kraken613 Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 I was thinking the turn would be more like MM's turn.
Vffreak07 Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Me too but I heard they were kinda jerky. Ours looks smooth and fun!
kraken613 Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Our horeshoe turn is smooth as silk! I really like it because it really gets you at the top because its so steep and you on your side! Its the turn after that that is kinda jerky!
Looty Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Update with pics from today. http://www.thrillnetwork.com/boards/showthread.php?p=746359&posted=1#post746359
kraken613 Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Thats alot Looty! This ride looks awsome! What are the generator looking things below the drop off the MCBR? Maybe we will see drop construction this week? Maybe even a compleated track?
Looty Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 ^Those used to be for the Mystery Mine Ride...not quite sure what they are going to do with them now.

Looty, thanks for the continued updates and it's a wonder I didn't see you today on the web cam. Well, not that I would've recognized you at only a few pixels in size, but, judging by the sun in the pics, I was watching then. Found some pics today of what the area used to look like before all the construction (I'd never seen it) and thought these would underscore how different everything is. Wow. What a difference. At the back to the left of the Ferris Wheel
Looty Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Construction pictures from tonight: http://www.thrillnetwork.com/boards/showthread.php?p=746406&posted=1#post746406
TheRapidsNerd Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 ^ Thanks Looty! Much appreciated. ^Those used to be for the Mystery Mine Ride...not quite sure what they are going to do with them now. Curious. Mystery Mine gets replaced by a Euro Fighter coaster. Another Euro fighter coaster, made by the same company, is called Mystery Mine at another park. Somehow, this all traces back to Kevin Bacon.

Maybe we should change Mystery Mine to simply Motion Stimulator before we ended up by Kevin Bacon. Air time? Quite possibility but it looks awfully small. Maybe a quick pop of airtime that's barely noticeable but hey, lets wait and see until we ride it!
Sticky Nicky Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 There are going to be killer headchoppers on this ride.

I found this old Brochure from the park, Knott's Camp Snoopy, before it even opened. Also a map of the park in it's early days. Even though I think Camp Snoopy was cool in its day and time, the change to Nickelodeon is much needed. My kids are much more familiar and interested in Sponge Bob (as am I) compared to Snoopy and Charlie Brown.
jarmor Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 I'm wondering what those doors will lead to...
haiderodes Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 I always thought it was interesting that the original incarnation of this park was like a mini Knott's Berry Farm. For the longest time it seemed like a museum of the great Knott's flat rides of the 80's and 90's...Gran Slammer vs. Screaming Yellow Eagle, Tampico Tumbler vs. Treeline Tumbler (or whatever they call it), Hammerhead vs. Mighty Axe, Slingshot vs. Kite Eating Tree and the coasters Jaguar vs. Ripsaw.
Golfie Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Does anyone know of an exact opening day? It seems like they're pretty much just going to be making adjustments to brakes, the lift, and adding scenery once the track is laid.
Sticky Nicky Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 The opening day of Nickelodeon Universe is currently Friday, March 14th, just one day away from Timberland Twisters 4th birthday.
kraken613 Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Im looking forward to some dropage or loopage going up tonight!
Adrenaline_Rush Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 This coaster would make spongebob proud!
TheRapidsNerd Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Im looking forward to some dropage or loopage going up tonight! I'll support that. yuk yuk... rolling d6...a 5. I do not blow up for that. Not too much left to install on Plunge, then it's whatever scenery. More of those wall coverings are up today. Been fun following this amid my sleep deprived states. Looking forward to the thing running. Also, I wonder if they'll leave the webcams up after the conversion.
coasterdude5 Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 More of Spongebob's background has been put up. I wonder why they're leaving gaps in between the panels.
coastercrazed49 Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Looking good. I hope they do fill in the gaps between the background it would make it look a little better.
steel Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 I found this old Brochure from the park, Knott's Camp Snoopy, before it even opened. Also a map of the park in it's early days. That's how I remember Camp Snoopy. My prime years there were before Timberland Twister.
haiderodes Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 More of Spongebob's background has been put up. I wonder why they're leaving gaps in between the panels. You know I was thinking they are doing gap thing on purpose. Looks kinda cool to me.
