Villain Begins Reconstruction

At least, they could have replaced that section with a floater hill... Damn! it's straight track... and a pretty long section :S -
^Yes! Firstly, for those saying the point of this thread, I think it's actually really interesting to see someone explaining his fear of riding coasters, and at the same time introducing himself. Welcome! Don't be scared of riding other coasters than BTM. I mean, BTM (at least the Paris version) is pretty big and the final drop is one of the best I have ever experienced. It totally caught me by surprise. And, as CGM has stated, most coasters do look really big and 'ooooh!' but in the end are less intense and more fun than one could think at the first sight. I mean, coasters are designed so that everyone can enjoy them without fearing falling from a car or forces being too high to be tolerable by the general public. Sometimes, reviews from coaster enthusiast sites tend to exagerate the feelings and create an hype, which most of the time, doesn't match the actual coaster. I am not saying that coasters are tame and boring... just don't believe everything you read and go ahead with coasters! They are fun, and as soon as you ride the next few coasters and you enjoy them, you will be hoping for more and more! Just take it easy

Korea to receive B&M inverted
oriolat replied to Ed's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Remember that outside America, not everyone goes sueing-happy all the time. But, yep, I guess they could get sued for using official pictures from other parks without their permission. -
If the ride is no longer recognised by Intamin as a ride of theirs... how could Disney replace the section on the loop with Intamin track? I guess only Intamin Rides can supply this kind of pieces... Anyway, this story is quite interesting, but I'd like to know even more details, like, why did they have to change the brake setting and such (if the ride was working properly)...

What? No mate, this is not an extended version... it's just a clone. I think that 25 seconds is what it takes from launch to hit the brakes and 49 seconds from launch to unloading. I still don't see this addition excition (from an enthusiast) but I reckon that the GP's will rush to go on the ride! Good and cheap move for Tussaud's. -

The OFFICIAL name for this coaster will be "Furious Baco" I love it! It's just SO original and I think it really suits the coaster. For those who don't know, Baco was the roman God of wine, orgies and fun among many other things. This god used to be considered as the craziest and often got drunk. Since the theme of the coaster is a device to pick up and transport grapes to make wine, I think it suits the ride perfectly. The monkey and the inventor will be the main characters to make up the story... The inventor is actually the one that creates the machine (the actual coaster) and the monkey is the inventor's pet which will be really nice, but also really naughty. The microsite also explains how the queue area should be. The first part of it will be set in a sort of grape wood to see how the robots pick the grapes, then, we will enter the indoor queue where we will see dummies and robots being tested for the new invention and how they are crashed. The final part will be us boarding the train to be the new 'test dummies' for the ride... -
Most forceful coaster you've been on.

I second the Batman La Fuga opinion (WBMWM). The loops and the helixes are REALLY intense... I think some even called this to be the most intense of the Batman clones... maybe it's because of the 7-row trains, which probably pull the train faster than the 8-row models... -
The news says that Tizona WON'T be removed from the park. It just has to be moved to the other side of the park to make way for a Hotel in the Iberia area. Tizona is a SLC and it will be placed next year between the Labyrinth of Minotaur and the simulator called The Lost Temple. This is sad news... they'd better scrap that stupid SLC and have a brand new ride. The park really needs a decent coaster sincer Magnus Colossus is a bad-ass coaster and Tizona a standard SLC... Hope that helps

Yes, but I prefer the lemon soda. Do you happen to have sex on coasters?

Best Themed Queue Line
oriolat replied to eskater132's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
1- Pirates of the Caribbean (Disneyland Park) 2- Batman la Fuga (Parque Warner) 3- Coaster Express (Parque Warner) - but only the former queue area. Nowadays you cannot see the themeing because the queue building is no longer in use. 4- Templo del Fuego (PortAventura) 5- Sea Odyssey (PortAventura) -

Source: Terra and PA-Community The article comes from the spokesman of PortAventura and says that the coaster will be opened in 2007. It says again that it will accelerate from 0 to 135 (84 mph) in 3,5 seconds, and he compares it to the acceleration that a racing car might have. Finally, the investment for that ride will be around 15 million €uros, as said above, in the article. The article also confirms that the construction should begin early because it will be unique in Europe. He describes it as a 'shuttle coaster' (WTF?) and it will have a lenght of 850 meters (about 2600 feet) and will last 30 seconds. This figures let us know that the initial 55 seconds were a rip-off. 30 seconds of adrenaline and the rest, unloading and loading. Finally it says that the trains will go really close to the ground, and sometimes going through trenches dug to create a 'oh-my-god-I-am-going-to-crack-my-legs' feeling. One detail, which in my view is important: the ride will feature three 24-passenger trains divided into 6 rows of 4 people sitting at either of the sides of the rails (2 per side), instead of the 2 27-passenger trains initially stated. So, what do you think of these new details confirmed about the new coaster? Personally, I'm getting more and more disappointed with this new ride. I thought it would have at least some height to get some major airtime, but no... a crappy figure-8 layout. -
^This mass of wood is Stampida. By the way, this was my first woodie!

So... here you are the VIDEO you ALL were waiting for... Project Cisne - aka PortAventura's 2007 Coaster video! Click here! This is NOT the final layout. This is a video-render to see how the coaster would look like with the Wing-Walker trains on it. You can see it's quite huge and that this kind of train is capable of performing inversions... so we shall see! Besides, there will be themeing around the ride, so DO NOT take in account the video... it's just to get a general idea of the ride. By the way... the project has been named: PROJECT CISNE And there have been spotted some groundwork around the area of the coaster... expect to see some stuff soon! I'll bring some photos for you -

What is the scariest ride in the world?
oriolat replied to martinb's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^So true!! LOL I think one of the most terryfing experiences is Hurakan Condor... If you want to see some videos about this ride: http://www.pa-community.com/paginas/videos.php (I recommend you the one named 'Show todo'). Then you will realise how stunning this ride can be. -
Coaster Exprees (formerly Wild Wild West) at Parque Warner (or WBMWM). From the latest reviews the ride has been neutered quite a lot. I mean, in the first season of operation of the park this coaster (with new-gen Intamin trains) was butter-smoth but then, the ride turned into something really rough and since that moment, the ride have been worse and worse every season- It used to have some airtime in the two last hills and even in the big one after the big upward helix, but now it's hurts like a b*stard.
