  1. http://www.southparks.org/index.php?showtopic=3492&view=findpost&p=124472 It looks as if all the track is in place. Lets just hpe they put some hedges in
  2. Well Derek, you say that but i think they were going to sell it but the deal fell through. And from the concept art, not many hadge cutters around. They've also got an Orange train for it aparently, which aint too good. Last i heard the "theme" (If we can call what thorpe do theming!) will be based around cool surfer dudes, glad to see thorpe are in touch then...
  3. Aparently they had some complaining guests when they found out it was gone, though i can't believe that a couple of hunderd complaints warrent a coaster being brought back, I spose it means they get a cheap year after Stealth. I don't think it will be as good when it comes back, it was fun because of the hedges really, and with them gone, theres no point really.
  4. Yeah i don't think it'll be replaced. Theres not much that they could put there and another booster would be pointless (why would they put a new booster there? I'm so stupid :S). The capacity was rubbish and as Ed said, the queue wasn't the safest thing on a busy day.
  5. Trust me, all the fanboys around Thorpe are dying for a woodie, it would be amazing What do you mean "button" restraints? I've only ridden kraken and that was good so i wouldn't mind a floorless at thorpe, we need some more B&M's round here!
  6. Yeah, i'm just going on what Thorpes medium term development plan says. Though it's changed far too much to be taken seriously, some of the points probably still stand. Also, the consensus amoung employees seems to be that the next coaster will be a B&M (floorless or flyer). Either way i'm not complaining...
  7. Werent they going to build it on the other side of the park (further from the ropers) and have it on a far smaller scale than the previous plan? And i though flamingoland were definately getting a GCI, obviously not
  8. I'll talk about Thorpe Park for a bit beacuse i kinow next to nothing about the other parks! (feel free not to read this as it might get a little boring). Going back to the start of the topic, the park have stated a "true" woodie has a sturcture too dense for the park, so one can't be instaled. I also remember something about the ground not being right but that might be BS. Thorpe's MTDP (Medium Term Development Plan), although not very accurate, did confim that a woodie would not be suitable, a hybid might work though, but some don't think they're really woodies. I don't know where you got the idea of a launched flyer from (someone said it on the last page) but that was never considered. B&M don't like launches anyway and there's not much point with Stealth having another launched coaster regardless of the fact thats it would be a flyer. Thorpe farm can't be built on because it's too near to a school and the general thorpe village. I also think that there are some listed buildings on the site but that wouldn't stop them if they did build it there. Regarding intamin doing a woodie at AT because tussauds have bought many coasters off them, i'm not so sure. Every intamin coaster tussads have bought has had problems (less so colossus) so i don't think intamin are in the good books, but i wouldn't mind a plug and play anyway I'm bored of typing now (and you're probably bored of reading), so i'll stop. Dave "basically thorpe aren't getting a woodie" Wilson
  9. N00b time: Why do they build it on one big concrete slab? Is it to stop the wood being attacked by plants or something? The only other one i can think of that has a single "footer" is Balder but there must be more...
  10. One minute, Reverchorn supplied a product that was not safe to operate. LV have admitted breaching H&S and some of the blame will lie with them for not picking up on the fault, but ultimately it is the fault of the manufacturer for supplying a faulty product.
  11. Yeh all the birds that have been killed (about 5 or 6) have gone on the same bit of track, beginning of the bunny hop. They've given up clearing the feathers up now, if the carcus goes that a bonus...
  12. If you consider the value for maney you get with a tussauds annual pass, the BPB one is a joke. Even if you do get good value for money, some poeple just wont be able to afford it in the first place. Like selling a brand new ferrari for £30 000, incredible value for money, but just too expensive in the first place. On a tussauds pass, paying full price 3 times takes you well over the price of the pass, renewing is only £70 (bargain!) and you get 20% off in their shops. The qualitly of rides is also significantly better IMO. But i do love blackpool for the woodies!
  13. Ed, TP don't actually have a height celing, people just assume they do because all their rides suddenly stop just before it. As for the second tower, i'm upset it didn't happen, it would probably have been at S&S shot n drop which would have been great!
  14. It's better themed aswell!
  15. It think R&E are ontop of the parks opening dates...
  16. Not that Stealth is really scary or nerve-wrecking in the first place IMO... I'd say Detonator is the most intense ride in the park by a long way.
  17. The tower is 115ft so it's pretty tiny as they go. Basically it gives the sensations of a 200ft true drop tower. When the car gets to the top there are a series of jolts which most people usually think is the operator playing a trick on them by dropping it a little. This is the pnuematics engagin with the car. When the gondola is released, the pistons fire and shoot you down. This is why you don't just float gently out of your seat, you are chucked into your restraints. Yeah, i'm a little sad...
  18. Rollercoaster and possibly zipper dipper will be open, the other 3 woodies are closed.
  19. I would asume big dipper will be closed, and if its really windy the big one What attractions do you want to go on that you can't get on a wristband? When i went everything was on the wristband (even the shows).
  20. I'm not that impressed by coaster dynamix really. Its designed to look really realistic and it does (providing you spend enough time on it). But unless you anchor it really well the track shakes a bit, and from what i've heard you can't easily re-use the pieces so it's not a re-usable as they would like you to think. Also, once the train goes round, you lose the whole realistic thing because it goes round soo fast. I'd say go with k'nex, you can get tonnes more and do more with it. It's not realistic but thats not the end of the world.
  21. I kinda agree about the open poll thing. If people want you to know what they voted for, then they will say it. Also it could reduce conversation as people know others can just look up what they voted for so they won't explain their reasons etc. And it could discourage people from voting if they knew their votes would be known. But thats only in a small number of cases and on these boards, the kind of polls out there aren't very personal. It'll be useful for some polls so it's all ok in the end But yeah, liking the "recast vote" option, i'm a spastic sometimes and click the wrong thing...
  22. A k'nex one might not be powerful enough, certainly cheaper though...
  23. I really should get a life, i got first. But why am i above the other bloke who got 100?
  24. lol At least you can go to Blackpool just before you go home again!
  25. Robb, where abouts are you in this tiny country?
