My favorite coaster is Superman Attracion de Acero and I love both the front and the backseat. The frontseat has the best views, but the backseat has some amazing airtime down the first drop. I prefer to sit on the far left side because of the last ground-hugging helix http://www.rcdb.com/ig1366.htm?picture=30

I FOUND ANOTHER TOPIC THAT NEEDS TO BE BROUGHT BACK AND DISCUSSED ONCE AGAIN!!!

Well, it would be four years this coming May if someone like yours truly wasn't scrolling through the vast seas of topics old and past didn't come across something like this topic that was thought worthy of saving.

"Huh?"

Never mind. I'll just add my input and keep this topic afresh and alive.

"Then why didn't you say so?"

(sigh) I don't usually have a preferance on where I sit on a coaster train, so if it's a coaster that I've ridden many times, then I try to sit at least once in a different row. Awaiting lines in lanes also would be a deciding factor on which row I want to ride in. Finally, on the Boomerang Coaster, I would always ride in the back seat (back seat's more fun).

Hmm, I'm pretty strange with seats. If it is a two-seater I will always sit on the right hand side. Whereas if its a four-seater I will sit anywhere. As for where to sit I usually hit a middle row first, just to sus out the coaster. Then if I enjoy it; I brave the back seat. I'm yet to ride a "good" coaster in the front seat!

Enough babble.

My favorite seat is the one where the ride op says "single rider!" and I run to the front of the line!

Yeah that seat...

Front and back cars for me. I also like the third row from the front on the six-seater cars. IMO, a great coaster will allow you to enjoy a ride in the front and back. If the back is too rough, the coaster falls in my rankings. That's the only reason Boulder Dash isn't in my top 5 wood. When I last rode it in 2006, it was just too rough in the back.

Back for several reasons:

1. I prefer acceleration to decceleration... I mean, for example, in the loop, in the front row, I always get pushed forward into the restraints becouse of the decceleration caused by the back of the train...

2. Usually more airtime...

Well, at least on the coasters i've been on...

3. the wait is usually minimal.

I love sitting in the very right front seat on Scream! at Magic Mountain. Front because it's the only place to get the true floorless experience, and all the way to the right because right off of the mcbr, there's this really low turn in which you're just a couple feet off the ground.

I like the front the most because it's usually smoother and you can really see the whole ride. For the most part you get more speed, and while you don't get as much air-time as the back, you definately get floater.

On most wooden coasters I like to ride in the front row because it's a little smoother and you get some nice airtime at the peaks of the hills. The exception is El Toro. I must ride that thing in the back for the ridiculous first drop.

Now when I ride steel coasters i prefer the back seat. I love first drops in the back on a smooth steel coaster. If it is a launch coaster I want to ride in the front. I love the wind in your face and seeing the acceleration.
