  6. Spotted a dinosaur in my driveway today.
  7. llama exporter/alpaca importer.
  8. Although I don't know Mr. Johnson personally, I wanted to be the first to congratulate him for making it to the ripe old age of 98. I remember listening to his stories about the original luna park when TPR was only available through telegraph and party line. Warm congratulations to the only current member to ride the original shoot the chutes.
  9. This involves two issues .... Efficiency and sociology .... Clearly the most efficient way for a ride to operate is with all the seats filled. The social aspect involves, communicating to the people around you of your planned actions and reasons for doing it. So now we look at the lowest common denominator issue. You need to express verbally in a succinct matter your reasons for your actions. A good choice choice of words might be " hey buddy, I'm jumping in those empty seats" or "if you aren't going to sit there, I am" Etiquette, unfortunately, goes out the window in situations with strangers in mass. Such is human nature. So yeah, you are doing the right thing trying to fill those seats, but understand the folks around you might not feel that way. Etiquette is social protocol and only works if those around you are aware of the protocol. ...this after school special is sponsored by rich, creamy ovaltine..... .....the more you know....
  10. I feel like I'm shilling for Blu-Ray (probably because I am), but PAL watch the I305 on-ride video. The quality, even on you tube, is so great that it looks like you are watching a a freeze frame in the beginning until you see the car catch start moving.
  11. The technology exists currently to sell uncompressed 1080p movies over the internet, but the files size would be cost prohibitive to host and time prohibitive for most to download. Also ,if your computer monitor is at least 1920x1080 (the minimum resolution for true hd) you probably own a blu-ray player as well. This should be the holy grail to all you Coaster in the Raw fans.
  12. So Rollercoasters in the Raw is definitely not my thing. I enjoy the Coaster Expedition DVD's exponentially more. That being said, watching a TPR produced On-Ride video in true 1080p is the next level for all you coaster porn lovers. The Rollercoaster in the Raw fans (and I've read there are many of you out there) are looking to vicariously ride the coaster even if they aren't able. Blu-Ray will bring you one step closer.. ... With all respect to the six million dollar man; We have the technology, we can watch it better. Chris "Writing this post in HD" Con
  13. I just read this article in the New York Times that is frightenly similiar to the above article. A New York man is suing The Museum of Natural History because their sand exibit was "too boring" and caused him emotional distress. Chris Con, 29, brought his 28-year old wife to MONH's annual Sand has Cleavage Day back in 1998. According to Con, he and his wife were approaching the exit of the the museum's sand expose when an employee with a bag-- minus the sand -- leaped out and pretended to help them secure a levee. Con and wife fled toward the exit with the informative curator giving chase. The lethargic duo then, allegedly, fell asleep on a soft spot on the floor and went down for the count. After they woke up, the lawsuit says, the employee continued his informative speil , crouching over them and thrusting his sand bag in an educational manner. According to Cons' lawsuit, the ordeal inflicted "extreme fear, distress and mental anguish" -- the kind of mental anguish that only $15,000 in cash will alleviate. The Museum of Natural History has not yet responded to Peters' lawsuit. ..... wasting your time since 1998.....
  14. I just both spoke with Mr. Iger and he confirmed both Mickeys Fun Wheel and California Screamin' will both be open during World of Color, but only standing will be allowed, so as not to detract from other guests' experiences.
  15. Robb, You must be new to this board, because sitting is expressly banned during any fireworks or future fountain show at Disneyland. I suggest you reread chapter 6 line 3 of the Guest Right of Entry Document. Chris Con
  16. After seeing how tasteful and elegant those decals are on the 0-train of that car, I've decided to outfit all of our vehicles with them. It's astonishing to think that cars aren't pre-outfitted with these stickers before leaving the factory. How else can I show my support to Chex Mix and Sham Wow? A thought.. We get exact measurements of one of the stickers and create a TPR decal and clandestinely attach it to the coaster?
  17. Heres a couple quick notes from Sunday. Lines were incredibly light all day and it was much warmer than Saturday. The light rain for an hour midday really thinned out the park. We were able to marathon on El Toro at least 10 rides in the afternoon. Thats not something you hear about often. I met Larrygator, who is really nice guy and I hope I didn't scare by yelling his name as he walked by. It was good to meet you Larry and I pmed you the photos we talked about. Also met Mark Kane (president of Great Adventure) who was just hanging out by the fountain and observing the park. The operators I spoke with commented that Mr. Kane is out and about in the park everyday. Thats great to see a president being proactive and not just sitting behind a desk. He is doing an excellent job with the park. He was very cordial and seemed enthusiastic about the season and ended our conversation with, "Just wait to see what we have in store for the Fiftieth Anniversary". The Nitro Team, yesterday was the best I've ever seen at any park. They were moving trains incredibly quickly and engaging the crowd. Lots of jokes, fun, and efficient operations. Respect and Thanks to that team. The El Toro team was also moving trains very quickly and I spoke with some nice ride ops there that allowed us to change seats to keep riding the marathon. The park looked great, was incredibly clean, and security was everywhere. I didn't see any sketchy stuff that some people have written about.. Much respect to the entire team there. I had a great day and look forward to many more in 2010. In my opinion the park and staff has never been better.
  18. If you want to experience all the rollercoasters multiple times flash pass is a good choice. If you are going during the week (Monday through Thursday) you might be able to get away without buying it. The systems works by renting a device that looks like a alphanumeric pager. You walk up to the sign next to the rollercoaster and wave the beeper in front of it. The beeper than goes off when it is your time to ride and you skip the regular ride. If this is going to be on your one and only chance to visit great adventure then I would purchase the GOLD flash pass. This will cut your wait times down by 75 percent. It is definitely possible to ride all the major rollercoasters in one day without flash pass but if you go on a busy day than expect 1-2 hour waits for the most popular rides.
  19. Hey The Bebes, I just wanted to send a thank you for the BOC. Kristin loves the tweety pen and I can't get enough TPR mints. Thanks again!
  20. Haven't read the whole post but I'm hoping I'm not the only one to vote Golden Horse Amusement Company PS. "Insert witty comment about this thread being years old here"
  21. Seriously Robb & Elissa, 58 Parks... Thats just too many.... How can someone expect to remember all these benefits? I'm definitely not joining unless you reduce the amount of parks to a number my short term memory is capable of remembering/understanding. Chris "Is my card in the mail yet, please?" Con
  22. -Joey referring to lap bar system El Toro comes to mind for famously stapling it's larger riders in. Even the test seat has lights to show if you have pulled the lap bar down far enough. Considering all that ejector air I guess it's not a bad thing, but I've had two friends who aren't huge, who where unable to ride. Interesting topic. I was aware that onboard audio used a charging system but I never gave it much thought. Does anyone have a photo of the actual charger at a station? I wonder if the charging is wireless induction or something along the lines of bumper cars where there is actual contact?
  23. April at great adventure is very quiet and any day would be a fine choice. That being said Friday and Saturday will be the busiest days as weekend days always are. On Easter Sunday, the park is closed for a private event. This is an annual event for the Jewish community. Although the park is techically closed, I've heard you are able to buy tickets through different Jewish organizations online. Although, I don't know how beneficial that would be as I've heard the park can get somewhat busy for this event. Monday April 5 would be my top choice.
  24. As a long time cruiser on princess and ncl, I've become really dissilussioned with the NCL product. The nickel and diming on those ships has become rampart as has the cost cutting. If anyone wants to read some of my previous reviews of NCL search for member "Chris Connolly" on cruise critic. I really like what RCI has done in recent years with the cruise industry. Their largest ships essentially offer the exact benefits of freestyle. You can sit with who you would like to. There are upcharge restaurants. There are multiple activities going on at all times. My next cruise will be Oasis of the Seas as I like see innovation, not bait and switch.
  25. We are thinking of naming it Twitter Blaster Revenge or Tweet Destroyer. Which one do you think your age group would prefer? We are also considering a technology theme. Essentially blasting through the tubes and canyons of the internet like the matrix. We think will be a big hit with our target demographics. Do you have any input?
