imawesome1124 Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 My prediction: If the Penguins come back to win the series they will go on to win the Stanley Cup.
Jew Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Given the Kings history, I'm now officially worried since the Canucks found life in their power play (and the Sedin sisters are reunited).
QueerRudie Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Ugh... Playoff Beard: Â Playoff Beard... Â GO CAPS!
DerekRx Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Yay, playoff beard picture time! Pre-playoffs Current playoffs beard, no shaving since April 9
Sir Clinksalot Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Playoff Beard!!! (Still pissed the Kings don't play until Sunday ... stupid scheduling)
Jew Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 ^Blame Canada. They booked Coldplay Friday and Saturday. Guess they didn't have faith in their team...
beatle11 Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 I'm glad Shanahan made an example here. Â http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=393821 Â TORRES SUSPENDED 25 GAMES FOR LATE HIT TO HEAD ON HOSSA Â The axe has fallen on Phoenix Coyotes forward Raffi Torres. Â Torres was suspended 25 games for launching himself to deliver a late hit that sent Chicago's Marian Hossa to the hospital during Game 3 of the Coyotes-Blackhawks series on Tuesday night. Â Should the 25 games not be served by the conclusion of the 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs, the remaining games of the suspension will carry over into next regular season. Torres will also be prohibited from playing in any preseason games until he has served this 25-game suspension (playoff and regular-season games). Â The hit came at 11:42 of the first period in Game 3 after Hossa had passed the puck in the neutral zone. Â More than half a second later, Torres launched himself and appeared to catch Hossa's head on the the hit. Â Hossa was taken from the ice on a stretcher and released from hospital a couple hours later with "encouraging results," according to the Blackhawks. Hossa did not play in Game 4 and did not make the trip to Phoneix for Game 5 on Saturday either. Â Torres has already served one game of the suspension - Game 4 of the series in Chicago on Thursday. He had one goal and an assist and averaged over 19 minutes of ice time for Phoenix in the first three games of the series. Â Torres has a history of crossing the line with hits and had been previously suspended twice and fined once in the past 13 months alone.
imawesome1124 Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 After watching the explanation I think that this isn't enough. This is his sixth suspension and all of them have been similar to this, two of those happened earlier this season. He should be gone from the league completely.
beatle11 Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 ^I'm betting that this is his last warning. Â In other news, who bet that two #1 seeds and a #2 seed would be up against the ropes in the first round?
beatle11 Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 ^Yeah, I saw that a few days ago. Whoever made that is my hero!
Jew Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 Wait, what just happened? The Kings won a playoff series??
Top Thrill Dragster Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 GO KINGS! History was made, this is the worst loss that a Presidents trophy team has suffered in the first round! Previously it was the Sharks losing to the Ducks in six games. Â Â Dean Lombardi's job is safe for at least another year. Â I was wrong about Sutter, he is not Terry Murray 2.0. He completely out coached Vigneault. So glad he is coach now. Â Â And Quick better win Vezina, he was phenomenal this series. Â Â Bring on the Blues!
AllenA07 Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 Vezina is voted on before the playoffs. So not much hope Quicker steals it.
imawesome1124 Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 Caps are done. At least the Penguins were also eliminated.
BaMiTsPaT Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 Just out of curiosity, who do you guys think will win the Calder?
imawesome1124 Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 I think Landeskog will win it. For the Selke I think Bergeron will win. We all know Malkin will win the Hart. Lundqvist or Rinne will win the Vezina. Karlsson will win the Norris.
beatle11 Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 If RNH had played the full season, he'd probably be running away with the Calder, but as it is Landeskog is my pick. Malkin for Hart easy. Lundqvist for Vezina, but Quick has an outside chance. Probably Karlsson for Norris, but Weber has an outside shot. And I like Bergeron for the Selke, although Datsyuk always has a shot at it.
attack7 Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 The 'Hawks game is killing me right now. Killing me!
mr. cockblock Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 One step closer to my dream scenario Stanley Cup Final, Flyers vs. Kings. LETS GO FLYERS!!!!
Philrad71 Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 I was a bit surprised by some of the Boston fans reaction to Joel Wards winning goal for the Caps through racist Tweets and throwing sh%t on the ice last night. Not that I'm a fan of either team, but that was definitely an embarrassment for the Bruins and city of Boston. Â Need someone remind them that they won the Cup a year ago? You'd think being a Boston fan they would know how hard it is to win back to back championships and accept it more gracefully than that. Â Now Philly & NY fans I would pretty much expect that from, but not Boston fans!
BaMiTsPaT Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 Where'd that guy go who was talking about being a Coyotes fan a few months ago? Congratulations on making it past the first round!
