  1. You are correct young lady. I love to have my butt floated out of the seat . To me that's airtime . A tightly hugging restraint will prohibit that. That's my question.
  2. If the new restraints are tight you won't come out of the seats at all. We'll see...
  3. Did the "new restraints" keep you in the seat too much and loose the little airtime (hills #3 & part of #4) the ride had? I'm all for more comfort. I rode it 15 times on Father's day, and was quite beat up on Monday. I'll be back on the 4th of July weekend. Just wanted your expert opinion since you've already ridden it.
  4. My feelings exactly on all the rides you mentioned.
  5. Yes! The B&M takeover is coming into fruition! Anyways, what's your guys' opinions on Intimidator 305 vs. Millennium Force? I'm thinking of making a trip to KD, but I want to know if it'll be worth it. I never rode In-TRIM-idator pre-trims. The quick directional changes aren't comfortable now , I cannot imagine at faster speeds. Keep in mind I don't like Maverick at Cedar Point which has many quick direction changes. 305 hills = little airtime on hill #2, hill #3 is good, hill #4 would be good but the abrupt direction change terminates it. If you've got a choice between Millie and Trim-iadator, I'd opt for Millie right now.
  6. I don't agree! Much more airtime on the B&M at Carowinds than In-Trim-adator in Virginia. The first drop is pathetic. I'm not big on the 2 quick direction changes near the end of the ride too . I guess I could call this Maverick II . Needless to say, I'm not a Maverick fan.
  7. Didn't KD used to have a webcam on the ride so you could watch it or am I hallucinating? If they did, when did they take it down?
  8. Didn't KD have a webcam on Intimidator like Carowinds. I'd like to watch it...
  9. Cedar Fair has neutered the beast At least 3 or 4 new sets of trims to "save the ride from tearing itself up." IT RUINS THE PACING OF THE RIDE TOTALLY!
  10. I just looked at the Knotts website and Xcelerator isn't listed as being closed now. Yea!!!
  11. I disagree with your statement on trims. As I said I rode it last weekend on both Saturday and Sunday and they hit every time. I rode it over 20 times that weekend. If they "hit" differently, it maybe due to the train speed sensors.
  12. I don't even rate Inti-232 in my top 10 steel. Diamondback at KI is my #10 even with it's trims.
  13. Big surprise getting beat up on Ghostrider in the back. I'll only ride it in row 1 or 2 in the first car. Otherwise I'll pass.
  14. I was at Carowinds last weekend. Saturday was busy with the diabetes walk prior to the parking opening. I had to get my picture taken for my platinum pass anyway, so no biggy. The rides were fairly busy most of Saturday. Sunday before I flew home to Florida I got 13 consecutive rides in 3 hours on Inti-232. I must admit, I was disappointed with the 2 sets of trims on uphill runs. This really seems unnecessary.
  15. I'm not in California and still checking to see if it's running. Let's get HOT KNOTTS!!
  16. I'm looking forward to being at Carowinds this upcoming weekend. These idiots at Cedar Fair require you to get a new photo for your platinum pass each year. That's a major waste of time. I don't live anywhere near Charlotte or any C.F. park. 6 Flags takes your money and sends you a pass . This year a do have a reason to go with" Inti 232" now running. I like the B&M hypers but I hope it's not braked like Diamondback at K.I. That could be a great ride without all the brake runs. I guess I'll see soon...
  17. You can't have all positive reviews on this new ride. I'll be the spoiler. I was watching the guy behind Robb and looks like a lot of head banging with the restraints. It reminds me a lot of Maverick at Cedar Point which I don't like riding because of the head banging / neck bruising. I do need to ride it, but I'm not as positive as all of you are... Looks like nice though.
  18. I wasn't available to see this interview this morning. Did anyone see it??? Was anything significant discussed?
  19. Mark Shapiro interview tomorrow - Friday on CNBC Squawk Box between 6 - 9am. I didn't catch a more precise time. The promo said he'll be talking about stay-cations. We'll see what Mr. Six Flags has to say...
  20. I'm not at the WCB today at Knotts, so I don't know if there's any live updates from management. The Knotts website now says Xcelerator is down until April 30 !!! When will it all end???
  21. Had a great time at the Mountain yesterday at WCB. I come across the country from Florida for this. Thank Rob and staff ! Hey any news on Xcelerator while at Knotts today? I see the Knott's website now has posted Xcelerator is down through April 30 . I opted to return to the Mountain for more today Sunday . Just a wonderful time with all the extras at the Mountain yesterday. Thanks all...
  22. I was at Knotts again today. I spoke with one of the rideops and he said the state is requiring them to cycle the ride 1000 times before they'll approve. Not sure how accurate this is. I do remember someone mentioning in this thread about it running in the mornings before the opening. Looks like another trip to California without riding Xcelerator. I'm off to Magic Mountain tomorrow.
  23. I was at Knotts today to ride. Waveswinger is reassembled but not running yet. Nice new chains and seats. Looks nice without people on it ! No news from Guest Relations, I asked. The one train is in the station and the cables are now pulled taught . Looks like it's not too far off, but with the state and inspections who knows . It would be a nice surprise for WCB Sunday but I wouldn't hold my breath. coasternut
