Golfie Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 Yesterday I was bundled up in a huge winter coat... today I'm walking around outside in short sleeves! Some visual aids to help you understand why I hate Wisconsin: If you looked up ugly in the dictionary, you would find "Wisconsin" in the definition. Anyone want to guess what is mutating down there? This used to be an armchair. Want some soup? Mailbox checks into rehab for the second time this week for "snow plow battle damage". I am in a T-SHIRT! The ground is ugly, brown, and soaking wet.
Homer Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 How can you be so condescending of your own state, especially since you have the Wisconsin State Fair. Just thank god you do not live in Massachusetts and have to go to the Enka Fair.
Golfie Posted March 12, 2007 Author Posted March 12, 2007 The only good thing about WSF is the cream puffs... other than that, I could take it or leave it. Simply said, I'd rather be living on Sanibel Island.
Homer Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 The only good thing about WSF is the cream puffs... other than that, I could take it or leave it. Simply said, I'd rather be living on Sanibel Island. You're dissing Dueling Balders and an EGF clone!?
Masked_Maverick Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 I have family in Wisconsin and I have got to say that for the most part it is a pretty boring state. Granted I have yet to go to the Dells ( I really want to) or see the Wisconsin State Fair.
bulldogmom Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 I hear you. Here in Pittsburgh, it's 60 degrees one day and 20 the next. My sinuses are killing me. There's nothing uglier than piles of brown, dirty snow laying around. But I do love cheese (Wisconsin)
arrowfanman Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 As I was just telling some best of friends, it's 93 degrees here. -Jahan
Luxo Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 How can you be so condescending of your own state, especially since you have the Wisconsin State Fair. Just thank god you do not live in Massachusetts and have to go to the Enka Fair. I'll bet the Arkansas State Fair is worse. Take your usual sketchy Wal-Mart patrons and multiply them by 100...
texashorns82492 Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 I have family in Wisconsin. The best thing about it is SFGA a couple of hours away
apollo210 Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 Just thank god you do not live in Massachusetts and have to go to the Enka Fair. Post of the month. Thank you for "bumping" the idea of the Enka Fair, the ghettoist fair in town! I just cannot wait until May when my ghetto town gets ghetto"er"! Thank goodness I got to go to some Irish Kick-ass fairgrounds. FUNDERLAND! Seriously, the rides were amazing. I'll explain later....
boothy Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 It was around 60 in Milwaukee today. Heat wave! Anyways, the WSF is great. The live entertainment is to be desired, but that's what Summerfest is for! Wisconsin is not THAT bad.
Golfie Posted March 13, 2007 Author Posted March 13, 2007 boothy's right - I was actually GLAD to have a fire drill today at school! But of course, if I hadn't said no to going to Florida, I'd be riding SheiKra... right. now.
apollo210 Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 ^At least you don't have Irish cousins who laugh at you because of 1/31, Having to go to Enka, have an overrated Six Flags park and live right next to a city where everyone is in collage. *sigh* MASSachusetts and its MASSholes suck.
easytoremember Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 Any state with Hades, Avalanche, and Cyclops is awesome in my book.
coasterman7 Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 Wisconsin can't be as bad as Michigan. Isn't there only Michigan's Adventure? And the last time I was up there they hadn't seen sunlight for 2 months!!
Masked_Maverick Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 ^ I agree Wisconsin is better than Michigan the only thing I like in Michagan is the Henry Ford. At least Wisconsin has family and awesome cheese.
Dailey Enterprizes Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 Michigan is where Jerome Bettis was from and where the Steelers won their last superbowl...
X-L-R-8 Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 golfie, bieng a wisconsinite myself, i say get used to it or move out of the state, and besides, wisconsin is cool! except for the sports teams, they suck!
benzo41190 Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 yeah, the weather is kind of bad around this time. You don't know whether to wear a coat or shorts. And I agree with the whole theme park things. You got SFGAm, and WI Dells like 3 hours apart...I have never went from the dells to SF in one drive but its pretty close, i think. But we have bad teams, expensive stadium with no use. The only thing good is... -Culver's -WI State Fair -Dells -Close to SFGAm But yeah, I fell like moving out of here.... UPDATE: Southeast Wisconsin has a dense fog warning!!![/i]
steel Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Come on now, your state fair is simply not as bad as the IA State Fair (probably the most overblown idea on earth) and Mt. Olympus and Timber Falls certainly outdo Adventureland as far as coasters go. But I am fully aware that everyone has a legal right to hate the place in which they live, and that most make use of said right (unless they live in Iowa, where almost no one knows that the world continues beyond our border).
Golfie Posted March 25, 2007 Author Posted March 25, 2007 New record high today... 78* in the middle of March wtf?
benzo41190 Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 ^yeah, I could actually wear shorts and a t-shirt all day today...without getting wet But just watch, we are going to get snow in a few weeks The only thing I don't like is the humidity. I walked outside this morning and was like "hmmm, this is pretty warm". Then I went running and was like "wow, i am really sweaty right now"...and then I jumped in a pond by our house and was like "wow, this water is really cold". -You can never have anything perfect in Wisconsin
