coasterkyle
Sorry if this has been answered before, but how do you get 3d's made in SketchUp into No Limits ?
coasterlover420
If it's a regular .3ds file it should transfer right in. Just make sure your units aren't out of whack because sometimes objects transfer in really tiny or really huge. http://sketchup.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=114325
mrfac51
can anyone tell me the best software to make videos of my coaster tracks any advice would be much appreciated
AJClarke0912
NoLimits itself has a recorder! Â Press Zero on the numpad, record (it's laggy when it records, but it comes out fine), then press again to stop. Then go find it in your Screenshots folder. DougMJr
^I did that and the video file comes out ridiculously large (Like 2 Gbs!) How would you suggest shrinking it down to size. I'm on a Mac and I can't import it into iMovie. Â v Thanks AJ! Edited November 8, 2011 by DougMJr
A.J.
Use Handbrake to encode the video. Â http://handbrake.fr/ Â Setting the preset to "normal" and encoding the video should give you a format you can import into iMovie.
ethanehunt
Hi, to answer your question: you need to export the model to a folder on your computer (it is better if there is nothing in it) and while you are choosing a place to put it click the options button and uncheck everything in materials. Open up Anim8or and click object>import and select your model. Click the four ball button and boxes will appear with spheres in them. Double click a box and settings for the texture will appear. Click the = sign and close the box. Do this for all of them. Once you are done go to object>export and export your model and overwrite the older one. Go into Nolimits objects folder and make a new folder inside it and name it what you want. drag your model and it's textures (image files) into that folder. Place the model in Nolimits and run the sim. The black faces should be gone but if not go back into Anim8or and make sure all the = signs are clicked. and if the model is red go back the the sketchup export options and experiment with them. Hope this helps:-)

Gigalyte
Question anyone know why when I use the support flanger in the construction kit or the stand alone flanger program it changes the speed of my coaster, my coaster is hauling A$$ through the course then when I flang it, in either program it vallies what is going on? Â Also I could have a small puddle of water on the map but when I go into the construction kit and then back into the NL program the entire map is covered in water what is going on? mightbeawannabe
Firstly, CK is older than the most up to date basic NL set, which is 1.6 now. To fix the speed, simply turn improved friction back on in the editor, and then after you've saved, close it, go to the terraformer, raise the land some small amout, et voilà !
A.J.
Nailed it. Â The Construction Kit was created before NoLimits 1.6 came out, I believe, so that was before improved friction.

mightbeawannabe
a: There wouldn't. BUT... b: You're lucky that it's integrated right into the editor, versions 1.6 and up. Ctrl+G or Edit-Smooth
coastercrazy 9
I am making an Intamin launch coaster and I want the ride to come to a complete stop for 20 seconds before launching. When I set the brake segment to 20 seconds on a complete stop and open the coaster in the simulator, the brakes just tap the train for a millisecond, and it launches. It does not stop! Please help! A.J.
It will do that if you're running your coaster in shuttle mode. When you complete the track and put it into continuous circuit, it will stop for however long you want it to so long as the entire train can fit on the brake section.
AJClarke0912
Also make sure your brake is strong enough/long enough to fully stop your train. But I'm sure it's what A.J. said...good catch.
coastercrazy 9
Thanks for the help, I had it in shuttle so I could test while building. Now it is continuous and working!
GigaG
How do you place scenery objects besides that one tree? Yes, I know that you only have trees to start with, but how do you choose trees?
