Sounds interesting. Again, some parks listed on there that were supposed to be closed by next year.

Not that Press Releases mean much these days.

Makes me want to get a SP from a park other than SFMM though.

I don't ever remember SF announcing they would be closing any parks on that list. I read they had parks they were interested in selling, but I don't recall taking away from that anything like "if the park isn't sold by a specified date, the park would be closed."

Maybe I read the press release wrong.

^ I was kind of being sarcastic. Because when they came out that they were "Exploring Strategic Options" there were rumors flying around that SFEG, SFMM, etc were going to be closing as soon as next month.

Which is why I put the little guy next to that sentance.

Sounds pretty cool! All I would do though is keep riding Tatsu and X over and over and over! I should be getting a season pass next year with my dad, but we are kind of tight on money right now and are trying to plan a 2008 trip.

^^OMG! YES!

That was the first thing I thought when I read the title of the thread, then you read the prize...wow. I wonder if Disney could do something about this!

Come on Disney, you have more lawyers then Six Flags has staff!

Is it just me or is it kinda a rip off of the year of a million dreams contest that WDW and DL are having.. right down to the "Dream Night" title..

hmmm...

I was thinking the same thing....

Is this kind of promotion really needed? Do they really think that they will be getting enough of an increase in season pass sales to compensate something like this?

Same old Six Flags.

Is it copying off Disney? Probably. But is the event as a whole a cooler idea? Probably.

I don't know... it seems like a fun idea. Marketing points for SF season passes, and good PR. What could be better?

(Umm... probably improving the chain as a whole like Shapiro promised would happen... and we know how that promise turned out. )

How the hell is Six Flags giving away 15 prizes for buying Season Passes a cooler idea than Disney giving away a million different prizes ranging from little things to stuff much better than a Six Flags party?!?!?

From reports I've heard the Disney Dream Squad is already out practicing and people have gotten Golden Fastpasses this week!

No, because the way that they check things there would still be a few Disney's in there (see Information on El Toro on this page)

I'm sure the winners and their parties will be greeted with a sign at the front with a long list of rides not operating that day.

It seems everyone I spoke to in the GP (including tour operators) seems convinced that SFMM is closing this year, the marketing is working.

That's what I was thinking! It will be interesting to see what all is open and how many ops there are.

First you were complaining about the 5 dollars now this!? It says that 2007 season pass holders will be elibile. I would think that you will be.

Yeah, but it also says the promo STARTS tonight at midnight. Why wouldn't it say it started when passes went on sale?

Figure that one out, Merlin!
