Skramp Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 Ok, I searched before posting and didn't find anything, but who knows the way people list things, so this may be here already, but here goes. I know it's not incredibly theme park related, but we talk about the Stratosphere tower, so could you handle this? I know I couldn't. "The world's highest swing has been set up on an 1,100ft TV tower in China. The swing is set on a 700ft high viewing platform on the tower in Harbin city. Thrill seekers can sit on the steel seat and swing out over the city, beyond the edge of the platform. The tower is the world's second-highest steel tower, after the Kiev tower in Ukraine. The swing is named "Game for brave people". You better be strapped in for this one." http://www.thenewsvault.com/cgi/news.pl?t=970
PKI Jizzman Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 Hmm. No thanks! Though at my old house we had a swing go over a river. It was sweeeet! \ _<- swing started there and hung over a tree \_______/ ^river
cinciDAWGS12 Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 hmm....yea i could go for this swing i just would need to make sure the seatbelt thing works.
I love DW Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 I don't think I would do that I could pretty much handle any coaster but that doesn't look like something I would like.
bulldogmom Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 I'd do it- I love heights. But I'd hope they could come up with something more imaginative than a swing (like a real ride).
gnewton34 Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 Is it really just like a regular swing, something like on a playground? What would be cool would be a swing ride on the top of it like The Zephyr at King's Island. I'd totally ride that.
thrillrideseeker Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 I dont think I would do it. I mean its not that I have a problem with heights, Oh wait... yes I do. I was about to piss myself on X-Scream, but thats a whole other story. Anyways I would not do it because it looks so unsafe. I mean chains holding up something that looks about as strong as tin foil. I think I will pass on this one. UNLESS Tony and I rode it together! ~Matthew
HAYASHI Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 looks like fun.. even on a windy day. count me in! p.s. just make sure that harness is reliable. >=D
Masked_Maverick Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 That does not look Morbosity friendly so no I wouldn't do it.
benzo41190 Posted May 12, 2007 Posted May 12, 2007 About the whole chains being unsafe, if they work at 10 feet off the ground...it will be safe over 1,000 ft of the ground. Have you ever been on a swing that broke? So your chances of that swing breaking are REALLY slim. But hey, if its free Ill do it!
IceDragon Posted May 12, 2007 Posted May 12, 2007 it's a sight to be seen, done and checked off, but it's not overly imaginative, is it? From the image, it doesn't even look like you'r allowed to go very far over the edge...
californiascreamer1 Posted May 12, 2007 Posted May 12, 2007 WTf I wouldent do it unless my life depended on it. lol, The guy has a harness but the girl is hanging there
Louise Posted May 12, 2007 Posted May 12, 2007 AWESOME, I would so be loving that. Might be one of very very few things that make me nervous, but I'd totally do it. I love swings!
Cyber.Fiber Posted May 12, 2007 Posted May 12, 2007 Anyways I would not do it because it looks so unsafe. I mean chains holding up something that looks about as strong as tin foil. I think I will pass on this one. UNLESS Tony and I rode it together!~Matthew Look at the chains on the Star Flyer Rides, they are about half of the size of these ones on this swing and the seat concept is basically the same, And no deaths have happened on on them. So if you asked me, I would ride it but only after I inspected it to make sure there are no faulty pieces chains. Joseph.
