  1. No big deal, considering they have had bad luck with weather. It's not like they've done this on purpose. After all, CW is loosing money having their starship ride closed. BTW, I have read that the ride is supposed to rotate at 50 km/h (30 mph -ish). Wasn't it meant to rotate at 75 km/h (45 mph)? And the ride cycle sounds a bit short going up and down the tower in just 50 seconds...
  2. I tried that ride at the April's Fair in Barcelona and it was AMAZING. At the beginning it felt like a regular frisbee ride but when the ride op released the brakes from the gondolas, the feeling of being out-of-control was amazing. Very intense, even in a fairly tame mode. I am sure this will please thrill-seekers.
  3. None. I have ridden a GIB, if that counts.
  4. This has to be one of the coolest looking Star Flyers. I like the colour scheme
  5. This is truly amazing! Really...I think you should send this video and some pictures of this amazing project to Cedar Point. I recall an entry from their blog talking about a girl that recreeated CP's skyline on a blackboard.
  6. Judging by these pictures, the area looks colourful and nice but a bit too shiny and striking for such a relaxing land like Polynesia. Tami tami looks great with the overhauled trains. Have PA installed cameras on Tami tami? I don't recall these little black dots on the cover of the previous trains... And the commercial makes this land very appealing for families although the unofficial height restrictions are a bit deceiving. A land family-focused with rides that most kids under 3 can't enjoy. There are only *3* rides where a kid under 90 cm (36 inches) can ride, and only 1 of them is new (the train station ). Oriol "A kid needs to be at least 40 inches tall to ride Tami tami with an adult . I guess they are learning from SFMM " Monroig
  7. I will be surprised if this gets build as seen in the render images, if build at all. Elections are coming up in Murcia region and this is the perfect chance for politicians to promise a new park, which would save the economy of the region. Let's face it: Spain already has 4 parks, none of which is doing well, except for PA. Why bother building a new one that's going to do a Hard Rock after the first or second season? Heck, not even the ride selection or themeing stands out as original or surprising. As an enthusiast, I am glad to have a few more credits a few miles (actually, about 250 miles ) down the road.
  8. It was never released that the seats would spin. Everyone was hoping that something would happen with the seats, but they never said they would spin. I recall reading early rumours pointing that B&M would use this layout as a test to see how these new trains run and then, in the future, maybe swap them for the revolving version. Remember that this has happened before with B&Ms like SheiKra: the track was ready but not the floorless version of the trains so B&M decided to run regular trains instead.
  9. Wow, the new spinning coaster track looks sexy! And judging by the pictures, the coasters seems bigger than I expected. BTW, I am curious to see how the new (improved) track affects the ride in terms of smoothness, maintenance and cost.
  10. Wow, they are really hurrying the construction. Hopefully track will be completed in two weeks or less.
  11. Only 5 trains? I thought this would be like Maverick with 6 trains and a station allowing 2 trains to be loaded at a time. Nice to see the trackwork has been completed. Now it's time to see what Busch does best: theme and landscape their coasters so that they blend in the area.
  12. Hopefully, they will let cars dispatch with uneven weight on both sides, making for some crazy rides. The only thing I am worried about is the ride's structure. These coasters need few supports but they have to be strong to cope with the extreme forces during the ride, thus needing foundations. How is Intamin going to deal with that?
  13. Well, considering Investindustrial (current PA owners) used to run Gardaland, I am not surprised to see similarities to the Prezzemolo (whatever spell it has) area.
  14. This could be the group of ride operators/attendants that will work the ride... Just guessing.
  15. Are both spikes going to be covered or just this one little bit? It's looking very very good. I hope the ride experience with the new trains, audio and FX (?) are as good as the looks of the coaster.
  16. Done! Very interesting survey. Let's hope the input helps!
  17. ^Not too long. It's odd. Parque Warner has this amazing coaster line-up yet their attendance is lower than Parque de Atracciones'. Even on busy days, the line for Stunt Fall is about 30/45ish minutes.
  18. Jeez... what's next? This is plain ridiculous. The Nachos might have been hot, but parents should have looked after their kid to prevent him from burning himself with the cheese. Oriol "Wishes Disney would sue these people back for being SO stupid" Monroig
  19. That means they have only bought 2 new trains? Are they keeping a third one? I thought PMBO could run 3 trains since it has a MCBR
  20. ^Are these brand new trains or have they just received a paintcoat? If they are new, I would have expected them to be a bit different. I don't know what upgrades can be made to these trains but I was hoping for something more exciting...
  21. Didn't Dragon's Fury at Chessington have some issues with the restraints not too long ago? It could be the manufacturer's fault but then again, seeing the park's accident record in the past six months this doesn't come as a surprise... BTW, anyone familiar with this park's operations knows if they check restraints before dispatching trains?
  22. For me the biggest disappointment has been PNDOL collapsing. I know it's kinda biased and personal but I find it was quite shocking. That, and Timberliners still not ready on Voyage. I would have loved to see them run before the season was over. Hopefully this will lead to a better perfomance once they are definitely operating on Voyage.
  23. Two things: - There's these rumours about Parc Asterix and Gröna Lund getting a B&M Inverted coaster. We've seen draws and 3D sketches (don't know if they were official or not) but, are they going to be built? - More info about the new Rainbow Magicland Park in Rome. Can you get us any information besides what we know (the two Maurer coasters): shows, flats, other quirky stuff... Thanks a lot guys and have a lot of fun!
  24. The 2012 addition is rumoured to be a new coaster in China. The rumours have been floating around lately about a new B&M coaster located right next to Khan. The coaster will be placed in an area where a restaurant stands now (Canton, which almost never opens). The coaster itself won't be themed but the queues are said they will be heavily themed (a bit like Khan, so, good coaster but no themeing whatsoever). The two models that are being discussed are a Dive Machine or a Flying Coaster. What we know is that it will be Europe's tallest coaster in its category and it will be a world-class one. Let these rumours be TRUE, please, because PA needs another reliable crowd pleaser after all these years with Intamins. I am not saying that Hurakan Condor or Furius Baco were not good additions but in all honesty, even after 15 years of operation, Khan still kicks some serious butt (it pulls long lines and everyone recognises it as the Park's signature ride), and doesn't have as many technical problems as the more recent additions.
  25. It depends on what you like. Europa Park has blueFire (a personal #1) and SilverStar, plus a wide ratnge of other very good and well themed family coasters. Alton Towers has this quirky coaster lineup because of the height restrictions. It has world-famous roller coasters like Nemesis and some world-firsts like Rita, Air or Oblivion that make this park a MUST. Thorpe Park is a bit overrated IMO. A lot of coasters most of which don't really stand out. Good ride selection though. PortAventura has a good variety of coasters too. You have the biggest European B&M, Dragon Khan, and what used to be an awesome wooden coaster with Stampida (again, pretty unique). Then you get the only Arrow Mine train in Europe (I guess that's nothing really outstanding but still a rare credit) and Furius Baco, the crown jewel. Last, Parque Warner. This was built following your typical SF-layout with American-sized coasters. So, you get a Batman clone (really really good), a huge B&M floorless (overrated IMO), a big-ass RCCA (I guess this is not really something to be proud of, oh well lol) and two really good family coasters (a Zierer double-eight coaster and a Mack YoungStar). The edge of this park is Stunt Fall. Maybe not the best coaster there (I prefer Batman) but still a rare and awesome credit. For me, it's a tie between Europa Park and Alton. Couldn't agree more.
