Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread
Axman replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've only posted it twice. Once on the other Dominator thread, and once hear. I was the last one to post on the other Dominator thread, so I thought I would post it here too. -
Yes. You are more likely to die on the toilet than at an amusement park. However, if you're on the toilet at an amusemet park, then you're screwed.

BCBT Announcement: Unfortunately, the lack of Animal research has lead to a Big Cat backlash for the owners of Big Cats Big World. The various varieties cats that were forced to be in contact with one another became very upset and unhappy. This lead to PETA coming in and fighting for the rights of these cats, who had quickly come to dislike their new home. To prevent any further discrepancy, BCBT sold all 16 cats to the local Zoo for 4 Elephants. The Elephants, who are quite happy to be living together, have now taken up residence in the former cat sanctuary. BCBT has just recently finished renaming everything from "Big Cats'" to "Big Elephants'". Everything, including the park's name, the viewing galleries, and the Safari ride, had their names changed. The new "BEBT" amusement park opened on schedule, and the Elephants were quite happy to be there. All of the cat caves were replaced with elephant houses, and some of the trees were spaced apart to give the Elephants more room in their habitat. The Bird's Eye Flyer roller coaster is at a high enough clearance to give the Elephants plenty of room to go underneath, so nothing about the ride itself was changed. Opening day went smoothly, and the park will hopefully thrive as Big Elephants' Big Thrills instead of Big Cats' Big Thrills.

More of the opening update. I had to stop in the middle and resize all iof my pictures because they were getting too big. One last shot of the safari cutting through the park. Here's the entrances to the coasters. Station to the Safari ride in front of a knot of coaster track. Now it's spiraling over the exhibit. Here's the Bird's Eye Flyer, careening out of the mountain. Abstract coastery goodness from far away. Nightmare Express: THROUGH THE TREES Entrance walkway The park's central hub is filling with people.

That's mostly because it's only facing in one direction. The exhibit if much fuller to the right.

I'm going to add some Hollys around te various tunnels. Is there a way to take pictures without the menu bars on the top and left?

..the extreme weight of the ACEr, minus the gravity on the moon, caused the kiddie coaster to come uprooted from the moon shortly after he was strapped in. The fat ACEr, along with a handful of frightened Martian children who were on vacation, floated out into the atmosphere, coaster in all, and was launched into orbit around the Earth until...

Which Coaster Gives The Best AIRTIME???
Axman replied to Crazy4Coasters!'s topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Millennium Force has phenomenal airtime during the hill right after the first tunnel, and right before the second tunnel. Jack Rabbit and Phantom's Revenge at Kennywood have insane airtime. Kennywood gets my vote for "Best Airtime Park". One that really surprised me was Gemini. If you sit towards the back of the train, there's excellent airtime on the drop following the highly elevated curves. I got red marks on my belly from being launched out of my seat! I think Ghostrider has some of the best airtime ever, which is why its my #1. Lots of high speed bunny hops creating violent pops of airtime. The SC Giant Dipper also has wonderful floater airtime over the various dips. Here's Millennium Force's underreated airtime hills. -
Why did they do that?
Axman replied to Fallen Heretic's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I can't figure out why The Rattler was butchered into oblivion. Why did they do that? -
Pre-Opening Construction of BCBT went smoothly, and now the rides are testing and getting ready to open. Nightmare Express A B&M sit down coaster with a launched incline and 5 inversions. Bird's Eye Flyer A Vekoma Flaying Dutchman with an inverted dive loop off the lift hill. Big Cats' Safari An in-depth exploration of the Big Cat sactuary. Here's some more twisted bits on the Flyer. Tis mess of track features 2 more of Nightmare Express's inversions. This inversion, which is the second of 5 , is the tallest point on the Nightmare Express. This is the Bird's Eye Flyer's fantastic first drop. Here's the view from inside one of the 2 viewing galleries. Nightmare Express feautres an open station.

California's Great America sounds much better than Great America alone. -
I've been a member for over 7 years. Does the DCA remodel look promising?
