Looty
^^^I agree with you about the increase in price for the season passes. I have a few friends that work in Guest Relations that absolutely dred having to inform returning annual pass holders that the price will be increasing that much. It's crazy. The only good thing I can say about it is that it's good for 364 days of the year, not just a summer season like every other park. We will certainly see what happens. steel
^Will the price of unlimited ride bands increase? If not, it would take eleven visits to pay for a pass. That's ridiculous, especially compared to the three or maybe four visits to a Cedar Fair or Six Flags park that it takes.
Looty
^Prices on everything are going up! In fact, I've heard that the current point range (3-6 points per ride) is also incresing to 7 points for the "big" rides. Also, the new food court is getting rid of Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, KFC and everything else in favor of "new gourmet meals" including salads, pasta dishes, wraps, and more. So if it costs $7 for a Pizza Hut combo now...What do you think it's gonna cost for a veggie wrap combo? Although I have heard that the new food supplier, Levy Foods, is very good. I guess they have catered super bowls, all star games, and other big events...so we'll see.
timberskara
Thanks for the insight, Looty. All I can really do is hope something gives. Not that I can't afford $250, but I simply refuse to pay it. A Universal Orlando annual pass for both parks is $189, and they have TONS more to offer than Nick Universe. Also, assuming the all-day wristband price increases drastically too, I fear they may lose the crowd that decide to do the park once they are already at the mall. I'm not an expert, but I'm guessing that percentage is pretty considerable. The lower admission price of $25ish made that decision not overly difficult, but if we're talking $40-$60 bucks, I'd be willing to bet a lot less MOA guests will consider it. Guess we will just have to wait and see!

Excited to see the new food, though. I hope it will be good.
Sticky Nicky
It looks like the Tree Swing is just about done with it's paint job. This may be the last project they work on before the new rides because Looty said that track and supports will start coming in on Sunday. The Que Path for Avatar looks as though it is in an early stage of being built. I think it is that long path on concrete to the right of the hole. Looty
WE HAVE TRACK!!! There are 4 large blue-ish pieces of Avatar (Half Pipe) track sitting in the north parking lot across the street from the mall. I'll be sure to bring my camera to work tomorrow and get some pictures. I'm not certain, but I would expect vertical construction to start before the end of December.

alpengeist04
Too bad the annual passes are going to be freaking ridiculous at $250-- up from $109 in '07. OMG!!! That's ridiculous!!! I can get a 2 year season pass to both BGT and Seaworld for $240. ...and that includes free parking.

Sticky Nicky
Looty, are the track pieces in the IKEA parking lot or the lot by the main Mall of America sign? Or maybe somewhere else completly. I know TT's track was stored over at IKEA.
Looty
They are sitting in the parking lot near the main MOA sign (east of Ikea...directly north of the East parking ramp). Just drive down Lindau Ln. and you should see them. They kind of stick out like a sore thumb. Anyways...i took a couple pictures this morning around 8:00. Notice that a few of the track pieces fade from one color to another. I'll keep my camera with me this week because we are supposed to be receiving Gerstlauer track along with supports for the drop tower. http://www.thrillnetwork.com/boards/showthread.php?t=41403&page=
Sticky Nicky
Here is a link to more photos taken by Allen at CoasterCravers. The track photos are almost the same as looty's, but Allen also has some inside the park shots as well. The Tree Swing has also reopened with it's not as impressive paint scheme. http://www.coastercravers.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=23&p=1037#p1037

DATman
Looks like Avatar is the smaller version of the Half Pipe. If you look, the track is still curving at the ends, whereas in larger versions, the track is straight.
