robbalvey Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 The Gravity Group has just added some new photos of the ride testing! http://www.thegravitygroup.com/hades/index06.htm Looks amazing! --Robb
Token Yankee Guy Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 ^ Do the two big bags of sand in front supposed to simulate two ACErs riding it?
benzo41190 Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 The finale (the last picture) looks similar to Phantoms Revenge double dip at the end. It might just be me. Also when the train goes threw the 90 degree turn, the train doesnt look like its at 90 degrees. Again might just be me.
CoasterFanatic Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 ^ It is at least 90 degrees. I think the shot is taken at a bad angle.
DRWP2005 Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 I think that, that is probably the best photo we will see of the train going through the 90 degree part, mostly because I can't imagine standing that close to the track, in order to get those shots, that tunnel doesn't look that big. And it is indeed 90 degrees just look at the picture in that other gallery with the guy standing next to it! I can't wait for on-ride video of this ride to come out.
pgathriller Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 Hades looks impressive! Looks like an overall good coaster. Do other wooden coasters do the 90 degree turn?
coaster1 Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 Only one I know of with one, Thunderhead has one 70 degree turn which is pretty cool.
M_Force_4_ever Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 ^^nope this is the first woodie to ever do a 90 degree bank. cool huh?
kenshinmac Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 So question... Is this just a fairly simple out and back with a long underground tunnel? I just haven't seen much on the layout.
Sir Clinksalot Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 Wonder if it is at all possible to have 2 trains going opposite directions in the tunnel at the same time. That would make for some sick dueling action. If you look at the Mt. Olympus site you can see the layout on the interactive map. It looks way cool.
Jordan Shankman Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 WTF is the layout of this thing? I can't figure it out! Yeah, i'm still trying to figure it out.
Twister II Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 The layout is on the offical website for Mt. Olympus. The whole ride looks like nothing but SPEED!!! http://rcdb.com/ig2667.htm?picture=53 wow
Wes Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 ^ Oh god. That site is hideous. I want to slap the Flash designer's hands until he can no longer click his mouse. Anyway, the layout ... if that rendering is accurate, is cool, but it seems a little abbreviated for being such a huge ride.
BiCoastal Kid Posted May 6, 2005 Posted May 6, 2005 I'm probably the only person who thinks that the ride is slightly lack-luster...
PhishyBrewer Posted May 6, 2005 Posted May 6, 2005 Nice curves! Oh... and the coaster looks pretty wicked too!
