  1. TPR is my home page and I check the forum at least 1-2 times a day. I love PTRs and news bullitens, but my FAVORITE thing on the TPR forums is anything to do with Japan!
  2. Do they have a for sale signs in front of Flashback and Freefall yet?
  3. You know what suprizes me? Alton Towers probably gets rainy days 1/2 of the year, and yet they have so many water rides.
  4. Huh......no Chiller? SF has their head up their ass if they think they can sell Deja Vu and Flashback. It's plain bad business. Oh, and all of these rides SF's? "Yes, I'd like to put a down-payment on a 1st Gen. Intamin Freefall please..."
  5. Nope. Spin Out had a much more lush surroundings. I do miss these rides. They used to eveywhere, and now their almost all gone.
  6. Lets try this one. What does this look like to you?
  7. The crash scene from Rollercoaster scared the crap out of me. No wonder Ocean View shut down.
  8. ^ Were you're parent's ride ops? My parents met as ride ops at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk!
  9. This time I need to vent about something other than coasters. CF gets a lot of heat for have ing to many trash cans. WTFWTFWTFWTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PEOPLE GET THE F*** OVER IT. ALL I EVER HEAR IS "OOH CF HAS TOOOOOOOOOO MANY TRAHS CANS. SO WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! WOULD YOU RATHER CHOSE A PARK WITH TOO MANY TRASH CANS OR NOT ENOUGH*cough*sfmm*cough*!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! I'M SICK AND TIRED OF PEOPLE FINDING REASONS TO PICK ON A WELL-RUN AMUSEMENT FOR SOMETHING AS PETTY AS "TOO MANY TRASH CANS"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ... I'm sorry. I just feel aggrivated, and I need to get that out of my system. I feel better now.
  10. ..."How fucking dare ANY OF YOU eat Paris Hilton! She's had a hard year! Here boyfriend gave her crabs! Tinkerbell's mother commited suicide! She has a hang nail! LEAVE PARIS ALONE RIGHT.........NOW. If any of you want to eat Paris Hilton, you're going to have to go through me! In response to this, the zombies stabbed Chris through the chest with a goose feather, and presently devoured him as he expired. After making a meal out of Chris, and then stuffing themselves with Paris for dessert the zombies decided to...
  11. ^^ You forgot Bottom's Up! It wans't there very long, but I've ridden some counterparts and it's a great flat.
  12. Right-O! The larger sky ride was called the Southern Cross, which was built in 1977, only one year after the park opened. It started next to Orleans Orbit, and went out to where Raging Bull is now. A second station for the ride was planed for the new "Great Southwest" area of the park for 1979. Unfortnately, the Great Southwest plan fell through, and the Southern Cross existed it's whole life with just one station. Without a second station, the Southern Cross's main purpouse deteriated, and led to the ride's demise. Even though a Southwest themed area did eventualy emerge at GA in 1996, the Souther Cross was long gone, having since been removed in 1982. There's a lot more great pictures of Southern Cross (as well as a complete representation of early Marriot's Great America) here There's lots to be seen in these pictures, including shots of the Sky Wheel, several other defunct rides, and the Turn of the Century before and after the Demon remodel. Oh, and BTW, the other park with a 2nd overlaping sky ride was Six Flags Over Georgia Here's the full picture.
  13. What year was it taken out? I remember going to GA when i was little and riding Demon (my first coaster) and it wasnt there. They must have just removed it right when i went. either that, or i just dont remember it being there. I dunno, that thing was hard to miss. In fact, the Sky Wheel is about the only thing I remeber from my first trip. I've been so many times, that all of the memories run together. Since that first trip was the only trip with Sky Wheel, it's probably the only reason why I can remeber that first trip in particiular. The Sky ride closed at the end of the 1997 seaon to make room for Invertigo. I remeber when It first opened--the ride concept alone was SICK!!! 6 inversion, forwards/backwards, beneith the track w/ no floor insane coaster experience! It really was an insane ride when you ride it when you're 8 years old.
  14. ^ They are. I was there in May, and they were taking much pride in the Sizzler ride, which had just received a cement foot print and wooden guard rails. I looked really nice. I'm excited to hear about these new rides. I'm positive that both of them will get nice foot prints a wooden guard rails, just like Sizzler. Shock Drop is totaly excellent. I don't care how carnival-ish it may seem. It rocks ass.
  15. ^ Astute observation. This was one of two amusement parks to ever have two sky rides overlapping. Both parks have long since removed the higher of each of their two sky rides.
  16. I don't think it can get any worse than Space Salamander. Comming Soon: Galaxy Gecko
  17. This is a bit random, but I wish Disney had an event every year on December 5th for Walt's birthday...
  18. I rode the Sky Wheel once in 1997 on my 6th birth day. I totaly loved it, and I was shocked when I went back the following summer and there was a large yellow and purple thing that went forwards and backwards...
