GMAN962
So my brother is browsing Youtube for coaster videos, and he comes across this: Link I'm thinking-WTF!? But then, I noticed at the end (I don't know if it applies for all of them) that a couple were actually stationed in Iraq, and that Six Flags provided them with a wedding, since they did not have the money to have one. I think it's very strange to be married on Tatsu. -Mike
hemmy
I have actually seen this on a number of coasters There was a whole episode on some TV channel about it quite a while ago. A whole train of people got married on Mantis @ CP (pre-trims) on that day.
Steffen_Dk
Okay. Too weird in my opinion, however, people get married the weirdest places nowadays, so I guess it's quite normal - still I find it crazy..
Homer
Its because Six Flags had some promotion on July 7th to get people married on roller coasters. An interesting day, though I was not festive in the spirit of "OMG LUCKY 7!!" As for other occasions, I remember a couple a LONG time ago that got married on Montu, if I recall. BarryH
People get married everywhere -- on the beach, in McDonald's, underwater, sky diving, in a plane, on a cruise ship, by Elvis in Vegas, or at the Star Trek Experience. I don't find getting married on Tatsu unusual.
Guest
Hey, if they both love roller coasters then it's the perfect place for them to be married.
Loco
Haha that's so awesome. Those brides probably did their hair for hours so it can be ruined in 3 minutes. BTW that one bride "looks" pretty young for that chubby guy. (She looks 15!)
Masked_Maverick
I'd get married on a Coaster if I could, If you think about it marriage is like a Roller Coaster anyways. It has it's ups, downs, turns etc.
downunder
To each their own, certainly might be a lot cheaper than most weddings, a drive through wedding in Vegas would be good enough for me. Could have been weirder, someone could have gotten married to Tatsu, I could see Mantis man or some other weirdo doing that, consumation of that union would be ugly, and make a mess on one of the supports. Vekoma Fan Boy
^Doesn't regular consumation make a mess anyway? But I would actually like to get married on a roller coaster, and there were also people who got married on BORG.
Goliath513
I remember there was a joke about getting married on roller coasters in The Simpsons one time. "You wont get married on Colossus...just say it, it's me." *runs away crying*
CoasterFreakZac
That is so cool!!!That's like perfect for a wedding.Like Masked_Maverick said marriage has its ups and downs so its perfect. My future wedding would be at Holiday World.
arrowfanman
I cant decide if saying "We'll cover the cost of your wedding--if you get married on our ride in front of cameras", is generous or cruel. -Jahan
rosscoe
Was that a rodent at the end walking the bride and groom to there cake? What wonderful wedding photos that would make "Look mum i was given away by a Pig"
Freefallbestrideever
Little did all of these people know that 7/7/7 isn't all about good luck.......
EmBy
Cheers, have to give this a check later. Remember a couple doing this at Fantasy Island a few years ago too, all over the news it was. But sure beats a normal church wedding. They should stick the vicar in the front too and he could do the speech too . I suppose with weddings costing so much, most people would take a free one. RollercoasterTigger
A few people have been married on the pmbo in blackpool. If I could go back in time - we would have got married at Alton Towers or WDW, Florida - instead I had to follow what my family wanted
doublex98
wierd. But kind of cool...
bgwfreak
I think it's very strange to be married on Tatsu. -Mike This is quite a common thing actually. A bunch of couples got married on Borga few years back. I think a friend of Ted's got married on Boulder Dash last year. As much as I love coasters, I'd really rather not get married on any coaster...it's just too cheesy to me.
carolinacaniac
Melissa had heard about the promotion by Six Flags for 07/07/07. She thought I would have been begging her to agree to do it. But instead we went with the traditional church wedding. I don't think I would personally care to have done it any other way. But everyone has their choices, and those who chose to go with a coaster based wedding probably had a great time. Melissa and I had a great time with our plain old fashioned wedding, especially when her maid of honor passed out, that was a classic moment. kraxleRIDAH
Six Flags Over Georgia had the exact same ceremony event on 7/7/07 with Goliath, Six Flags Great Adventure with El Toro, Six Flags Over Texas with Titan, and Six Flags Great America with Raging Bull. This one I'm not too sure, but I also think Six Flags New England with Superman Ride of Steel.
coasterJunkie94
^ Wow im surprised Sfot did Titan as there ride i would rather have done Mr Freeze!
bgwfreak
^ So I guess the marriages on Borg are cursed? especially when her maid of honor passed out, that was a classic moment. Video????
carolinacaniac
^Not sure if anyone had a video camera there or not, but when we get back from Seattle and if her aunt Karen caught pictures from the moment, I will post them
coastercrazed49
That would be kind of cheesy I agree, but it would be kind of fun. Robb and Ellisa's wedding would be cool to have. But I dont have to worry about that now I am still a teen. Woo whoo 400th post!!
