Virtual barber shop, NOTHING jumps out, this is crazy though, it makes you feel like you are actually there, and you can hear exactly where the person is talking, and their distance and such, it is insane, I caught myself looking around to see if they were actually there!

You have to use headphones though, otherwise it doesn't work.

It's not even a video, just an audio file, so, you have my word, no screams or anything at all, trust me.

My bad, can this be moved to the Random thread?

^Doesn't work...

Yes it does! Do you have a Mac? It uses Windows Media Player for me, I'm not sure what it will for you.

I just clicked the link, it works fine.

AAAAAAAAAAH THAT SCARED THE CRAP OUTTA ME!!!!!!!!!!!! I jumped at the begining and pulled it off..... lets see if I can get through it

The dude in the background talking got me. I almost thought someone was actually talking to someone in the house somewhere...and the buzzer...those are weird to my ears in real life and so was the one on the audio file.

Binaural stuff is extremely cool. If you like this, check out the "3-D Sound" version of Stephen King's The Mist, with headphones. It's insane, especially the part with the earthquake. The only issue I have with that one is that the kid's voice is extremely irritating and they have a tendancy to blatantly describe what's going on. However, the sucking sounds are fantastic.

Eek, that brought a chill up my spine.

The whisper at the end literally made me jump, and I knocked over the speakers with which my headphones were connected.

If anybody hasn't seen this yet.... Watch it! It's great!

Uh..you dont watch it, you hear it! So go listen!!

I thought it was pretty neat. The bag and the wisper was the best. What was the word he wispered?

That was pretty awesome. I'm not sure what word he whispered at the end either. The electric razor was so cool!

This is just like Sounds Dangerous with Drew Carey at MGM Studios. The same technique is used.

I was seriously laughing my A$$ off and squarming in my chair at the same time. It's SOOOOO creepy I kept looking everywhere. The finger snapping was so realistic, and when he whispered because it was louder I could feel the vibration in my headphone, and it felt just like someones breath.

i imagine it was inspired by the Moments with Mr. Lincoln that they had at Disneyland. THey had a scene where they had some guy cut your hair and he would wisper in your ear and everything and it sounded like it was there. It sounded better then this, imo.

Sounded to me like it could just be Dolby Headphone or something at the beginning, but the two mic thing makes a lot of sense.

Still pretty sweet technology though.

Edit - I read the first post, but I am paranoid about freaking out, is there anything that will scare me sh...ermmm, poopless?

No. People are just getting weirded out because of how incredibly realistic it sounds, it's just like you're in a barbershop...

Nah, unless you have some phobia of Italian barbers. Nothing jumps out or scares you, it's just two guys explaining the technology and demonstrating its potential using the sounds of clippers, buzzers, etc. It's realistic enough to make one mildly squirm, but it definately won't scare you "poopless".
