. I love the captions. Its amazing all the stuff you can do in Japan, but can't do in the US. The chairlifts are so cool, especially with the awesome no handle bar, and also how you have to turn the chairs in the train. I can't wait to see whats next! Nrthwnd
I think that when most of us on the tour figured out that the Wheels in most parks didn't take alllll day to ride (i.e 12-18 min' a complete turn?), we were game for most of them. But those ones with special A/Cs attached... mmmm, those were very very niiice. And I would have liked to have tried that open-air seating chair (one of two?) on Kijima's wheel? You got to ride that didn't you, Bob? Hope there's a pic of that.

gisco
Day 5 Typhoon Day This was another 3 park day, Central Park, Tegarayama Yuen and Kurashiki Tivoli Park. This was one of our earliest starting days, 5:30 A.M. For the last few days we had been in Southern Japan. Today were were going to head North a few hundred miles to Osaka area and hit a few parks before continuing North a hundred miles or so to Nagoya that night. Also for the last few days we had been keeping an eye on a typhoon that was headed our way. For a while I thought the Typhoon was going to pass just South of Japan. I figured if we could get those parks out of the way then today when we head North would put us farther from the storm. Unfortunately the typhoon turned North the day before and was now expected to make land tonight somewhere North of Nagoya. We headed out and hoped for the best. 2 out of 3 parks were fun. The other park operated under the Knotts rule that if it looks like rain close the coasters. All in all not a bad day. We got back to the train station early. It was a mad house. Trains heading North towards the typhoon were bing canceled. There were thoughts that we might have to sleep in the station. I actually thought that might be pretty cool. I think Robb & Elissa were contemplating paying for taxis for us to get us to our hotel or try taking the local trains. In the end we we got on a train headed in the right direction with standing room only. After a few long stops at stations we finally made it to our hotel around 11 that night. Our longest day of the trip. So ends another day at a beautiful park Yeah, we know your number 1 Kidtums scores her first credit. .... on this coaster and I use the term coaster loosly Tivoli Park where history was made ... On to a better park, we took lots of trains on this trip. When I went to bed at night and closed my eyes it felt like I was on a train 3rd coaster, CLOSED. One of the worst parts of the park is that R&E paid 100 yen admission each for us and they didn't bother to tell us all the rides were closed 2nd coaster CLOSED. This one looks like it hadn't been open in a while. Tegarayama Yuen - first coaster, CLOSED A lot of these parks were in beautiful areas Chuck, don't touch! Why are 3 guys all behind Lou in the haunted house? Only the mailman is in front and what is that look on Chris's face? It was not very crowded Chris loves the front Hurricane, I wonder if they know that it is the same thing as a typhoon Diavlo, Not the best B & M but still fun Central Park, not sure way it says East Side Park ... except for the homeless Empty train station this early in the morning ..... Our early start. Our baggage went on ahead by truck while we visited the parks.
gisco
Today was Universal. You would never have known that a typhoon had gone through the night before. This park was very nice ans a lot of fun. It was like Universal Orlando with some IOA thrown in. I liked the new B&M, Hollywood Dream. Nice air on some parts. I would have liked to ride it more but the Japanese Parks liked to close their rides on time. So if there was an hour wait for the ride and the park closes at 8:00 then they close the line at 7:00. I missed a third ride by about 5 minutes. Before catching the train back to the hotel that night, Lou was kicking butt at the drum game. I really liked this coaster You can get pretty close to the coaster My favorite B&M at this park. Some how I think there is something missing between step 3 and 4 Snoopy's Great Race Coaster is soooo fast! I understand that this is also the place to pick up chicks. Right Joey? This caption intentionately left blank This one actually spits at you ... dinosaurs. Surprised? Probably not. And behind these gates are ... Practicing his driving skills He is checking to see if the car is male or female Ryan is excited! Awesome dark ride even in Japanese No caption needed, right Chuck? No Luck Some were praying for an empty park Twins! Better then Thing 1 and Thing 2 .... Ok not really .... we must be at Universal! If this is City Walk then ..... This morning the station was crowded unlike the day before

gisco
On our 7th full day in Japan it was off to Parque Espana. Home to my favorite coaster on the trip, Pyreneses. The mine train, Gran Montserrat was really good too. Nice park, not a lot of shade around so it gets a little warm in the sun. Is this what Spain is really like? Ok Chuck, you can push this button I wonder if the Japanese really know what half the stuff they ware really says or Dan and his 6 shooter? On the way back to the hotel, Ryan and Dan get into a rubber band fight. WHo do you think won? Ryan and his single shot finger? Great views I love this sign, WARNING then the rest is in Japanes. No clue what the warning was for. Parade with funny looking floats I wonder it this will stop the escalator? The now famous Escalator Ride. I can hear that music now! Silly people! POTC knock off. This ride had a pretty cool drop at the end. Peter Pan knock off The log flume was cool. They wiped down the log before you get in so you don't sit in any water Not very crowded today Gran Montserrat Pyrenees

gisco
Nagashima Spaland This is where the Alvey's rock on the trips. We got in the park before the public and got to take a few rides on White Cyclone and Steel Dragon. I really liked Steel Dragon. Nice air on those little hills coming back into the station. It was nice to see it finally open again. The park is Ok but the next time I would like to go to their water park. It looked like it would be more fun then the amusement park rides. Nagoya Zoo This was mostly a credit run. The kiddie coaster was powered so no credit. But it did have plenty of leg room. The Jet coaster was ... just a jet coaster with far less leg room then the kiddie coaster. Credit! The Slope Shooter was very interesting. I'm not sure that this one counts as a credit. The funny thing about the whole day is I took very few pictures. They were even letting babies on this thing. Smile Chuck. They grab onto you car when you come into the station to brake you Coaster or not? Nagoya Zoo and Slope Shooter, they push you over to the lift hill We thought about taking this to get to Nagoya Zoo but opted for the taxi and trains This kiddie coaster wasn't to crowded or nobody wanted to ride with Ryan. As long as the person in front of you doesn't go to slow They are a lot of fun Bobkarts! Like you couldn't tell from the sign. Why is Jeff so excited? He missed the left side of the mouse the last time he was here. Nice pops of air time here Yes, it is running today! We are so close and first in line Nice to not see a fence in the way Welcome to Nagashima Spaland See the people waiting to get in the park, Ha, we are already in! I think the guy likes Barry Once again we start out on a train but had to take a taxi to the park.
gisco
After 23 straight days of work it is back to the updates. Today was another 2 park day as we head back towards Tokyo. Lagunasia and Hamanako Pal Pal. Both parks were small, not very crowded and a lot of fun. I would definitly go back to both. Lagunasia had a waterpark built in the middle of it. Which was empty this time of year. The log flume was a water ride. I got pretty wet. Not Dan approved. They had a shooting dark ride that at the end the car would rotate one way or the other depending on how good your score was. The first time I was bad and saw the scarey scene and the second time did better and saw the happy scene. At Hamanako Pal Pal it looked like it was going to rain but it held off and we got all our credits. The place had the best flat ride on the trip. We spent a lot of time riding trying to get an inversion out of it. Most of us were successful. The day ended and we were back in Tokyo Why are these two all alone? Guys, that is not a credit Jahan! Best flat ride on the trip! Jeff either liked the ride or was glad he lived through it Ok Rich, you can put your hands down now Stick'em up! The bat flyer had no bats Good view of Mega Coaster and the Batflyer On to Hamanako Pal Pal and Mega Coaster Steller Coaster Jeff the loner Part indoor and out door coaster Aqua Wind Meat Cow meet meet Sushi Fish also home of Magical Powder and With the water park in the center Lagunasia! Once again the day starts in a crowded train station
gisco
Today we rearranged our itinerary. We were supposed to go to Fuji-Q but bad weather was forecast for the next couple of days. Knowing that rain would shut the rides down at Fuji-Q we opted to go to Disney Through the bad weather. The gamble paid off. It did rain for the first couple of days at Disney but most of the rides are indoors and it doesn't shut the park down. The weather was good at Fuji-Q four days later and the coasters were all open. Next up Tokyo Disneyland I should have taken a picture of my watch. It was 17:20. Your Fastpass would be good in 40 minutes or you could wait the Stanby line which was 40 minutes. You decide. Indoor kids area, very cool. Try the Seasalt Icecream here Some cute kid we ran into that day It was only a 30 minute wait. I'm sure the fastpass line was at least that long. This is looking back along the line. You can see the Tower way back there. This is the line for Tower of Terror ... for the FastPass tickets Todays crowd to whore the kiddie coaster If you thought it might be Disneyland today, Nope it's DisneySea today and funny looking rings to hold onto Another train to start the day, ok. monorail with funny windows

gisco
The photo halfway down on page 5 thats captioned "best flat ride on this trip" What exactly did it do? Id there a generic name for it? Im a flat ride fan. Don't remember who made the ride. Others on the trip knew, I just don't remember. The ride is like an Enterprise. The seating is side by side. When the wheel rotates the cars swing out and will lock in place. The wheel will tilt and then the cars will unlock causing them to swing. If your one of the lucky ones the car will do a complete 360. I could only get mine to do it once but others couldn't get it to do it at all and still others got three 360's out of it. gisco
Tokyo Disneyland Is an awesome park. Even the first couple of days in the rain didn’t stop anyone from having a good time. They do a super job operating the park with crowds or rain or both. We happened to catch the opening of the park for Halloween. The park was all decorated nicely and they let adults dress up too. They would come as their favorite Disney Character. Sometimes it was hard to tell which a was a cast member and which was a guest. The Japanese love their parades. It seems like one was going on every couple of hours. People would start lining up for them that early too. It was nuts because they would occur 3 or 4 times that day. People could join in on the parades but they have so many people wanting to be in them they pick by lottery Lou doing her best Japanese impression on the way back to the hotel So ends another day Wes! Never enough castle pics Hotel they are building right outside the enterance and Chip and Dale The night parade with Mickey Speaking of Lou ... Autopia wa pretty lame. They had signs that you were not to bump the car in front of you. Only problem was the cars had sensors and when you got to close you would stop. Not as good as the park where Lou rear ended me. You can actually see part of DisneySea from Disneyland 3 Done! 2 Starting coaster pics ... 1 Line to get a fastPass for Space Mountain And there working trolly Even Toontown All decked out for Halloween Here is looking back from the steps of the castle Full size castle. The park is huge. See the pimpkin. Tokyo Disneyland
gisco
Fuji Q or Fuji Queue. Read Robb’s review of this park. I agree with about 95% of it. This was my second visit to this park and the lines were terrible again.. It was about an hour wait for Fujiyama another hour for Dodonpa and over 3 hours for Eejanaika. Lots of concrete and no themeing. Not A park I would want to go back to. The one part I disagree with Robb on is Eejanaika. I actually liked it and would have liked to ride it again. But not with a 3 hour wait. That made the ride not worth it. I did find it better the X at Magic Mountain. I did not find Dodonpa’s launch to be to extreme. It was just a waste to get so much speed and not do anything with it. It just kind of meanders around and over the top hat and that’s it. Sea Paradise Blue Fall, best drop tower I have ever been on. I don’t care much for the false drop side. I prefer the straight drop. You get a great view from the top. I think I like drop towers because it is one of the few things that still scare me to ride. Surf Coaster is a fun ride with it’s 900 degree helix of death. The Japanese seem to love helixes, they are on a lot of rides. Cosmoworld. This is a cool park at night with all the lights. The coasters are just so so but it is a fun place. It has really expanded a lot since the last time I was there. They have put a little money to improving the part that was on the other side of the canal. A nice place to spend an evening. So ends another day with the Three Wise men or the Three Stooges, you make the call Anyone know what this coaster is? Yet another ice house It is made for kids That says Bannana Coaster Cosmoworld, like you couldn't read the sign BlueFall is really high A crowd at the sealife show Surf Coaster I took this picture of the band practicing and didn't notice Bill and Mike in the picture until I started posting this update. BlueFall at Sea Paradise Mt Fuji. Picture could have been better if I would have waited for a Coaster onr for the mechanical geeks I wonder if the Japanese really know what these signs say I see him now If it is a kiddie coaster then where is Jeff? The line looked like it should have been no more then 15 minutes and it was 45! Low caoacity mouse Zola 7 cars. Only Geo Panic is worse Chuck is more excited about the chips then the coasters What is an update with out a really cute kid I like this better then X Oh %&$#@. Well Dave is easy to spot so is Gus but can you find Barry? Eejanaika, not much of a crowd ... Fujiyama, the only picture I have of the coaster Fuji Queue
