PKI Jizzman
On a side note, Son of Beast's onride photo as been moved from before the lift hill to where the loop was taken out. Finally! -J "Who puts a camera before the lift?!" Z If they put it anywhere else on the circuit, they'd have just gotten a bunch of pictures of people wincing in pain. Eh, it's still a mildly tolerable ride. There's just so many precautions and rules you need to follow to have an enjoyable ride. For the first time I came off it with a head ache on Saturday. -Don't lean back -Hang on to handle infront -Be able to take a shaking It's still a better ride than it's ever been...but I like it because of the speed. Hopefully I'll be able to venture away from that to something smoother next year...
Reon
I was just there yesterday (busy day). Got in a ride on Beast and Vortex and had to call it a day because of long lines and Crypt was still down As for construction, nothing new to report, but maybe JZ will catch something I missed today. I'd love to meet up with you in the park, but my 'friends' are basically giving me no chance to do what I want at all.
PKI Jizzman
well besides no pictures, I noted that Italian Job now has new black restraints, unlike last year's orange ones. Oh....Drop Zone is....SPINNING again! Last year or some time before that, the motor that makes the ride rotate was broken. Well now it's fixed! Drop Zone offers 360* park views again! ginzo
Eh, it's still a mildly tolerable ride. What a ringing endorsement! Yeah, I'm familiar with G-train riding technique, but why would I waste my time? I'd rather save my time and money to go ride something that I enjoy. jamesdillaman
^ Or even something worth riding! Even if it was smooth as glass, the layout just leaves so much to be desired. I don't mind riding a rough woodie, as long as it's a good coaster! If SoB wasn't rough, people would find themselves asleep by the end of the second helix. -James Dillaman
supertrooper
^ I completely agree. The first time I rode SOB was with my 13 year old nephew, who is not a coaster enthusiast, and even he commented that "It just kind of does the same thing over and over." He was so right. I wish they would just tear it down.
bhartley
Every time I ride it in the front it is not rough. Boring ??? Maybe for some. But personally i still like the ride. Everyone has there own oppinion
jamesdillaman
^ Yeah, I understand, but I maintain that people who have this ride in their top ten wooden coasters need to ride more wooden coasters, or at least take a trip through Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee, because I can think of many coasters that have much more layout wise to offer: Thunder Run (SFKK) Kentucky Rumbler (Beech Bend) Thunderhead (Dollywood) Voyage (HW) Raven (HW) Legend (HW) Cornball Express (Indiana Beach) Heck even the Hoosier Hurricane goes over the water... Making it infinitely more interesting than SoB. If you like a big drop, ride Voyage. I know everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion, but if someone can honestly say they like the first drop on SoB more than Voyage's drop, I'd be surprised. -James Dillaman

The Racer is repetitive, going up and down and I like it, but something I've seen different this year is consistently a 20-40 minute wait for SoB. It's got speed and height. I like that. jamesdillaman
^ You haven't riden Voyage, yet, though, which only strengthens my point What's going on with the construction? I would imagine after the land clearing is done they should start some work on the electrical, etc. -James Dillaman
Reon
^^Some of the best rides are a bit repetitive. Right now, my favorite coaster is Phoenix at Knoebels, and thats pretty much hill, turn, hill, turn, double up double down, turn, hils, turn. It looks boring from the outside, but once you ride, INSANE AIR TIME!!!!!! That being said, I hate Son Of Beast.

PKI Jizzman
Oh yeah, massive clearing back by SoB's fist big helix; aka the boneyard. Don't see anything going on right now, just about 2 or 3 acres cleared.
PKI Jizzman
Just found out I think it's going to be the future site of a Mini Golf course for the Great Wolf Lodge. I can't find the article, but I found it on KIC. -JZ

pyrocoasterkid
He wasn't saying that a putt putt course is going in near SOB.. The clearing by SOB is supposedly where they took some dirt to fill and level swan lake. He ws saying the putt putt is going into an area near Great Wolf Lodge. GWL is adding their own. jamesdillaman
^ Guess it would be too much to ask for a putt putt to go IN PLACE of SoB... - James Dillaman

PKI Jizzman
A mini TR for you all. Got to come in 2 hours before my shift yesterday and ride some rides. For my first ride on 'Invertigo' for this season. Wow, still one of my favorite rides at KI. The front seat is just an awesome intense ride! Can't wait to get on Batman Friday! Next I headed over to 'Drop Tower' and got three consecutive rides. Mmm...my favorite part of Kings Island. Love that drop! It's great that it's spinning on the way up again..7 more rides later for a total of 10. Safe to say I'm addicted? I think so. Went over to Son of Beast next. I've been really strict on getting the front seat to be safe. Well, I couldn't help but wonder how the back was. Previously, it wasn't much different...and even had some airtime to offer. So I skipped my little front seat 'safe zone' and headed for the back. All in all about a 20 minute wait. Heading up to the lift, very shaky. The drop was pretty good, a little bit of airtime. The helix was veryyy shaky, and the CBR has been on pretty hard this year, at least to what I think. The drop down to the second helix was pretty good, kinda unique. Second helix has always been fine, IMO. Up and around then swooping down gave a small pop, then head up into the brake run and then pulling around into the station. I'm going to have to go with the front seat for this ride. I don't think it's rough, and the ride never seems to bother me. I have fun on pretty much every coaster ride. I just love coasters! I totally get why people say it's boring, but hey..it's still a fun coaster in my opinion. It's got a nice big drop, and doesn't let up on the speed and lateral g's. I'll ride this pretty much every park visit, but I'm sticking to the front...don't see any reason to change now. Oh, on the way down the tower on Drop Tower, I felt a really sharp sting before we hit the brakes. Well, I looked around and got out of my seat and found a quarter. I had a nice welt on my neck for the rest of the day. Thanks jackass! Listen to the laws and rules of both the STATE and PARK people! I know the coin trick is tempting, but seriously...go watch the video with the guy making the banana float on Goliath and Superman at SFMM! -J 'Getting ready for Acrophobia on Friday!!' Z Oh, and I kept the quarter.
FeelTheFORCE
Cool TR! I, too, will be riding a B:TR on Friday! Have fun at SFOG, while I will have fun at GADV. They sure are intense and fun rides. That sucks about the quarter, I remember one flying past my head on Superman at SFMM from someone in a row behind me. I'll be at KI in 2 weeks, can't wait! Bolliger&Mabillard
^ I got hit in the chest with a cell phone while working at Xcelerator. (Standing at Load 1 position, which is in front of the Christmas tree). I almost got hit with a PSP training someone at Tatsu and performing a Gate-Walk. NINCUB
^I had actually planned going to SFOG this Friday too, but the 2 friends that was going with me backed out. Since my Jeep gets bad gas mileage and the fact I would hate to go by myself.... I've decided not to go. I went this past Saturday and the wait times were pretty okay, except for Superman, which to me is slow and boring and not worth more than a 15 min wait. Then it broke down, so I am guessing the 90 min wait was b/c of technical difficulties. The longest wait might have been GASM or Batman... 30-40 mins... which wasn't too bad. Goliath's wait isn't bad at all at the opening and closing of the park.... 5-10mins... Friday should not be too bad since it is a week day, but school is out now so ya never know. Skull Island was really the busiest as it was so hot. We had to wait about 20 mins... as they were maxed.... Have a great time... The weather will be hot with no rain on Friday! jamesdillaman
NINCUB, Have you seen the hidden NIN logo at KI? It's above what I think is a Starbucks now, across from the International Showplace. -James Dillaman
NINCUB
I actually will be going there for the first time in about 2 weeks... and I haven't even heard of a hidden NIN logo?! Very interesting. I will so have to check that out and get a pic of it. So why would KI have a hidden NIN logo? Did it have something to do with Paramount? Very cool though... thanks for that tid bit! :0) I am excited to see that at the park.
