^^ Bill, I'm really sorry to hear about that. It's just sooo tough when our pets become ill. I'll be praying for the best for you all.

Top Gear studies prove.......the automobile is still the best, and fastest mode of transportation. Twelve hours is nothing. Man up.

Advice Please - Im Coming To America
BeemerBoy replied to 560Poundcyclist's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
America can't possibly be your spiritual home. You're no longer overweight. This time of the year will be fairly crowded and definitely VERY hot and humid. We'd love to give you as much helpful advice as we can, but you'll have to provide a few more details for us. Stuff like where you'll be staying, which parks are on your "to do list," food preferences, interests outside of Disney (I know you already mentioned a possible Universal visit), transportation to/from Orlando airport, etc. etc. The more information we have to work with, the better advice we can give ya! Oh, and "Coming to America" reference FTW. -
Amazing water slides
BeemerBoy replied to FLIPDUDE's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That's Palm Beach....not South Beach. And their enlcosed body slide named Pirate's Plunge (Plunder side) is the most brutal slide I've ever experienced. Although, that might change soon, since the slide of death at Margaritaville Montego Bay, Jamaica is calling my name in October. Who else is with me that day? -
This list starts with "Summertime," by DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, and ends with "Centerfield," by John Fogerty.

^ Yes, please do if you get the chance! I love a good concours event, and there's an off chance I'll be detailing an old Austin-Healey for one next year.....which would be pretty demanding, but fun.

Imagine your worst nightmare. It's worse than that. Seriously though... Wouldn't it be even more awkward meeting up with a bunch of people you have nothing in common with and spending an entire day at a theme park with them?

^ Very cool. Which Concours event was it? Pictures? I'm considering a trip out to the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance next year. Eventually attending the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este is the ultimate goal though [drool]. And here's some great shots of that event from this year [more drool].

Theme Park Review in JAPAN! 2011
BeemerBoy replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This picture is awesome for several reasons: A) Elissa and KT. B) Fast Passes. C) I'm almost certain Robb purposely framed those Japanese schoolgirls in the shot. -
The amazing thing about that collection is that the owner is a super nice guy.....which is rare. I agree with Joe, the garage itself is the star of the show.

20K followed by monorail porn? -
And I think this is another important point. For someone who had already been through an immense amount of pain and physical therapy, it seems highly unlikely that he'd risk subjecting himself to even more of it should he survive the act....since the whole "suicide by coaster" plan doesn't necessarily guarantee you'll actually die.

Still taking the ball over the volcano. Even so, just from pictures alone, this place continues to look stunning! I'd totally buy one of those wristbands from you. -
Most Notable Accident

Just throwing that Tibidabadobadidobabo thing out there.....although I don't think it was the most notable. -
Scott, I've always been a fan of your opinions and your level headedness, but did you see the video? First off, thanks for the compliment, Chris. I did in fact watch the video in question. I've also read many of the articles written too, just so I could form a solid opinion on the matter. Honestly speaking, I'm sticking by my thoughts on this one. Personally I just don't see this as a possible suicide, and there's several reasons why I feel that way. For starters, naturally, the realistic side of me just says there's 1001 other ways to kill yourself. And usually if someone is depressed enough to the point of ending their own life, they're generally not thinking of "going out with a big thrill." Secondly, generally speaking, most people who commit suicide don't intentionally gather their family for the event. Finally, I noticed something I could directly relate to concerning the surviving family members who were interviewed. The suggested "calmness" and "accepting nature" with which they spoke of their fallen relative seemed to be directly related to their personal faith (as was referenced in the video clip of the deceased man). I understand not everyone will understand or even chose to give credit to that assumption or theory, and I always hesitate to bring religion to the conversation out of respect to everyone's own beliefs, but it was something that really stood out to me and helped solidify my opinion on the story. I'll also be the first to admit if I'm wrong on this, but I've got a really strong hunch that this was in no way a suicide.

Legoland Florida Discussion Thread
BeemerBoy replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Following a successful format from a sister park? That's just crazy talk!!! "Experts." I love the approach they're taking with the park! It can't be easy to infiltrate the biggest theme park market in the world, so why be bold about it? Just dip your toes in the water, and proceed cautiously. Makes sense to me. I'll always bet the house on Legos + Kids....especially in Central Florida.
