martinb
Well I've been away all week, at DLP, but now, unfortunetly, we're back. But we had a fab 7 days. As always Space Mountain was a highlight, and still my No.1 after about 8 years, but the biggest highlight was Buzz Lightyears Lazer Blast, now I really wasn't expecting much of this ride, I was expecting it to be quite crap, but I was wrong, its fab, just pure fun, everything about was just great, its now one of my favourite rides at the park. Anyway, I'll just get on with the pictures, I'm not posting all the pictures at once as theres too many, anyways: Please note the photo's are in a complete random order, and I really can't be arsed to organize them First stop on journey to London, South Mimms serivces, KFC here we come! We arrive at our hotel in Slough, to find it covered in scaffolding.. But never mind, it was a nice hotel, very posh. Me and Anne just hangin' I got bored and decided to climb out the window. See, lots of scaffolding. Chrales enjoying her breakfast at Heathrow very early in the morning. Luvely Jubbley! Our plane to take us to gay Pari London from the skies Nice clear skies Bonjour Francais ..... Shrek?? Au Busse arrive on par du Disneyland I see you.. Getting closer Even closer Au arrive, but this isn't our hotel Theres our hotel So nice and cozy I was really hoping to get on Panoramagique, but it never opened Hotel New York, one of the other hotels I've stayed in. Newport Bay club Hotel, never stayed there. Disney Village Nice and sunny for our first day C'mon, its like tradition to have this picture Oh yeah baby, No.1 all the way Lots and loys of steam coming from Space Mountain Brilliant ride! Love it! Went for lunch at Pizza Planet and I got a Pizza Burger, mmmm, lush. Told you the photo's were random ToT looming over the studios Nice little Monsters Inc area at the Studios Crush Me waiting form them to finish drawing at the Animation Academy I then spotted this gate open, I thought about it, but instead just took a photo form above the gate Hmm?? Our lovely hotel Another shot of our hotel View from our room Space Mountain looking spectacular at night as always I love everything about SM, even the station That night we went to Annette's for tea You are greated by a giant women They serve you on rollerskates, thats cool. Mmm, chilli During our meal, they started dancing on tables to some rock 'n' roll music, then started pulling people up for a dance, no chance matey!! You stuff your face shrek My dessert, with an odd shaped spoon.. After tea, Charlie demands that we go shopping at the extremely over priced shops, prices were bad enough last year, but now they're just ridiculous She finds herself a hat to keep her head warm Hmm....... just wrong Our very cozy room, with the nicest beds ever!!! And I think that will do for the moment, hope you liked so far, more to follow later. --Martyn
coastrfreak2000
Nice TR, DLP looks really nice! But I only have one problem with what I see... There are too many lamposts lining the street and it looks so...overdone. It's gonna look so much nicer when those trees grow bigger!
mmousefan
Oh lots of lamp post yes, but they are so pretty when lit up. Ive seen pics . Nice PTR

Nrthwnd
Thanks for the TR. Looks like you had a great time there. ***Pizza Planet PIZZA BURGERS!*** Always wanted to get one of those, but they were closed 'off-season' last times we were there. Not for this coming late April though, I hope. Yes! And you stayed at the Sequoia, too! That is the hotel onsite I would really want to stay at. Thanks for sharing the trip. HAJiME
Probably a stupid question - was this like a package or did you book it all yourself? Is the bus from le airport free, was it part of your package or... what? I really want to plan myself a trip next year, but i'm so useless with this stuff. I've found out i have enough Tesco vouchers to get the Eurostar for free! But it won't take my all the way to Disney. Part of the Tesco terms and conditions. Blah, anyway, nice tp. Makes me wanna go even more.
slider655
Could you not use your Tesco vouchers to get into france, then pay the excess to get to Marne-la-Valee (the stop at Disneyland gates). Or you could fly, go by tunnel with or without car, or go by ferry, with or without car - so many options! I've been by Eurostar and driven by taking car on ferry too. I've gotta say Eurostar is so much easier though!
martinb
There are too many lamposts lining the street and it looks so...overdone. It's gonna look so much nicer when those trees grow bigger! Them lamp posts are a part of the christmas decorations, they just haven't been taken down yet. Yes I got the whole thing as a package, flight, transfers, hotel and parks. It might well be cheaper to book a 'classic package' through Disney, which doesn't include transport, then book your transport seperatly, Eurostar tickets are only £65 each return. Oh and also, the EuroStar stops at Disney before central paris, so it sounds odd that you can't stop at Disney... More photo's up later today. --Martyn
HAJiME
Eurostar tickets are only £65 each return. Like i said on CF, i don't know WHERE you found this. But i just done a search for a return Eurostar and the cheapest i see is £85... Oh and also, the EuroStar stops at Disney before central paris, so it sounds odd that you can't stop at Disney... Hm, very odd. I'll have to contact tesco...
martinb
Here you go: http://www.eurostar.com/dynamic/_SvBoTravelFaresSelectTerm?_TMS=1169983547258&_DLG=SvBoTravelFaresSelectTerm&_LANG=UK&_AGENCY=ESTAR Thats £65 for 2 people to go to DLP, the return journey cost £85 for 2 people though. This is very strange, yesterday I checked the prices for a trip in June, it came up £65 there and £65 back, but for some strange reason, I can choose June anymore, the furthest I can go is May.. HAJiME
S'all very confusing. Like on the Port Aventura site, aparently there are no vanancies all year in any of the hotels... wtf? That can't be right surely.
martinb
^That is exactly what happend to me yesterday, when I tried to book a trip there. I just kept saying to my self "WTF??? they are not fully booked all year, impossible" I think we should just stay in England...

Divv3k
Great TR Martyn! I'm off to DLRP for the first time on Thursday so this is good for building the anticipation! What were the crowds and queues like? What was the fast pass situation, could you get Fast Passes for multiple rides at the same time as some around here have speculated? Cheers.
martinb
Trust, you don't need to worry about the queue's, mid week, its empty, yet they still have Fast Pass open on most rides. But, no matter how quiet it is, Big Thunder Mountain will always have a huge queue. Only 1 FP at a time I'm afraid, but like I said, you own't need any apart from on BTM. Well heres some more piccies: I'm starting this update with lots of photo's of Big Thunder Mountain, which shows of all of the fantastic theming, and why I believe its oneo f the best themed ocasters in the world These are all shots of the queue line: Now for some on-ride shots: Going down, under the lake Phantom Manor, form BTM's 2nd lift hill Going back down under the lake for the best part of the ride The mountain in all its glory The castle in all its glory Space Mountain looking fabulastic as usual See, lots and lots of steam The launch tunnel even gets filled with steam Oo, light speed!! Buzz has the same loading system as the Phantom Manor, just one long continous train. We take a walk through Nauticas (or what ever its called) Its a strange but very well themed walk through thingy which is under the lake by Space Mountain I just can't enough photo's of SM Now we over in Fantasy Land Stupid maze Fantasy Land overview Mmm, Caseys, this place do lush Hotdogs "It's a Small Wolrd" I don't know why, and I'm quite ashamed to admit this, but I like it! Some piccies from inside Small World Yeah, I get way too 'click happy' with my camara.... Anyway, that will do for now. Hope you enojoyed so far. --Martyn
