timetrial3141592 Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 Not sure if this belongs in this thread... Amethyst A model coaster made entirely of paper and tape. Features a "pretzel knot", several helices, and a few ejector hills. Took me a week. Pix coming soon!
BiCoastal Kid Posted June 30, 2006 Posted June 30, 2006 Actually, it should be in the regular rollercoaster forum in my opinion. It DOES have to do with coasters.
Vekoma Fan Boy Posted June 30, 2006 Posted June 30, 2006 More need for a "Model Roller Coasters Forum".
coasterlover420 Posted June 30, 2006 Posted June 30, 2006 Actually, it should be in the regular rollercoaster forum in my opinion. It DOES have to do with coasters. Well, then the main forum will be swarming with Knex models and crap like that.
ECZenith Posted June 30, 2006 Posted June 30, 2006 I would definately have a lot to contribute in a model coasters section (once I start building these again)
spaminacan11 Posted June 30, 2006 Posted June 30, 2006 WOW! What do you make those out of, they are abesolutely beautiful.
dragoncoaster1292 Posted June 30, 2006 Posted June 30, 2006 HOLY F***** S***! That is amazing!! My God!
Vekoma Fan Boy Posted June 30, 2006 Posted June 30, 2006 WOW that would make one kick A$$ theme park The one in the bottom picture? That is SFNE.
ECZenith Posted June 30, 2006 Posted June 30, 2006 The coasters are made out of sturdy wire. Sections are cut and painted and glued in place on top of a premade foam terrain block. I'm planning on finishing up the 7 projects I have in production right now and then I'm going to make some Disney rides.
coasterdude5 Posted July 1, 2006 Posted July 1, 2006 Expedition Everest would be awesome! Amazing work!
Worm Posted July 1, 2006 Posted July 1, 2006 I remember seeing this about 3 months ago on Thrillnetwork. you had alot more pics there!
ECZenith Posted July 1, 2006 Posted July 1, 2006 I never posted anything to thrillnetwork... but I'd take plagerism as a compliment I suppose.
zaneymon Posted July 2, 2006 Posted July 2, 2006 WOW that would make one kick A$$ theme park The one in the bottom picture? That is SFNE. Well im from NZ i dont know that ok lol
Golfie Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 Could you show us a photo that would give us an idea of how big the models are? Also, could you show a close-up picture of some roller coaster track? That looks like a very cool hobby.
ECZenith Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 I'll get some new photos once I get a hold of my girlfriend's camera, all the models have been spruced up/or are nearly done so I can start other projects. I have an older photo that shows the size though... (PS SheiKra was a MESS in this photo, I almost trashed it before I sat down and rebuilt most o fit, it look sharp now!) My BIG project... it's been in the works for years and will never be finished as long as the park keeps adding new rides. When I first started Tatsu... That's a quarter in the pic to compare it to. They're pretty small.
ECZenith Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 I'll show you a better view of the trains next week when I get some new photos taken. Tatsu has it's train attached and SheiKra's is next. Tatsu's is positioned on the first drop, SheiKra's train will be positioned on the lift hill, but the model itself is far from finished and has some things that need to be fixed up. You can see Kraken's train in this photo (barely!) but it's coming up into the midcourse brakes. New photos will show better detail.
