ebl
^ Holding a train in the station to synch it with the other one. Or slowing down the lift to allow one to catch up with the other (I've seen that done). Â Eric
wrs28330
^^And what do you base that on? I base that on the fact that both sides don't always take the same amount of time to load. cloudstrife602
just went last friday. Arrived around 2PM, decently crowded, not too long of waits though. although there was a HUGE line for ticket willcall and only one poor lady trying to handle it all... they need to train security on wilcall or something... 3 metal detector stations were open, no lines for them, and about 5 or 6 guards extra just standing around chatting with a supervisor... Â tatsu was great =] goliath was fantastic (dispatching rapidly as usual) and fright fest just added to the fun. the bog maze had the most creative scares while jokesters nearly made me piss myself.... i hate clowns..... wrs28330
I thought it would be crowded for Fright Fest on Halloween! Quite the opposite. It is normally one of the least crowded days.
packfanlv
Hey guys, Â Does the Extreme Play Pass include free parking at all of the SF parks or just SFMM? I know the 2009 pass was just announced, but I am going to assume it is the same as far as free parking goes as the 2008 pass. Also, what does everyone think of the Flash Passes not being included now that they have upgraded to the electronic system. Their site just says you get a discount now. Â I searched the TPR forums and tried to call SFMM a few times (Busy signal) but can't seem to find an answer to my question. I did see where someone asked this question earlier in the thread but no one seemed to respond. Thanks for any help.
Bolliger&Mabillard
The parking privilige is valid at any Six Flags park for the 2009 season.
robbalvey
Hey guys, Â I know it's difficult having two threads for SFMM but please try to keep Terminator discussion in that thread and use this thread for any other general SFMM talk. Â BTW, let me now focus your attention to new Terminator photos here: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=664066#664066 Â --Robb

Bolliger&Mabillard
Does anyone know what the wind speed cut-off for X is? I know what it was with the old trains, but I went to the park Sunday to see it closed for wind...but Riddler's, Scream, and Tatsu were running, which get halted at much lower wind...do the new trains play a factor in this? SharkTums
^^They must, I've seen X2 down A LOT so far this 'Fall Season' due to wind/cold. Kind of makes me wonder how much it will run during the off season! Â As for the passes, Robb already picked up his new 09 Xtreme Pass and it says right on the back that parking is good at every park. Â I was also a bit disappointed that there is no inkling of what we will get as a 'discount' for the new Qbots. I mean, I really think we should get a normal Qbot for free, and then the option to upgrade for a price to Gold. Or else, what is the point of the Xtreme Pass? I'm holding off in getting my pass till we see what the deal is. If it's not that great, I'll just get a normal pass with parking. Â Anyone at the park reading this or care anymore? Can you shed some light on this please?
Bolliger&Mabillard
It was running when we got there at around 2pm, and decided to make it the last ride of the night, but when we got to the gate at the end of the bridge at around 7pm, we were told it was down for wind and it'd been closed for about an hour. I was just curious because I know with the old trains the cut-off was 35mph winds. I guess they're just a little more protective over the new investment. ebl
^^ I need to look at getting my 2009 Xtreme Pass (funny how they still call it that while trying to get away from the "Xtreme Park" thing). Are the passes still $125? If so, that's still quite a bargain considering what you're getting. Â Eric

PeoplemoverMatt
Having the free parking applicable to all Six Flags parks is an additional bonus. A possible offset of the loss of the free Flash Pass as it turns into QBot?
Jew
but I went to the park Sunday to see it closed for wind...but Riddler's, Scream, and Tatsu were running, which get halted at much lower wind...do the new trains play a factor in this? Â When did Riddlers start closing for wind? Perhaps a delayed opening in the morning so it doesn't valley after the block brake with an empty train, but that never once happened while I was on the crew...
Mr.Six
Scream also never closed for wind the entire time I was there. The only exception is when we were a bit worried for starting block check in the morning and sending the trains empty the first few times. But once they've done a few cycles there's no worry. Â Though we were worried, I don't think we ever actually halted opening. It was more or less mechanics hanging around the ride ready for a train not making it around. Â Revolution though is another story. We went down a bit do to gusty wind. Not so much because of worrying about train stalling or vallying. Which is nearly impossible as the course is nothing but anti-rollback after anti-rollback. But because gusty winds can cause branches to snap or trees to sway their branches out enough to a point in that they hit guests. Â Going down was always a last resort though. More often then not we would just perform safety rides every 15-30 minutes to ensure no new hazards along the track area.
Bolliger&Mabillard
I'm sure it's because the newer trains are substantially lighter than the old trains, but as it's been mentioned once you cycle the empty trains for set-up testing it's usually good for the rest of the day. So I found it as odd that it closed at around 5 pm for wind.
cooksta77
Well is there anything SFMM can do to overcome the wind and keep the rides operating?

Bolliger&Mabillard
Inclement weather is one of those things you can't mad at. I mean if a ride's closed due to staffing or poor maintainece, so be it. I'd invite all walks of life to rant about it, but wind, the park has no control over that. I know it's not the park that sets those rules. Besides, I'd rathe have the park close a ride as a safety precaution than cycle it and spend 2-3 days taking the whole thing apart because it vallies in the 2nd raven turn.
