Busch may sell parks in reorganization plan
crazydaveh replied to bgeguy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
As a former SeaWorld Orlando employee as well as a shareholder, I hate to see this. It honestly will suck if the parks are sold off. AB does put a lot into the parks, AB III still visits the parks when he can, AB IV likes the fact they operate in the black. If InBev goes to the shareholders, I won't sell. I want to keep AB American, even if their brews are lackluster, they're still a good company who provide us with free beer at the quality parks! Let's hope we continue to see this as we enter the parks! -
JZ's Six Flags Over Georgia Photo TR!
crazydaveh replied to PKI Jizzman's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This is the... (Wait for it.. Wait for it...) "The Never Ending Story" (Song) in terms of a TR! Quality pics, but man, it keeps going and going! -
Sea World Florida's new Gizmo
crazydaveh replied to Johnny Upsidedown's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Interesting... If Shamu would incorporate using these for dinner reservations or something similar to FP's at Disney, it might be worth it, otherwise, I know where the beer is at SW, no electronic map needed! -

JZ's Six Flags Over Georgia Photo TR!
crazydaveh replied to PKI Jizzman's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm going to, for only one time, agree with the Gator (GO DAWGS!). What in the world did they do to the Mindbender? I didn't like it when they painted it green from their old Grey model back in the day, but man, a TNT ad on a quality coaster? I knew Six Flags was desperate for cash, but not that desperate!!! Also... Great pics! Good eye and camera speed! -
AB is now going after the other half of Groupo Modello, the brewer of Corona. AB holds 50% of them now, but if they acquire them outright, InBev's offer will be weak to shareholders then... Thus keeping the buyout from taking place... For the time being. What InBev is trying to do is to buy all outstanding shares to become majority shareholders. With the offer of $65 per share, they're trying to lure smaller investors like myself to sell off. I admit, I have my price, but it's not $65. As stated before, I'm a fan of tasty beers, not AB beers, but admit, I drank my share of AB product in college... Let's just keep it here... Go Away InBev!

As an AB shareholder, I like the price they're offering, but I like the fact that AB is American owned more than money. If they do take the bid, who knows what will happen with the parks. Will they be sold? Hope not. Will they close? No. Will they operate the same? Who knows! One can speculate that maybe GE is enjoying Universal's profiting and might take the parks off AB's or InBev's hands, maybe Mickey might want to own some of Shamu, maybe Cedar Fair or Six Flags might want to get more into debt and try to compete in Orlando (which they can't cause it's themeing here, not coaster cities). We can come up with any scenario we want, we just don't have a clue what's to come of this. I do know one thing, if they do take the buyout, a lot of old school Bud drinkers will most likely find their way to another watered down brand, cause it won't be American' anymore! If only they could afford Sam Adams... That's a quality beer!

YEEEEHAWWWW! That Photo TR to the Hazard County Museum is just awesome! I see some photoshopping coming with the car jumping something with that pic of you in it! Quality stuff all around! Next time you're in Otown, let me know. I'm buying the first few rounds for that TR!

Universal Orlando Annual Pass Promotions?
crazydaveh replied to plaboon's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
They will do them off and on. I believe that promotion usually hits around September/October with a coupon from Wendy's! -
It reminds me of how SFoG says the awesome (it is awesome) Mindbender is the "first triple looping" coaster. We all know that last inversion is barely an inversion, but a hardcore overbanked helix. Still, I wish this park was open during Oktoberfest! I'd give it a try. I guess we'll have to wait for either Wet N Wild or Schliterbahn (spelling?) to bring a similar one here!
-
I don't know how I feel about this. If you don't go when all the tourists are here, you can pretty much walk on or enjoy a very minimal wait on just about everything at BGT. I know August Busch III and his son "number IV" who's now in charge were not fans of this a few years back, or they were not in favor of the "Fast Pass" Disney uses. Maybe they like the idea of padding the bottom line more! If they added the Brewmaster's Club to it, then it might be worth it for the free beer, but unless that happens, BRING BACK BEER SCHOOL AND no thanks for me!

Six Flags Magic Mountain X2 Campout!
crazydaveh replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It looks like a lot of fun, too bad our trip out west was spoiled because a kid is on the way! Oh well, some day I'll take the kid out there and say, "I could have been on this when it opened, but because of you, I had to stay in Orlando." Stinks the Otown parks don't do campouts. Well, if you think about it, if Universal held one, we'd all hit Pat O'Brien's and get wasted, if Disney held one, We'd hit PI and get wasted, and if Shamu held one, they would give us free beer and we'd all get wasted! Please Otown parks, have a campout! -

Photo TR: Six Flags New England
crazydaveh replied to Token Yankee Guy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Nice trip report. I do have one question, how does the Sam Adams Brewhouse serve Bud Light? I know it's a business thing, but come on! Why ruin a quality brew with Crud Light? That's what SeaWorld and Busch Gardens is for! I also liked the banner saying they will remove you from the park for smoking in non designated areas. If only the Orlando parks would follow Six Flags for once! Just for the smoking thing though! -
TPR's first ever Hard Rock Park PhotoTR
crazydaveh replied to jarmor's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Nice TR. At first, I was on the, "it's small and young and sucks" bandwagon, it reminded me of Wild Adventures in south Georgia with a music theme, but then I thought about it and realized, it's a newbie all around. IOA was built to compete with it's neighbors, so they had to bring in the big stuff and spend $$$. In time, I think HRP will grow. Will it be successful? Who knows. Time and money will tell. -

Robb & Jahan Go To White Castle

I I can just imagine the scene... A bunch of people running to the bathroom at a park that day with a hand trying to "plug" something... Then they all went on a massive search for some Imodium! Two hours later... they could ride again. -

WrestleMania crowds at Orlando?
crazydaveh replied to spacemtfan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I was at WM 24, it was fun, and no, it did not mean there were a ton of drunken people in Orlando, it's Spring Break, the drunks are all the parents who are drinking because of the crowds! -
I'll chime in here about the weight and restraints stuff. Last year I kind of let it all go. I hit 260 while standing at 6 feet tall. I live here in Orlando and visit all the parks a lot. I got on the Hulk last February and couldn't get it to click. I wasn't in the over-sized seats, but had always fit in the regular seats with ease. This was embarrassing to say the least. The attendant was cool about it. The guy helped get it to click and get the seat belt in and said it was probably the heavy fleece jacket I was wearing, but we both knew that wasn't the case. This scared me because I was going to Cedar Point for the first time in May. I knew they have smaller restraints than Orlando parks (at least that I had read about) and didn't want to miss anything up there. I started running about three miles a night and lifting weights. I had no problems at CP and now I'm down 36 pounds and can click several times on the Hulk. Sometimes we just need a wake up call, mine was the Hulk. I hope the show helps others who need a "jumpstart." Oh... the best part, the man boobs shrink!!!

Wet N' Wild Orlando
crazydaveh replied to ETapley0687's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think the best thing is for the park to close and move over to Universal Land. It can help keep people on property in the hot summer months and compete with Aquatica. Shamu looks to have built a nice park, even though there are still rumors among employees that the wave pool was built with problems and they might have to tear it up and rebuild in the coming months prior to the soft opening. If Wet N Wild does shut down, there will be at least a year where Aquatica will be the only non Disney waterpark here in Otown up and running. With this said, WNW will have to "wow" us all to bring us back to their new/revised/moved park, but in the end, it's us who are the winners as the two companies hopefully will battle it out to better each other, offering more stuff to do! -
PTR 4 Disney Parks in One Day 12/8/07
crazydaveh replied to Sue's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have done the 4 parks in one day adventure many, many times. It can be exhausting but fun. I did like all the pics, except for the UGLY Gator ones... GO DAWGS!
