I just wanted to bring this up. Everyone says that all SLCs are painfull. This one isn't. I MUST TELL THE WORLD!!!!!! I make run-on sentinces. Sue me.

About a year-and-a-half ago, I ended up at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom, with my parents and sister and her boyfriend, for one reason or an other. I rode T2 a few years prior, but when we got to it, I was all "What the hell, let's ride it!" Now, after already having ridden it, I was almost positive that this was a BAD IDEA. This ride was the epitome of painful Vekomas, as it was the first SLC in America. The line was long because they were running 1 train, so as we continued, I wasn't sure if waiting any longer would be worth it. Naturally, seeing as this is Six Flags, they were running 2 trains on Chang, because it would be stupid to run multiple trains on the low capacity coasters. Anyway, we finally made it into the station, where things really slowed down. I began to notice that you could actually SEE the trains shaking and rattling side to side and back and fourth during the inversions, and I though to myself, "This is @$%#ing stupid. What am I doing." Once our train was next, we decided that it was too late to turn back, so we awaited or destined fait. We the air gates opened, and we sat in our seats. At this point, I realized that these weren't the trains I rode in two years ago. They weren't worn and torn much, and none of the paint had chipped or faded yet. The harnessed looked the same, but in sides od the OTSR has new pads, which felt as soft as memory foam. That when it hit me. "I knew I wanted to ride this monster for a reason!!!!" I hadn't heard of a train recall or anything like that, so I knew i was lucky. The ride itself was incredibly bumpy and shaky, but not rough. I couldn't believe it. These new "restraint pillows", as I call them now, absorbed all of the painful head-banging! The old restrains felt like they had thick, rubber, inflated pads, which actually bounced your head back and fourth during the ride. These new ones just sank in whenever I smacked into them. Amazing. As a result, I came off the ride feeling like I just waited in an hour for a great inverted coaster, even though I knew it was just T2. Am I the only one who's had this experience?!?!

Hey, you stole my exaggeration!!!! YOU @%!#$!!!!! Wow, so this one has worse breaks than all of the other ones? That's sucks.

The Wild Mouse at Dorney Park is awful. You go from full speed (though it's not very fast) to completely stopped in less than 2 seconds. No sh1t.

Most Memorable Roller Coaster Ride?
Axman replied to sfmmrules!'s topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Back seat on Ghostrider is my most fond memorable experience. Truly the best woodie i've been on so far. Back seat on Son of Beast is my least fond memorable experience. Truly the worst woodie i've been on so far. It's funny how my last two statements are so similar, yet so different. -

I thought Rip Tide at Knott's was fantastic, so this is good news! Top Spins, especially suspended ones, are better than topple towers, in my opinion. Have ridden both, one certanly out ranks the other. -

Past or Present Great America?
Axman replied to sfmmrules!'s topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think PGA could have used Steel Venom more than Dorney. Of course, that would mean the the Ex-Mariott's parks are the only parks in america with 3 full-size inverted coasters. Also, they each would have had a B&M, a launch Intiman, and a shuttle Vekoma! All of them inverted! If PGA ended up with SV, the irony would be insane. -
Captain`s Big CHINA / THAILAND Tour - LAST PART: BANGKOK

I didn't think that those "inverted wild mouse" coasters from RCT3 actually existed. Too bad the real ones look cheap and feel rough. -

The trains look cozy and smooth. Everyone wants a piece of the compact launch coaster pie. -

Did anyone happen to notice Eagle? I don't mean to draw attention away for Tony, but The Screamin' eagle looks gorgeous! It's the best it's looked in years! SFStL suddenly has so much more appeal, with Tony, painted Eagle, and Rocket's! -
Great America or Knotts Berry Farm?
Axman replied to sfmmrules!'s topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've been to both parks. I've been to Knott's twice, and PGA so many times, I lost count. Top Gun is good, but I'm not sure if it's better than Silver Bullet. SB has better inversions, but TG definitely has a better drop. It's a tough call. Ghostrider, being my #1 coaster, kicks the living sh1t out of Grizzly. Grizzly isn't really that bad, (though I haven't ridden it since 2000) it's just really slow around the elevated turn-around. The rest of the ride is so-so. Invertigo is, of course, better than Boomerang, as is Demon, but Xcelerator (and Ghostrider, for that matter) is better than anything at PGA. Knott's still has their shuttle loop, so they score big points with me. Knott's also has better theming, location, atmosphere, food, entertainment, flat rides, and water rides. Supreme Scream, however, pales in comparison to Drop Zone, so PGA also scores points with me. In short, Knott's is better. -
Past or Present Great America?
Axman replied to sfmmrules!'s topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Paramount's Great America is my Ex-Home park. For 4 years, it was "my shelter and my shade" (random U2 reference). I was there when they first announced Stealth, and went there several times afterwards. I saw it during its several stages of construction. Every time we went to PGA, we rode the Sky Ride to check on Stealth's progress. It got bigger and bigger each time we went. I rode it several times; on the opening weekend, every day we went to the park following the opening, and during ACE events involving the ride itself, Demon, and Psycho Mouse. During the events, I rode it 9 and 12 times in a row. This was a very close ride to me, and I cried when I read that it was leaving. We moved to Tennessee before it was torn down, but I rode it one last time. Triple Play, Triple Wheel, Sky Hawk, and Greezed' Lightnin' were also very good rides. Unfortunately, from what I can remeber, these rides weren't patronized much on any given day. Greezed Lightnin' was sold to SFI for parts, which means that it will never run again. -
I miss Greezed Lightnin' fro PGA. It was fast, fun, and never had a line! Six Flags bought it for parts!
