The Six Flags Magic Mountain (SFMM) Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

^ What was funny is that the people I was with hadn't ridden in the back row, so we went there. I told them that the pretzel loop was going to kick their butt, but they had to find out for themselves!

As Tatsu goes, front seat is where I ride.

As I get more and more geeked out for The Dark Knight, I wish someone at Warner Bros. would get on the phone with SFMM and have a discussion about pulling Gotham City and B:TR out of the Tim Burton/Joel Schumacher theming. It wouldn't take much, a few bucks from Warner Bros. to replace some facades and logos would be a cool way to market the new (and much improved) Batman franchise to a relatively captive audience.

Theming one of the flats to Arkham Asylum is one idea. Let's get a replica of the Tumbler out where the Batmobile used to be. Have the "League of Shadows" give some kung-fu demonstrations.

But it won't happen, because its a good idea. They're not even updating the stunt show this year. Lame.

I've heard that they are next year, changing the stunt show that is.

Well B:TR refelcts the Tim Burton era and I think it should stay as a reflection of that first film.

I expect at some point we will get a second Batman themed ride that will reflect the new franchise. Either a Dark Knight ride or something exclusive to SFMM.

Batman is a classic as is. Theming a COMPLETELY NEW area to Gotham is a great idea however. Now another Batman & Robin dueling coaster is a great idea, especially since Robin seems to be left out of the Six Flags "ride circuit" more than he should. (Two Mr. Freeze rides, The Riddler's Revenge, Joker's Jinx, Two Face: The Flip Side and Catwoman's Whip just to name a few), but no Robin. I'm not saying to invest in 350 ft. intamin giga coaster and call it "The Boy Wonder", but another attempt at Chiller would be great (just be sure the ride works this time around)

I would love to see the Chiller make a comeback, if they can make it work.

I'm in the cyber cafe right now, I really love it. We're getting ready to leave soon. Pretty good day I guess. No wait times on much of anything, and speedy dispatches on everything except for Deja Vu this morning. Although I haven't seen X2 test all day. I was hoping to see it again, as I haven't had a chance to see it run since WCB. Checked out the Sky Tower museum again, I really like it, I hope they continue to add more. Once again, I'm extremely impressed with the new management of six flags, even my friends who were with me noticed the difference in the cleanliness of the park and the friendliness of the staff. It seems that most of the GP has started to really realize the small differences and improvements in the park. I noticed all around better behavior from the other guests as well. I'm really pleased with the park.

It's common sense not to have a bathroom in a queue...it would be considered line cutting when you came back out. By standing in line, you're committing to standing there just as long as any other person waiting to ride.

Many people don't consider saving a spot in line "cutting" or line jumping. I saw this happen in line for Sierra Sidewinder at Knott's. Ugh.

I've always been of the mind that if I see someone leave the line - especially if it's a little kid to go to the bathroom, then come back in I don't have a problem with it. Whether or not that's technically line cutting is irrelevant. Kids don't always have as much.. control of these things as those older, who know before they get in line if they're gonna need to go to the bathroom.
