New shuttle coaster for Conny Land for 2007
Ed replied to thomas2's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This ride looks about as stable as Zimbabwe's economy.. -
Corkscrew looked rather terrible in those bright yellow colours towards the end of its life tbh. Dark purple is a much nicer track colour than vomit yellow.

Universal Studios Japan (USJ) Discussion Thread

I would like to take this thread to express actual love for Wes' avatar. -
@Flipdude: It's a tire driven lift hill. No flywheel. And the ride starts by going into a left hand turn out of the station, no launch and no backwards cars. @Anyone suggesting alternate endings: No. There are no alternate endings, only badly drawn plans. However the ride does go backwards for part of it towards the end.

The feeling of your head hitting the OTSR is going to be amazing too. That turn better be glass smooth or else, ouch.. -

A shame that drop leads into a corner. -
Another PR stunt from Merlin. Don't take it too seriously.

I hope you've got a strict teeth brushing regime in your house. All these cakes are awesome! My baking attempts normally turn out disastrous! Flapjacks that crumble into granola, and cakes that never set in the middle! I've mastered the art of Fairy Cakes though!

Insufficient restraints on coasters
Ed replied to mattnz's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Without the shoulder part on the restraints you would fly forwards into the seat infront of you. The brakes are kind of harsh on Rita.. -

They look, rather horrible. What's wrong with the normal wooden coaster trains? -
All these strange measurements are confusing me. What on earth is a cup? (I can only think of that DREADFUL video with 2 girls in it when the word is mentioned..)

Thorpe Park Discussion Thread
Ed replied to Rooey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Thorpe's mazes have been rather lacking in scare factor in previous years i've found. I honestly don't see them running this all year round with a full host of "actors" in it to scare people. It'll probably be restricted to weekends during school terms when the park isn't that busy (2hour queues instead of 3 hours. ) and then full on from summer till halloween. -
I miss Sydney! It's such a shame Luna Park gets stick from local residents. The location is stunning and perfect for a small park.

I love Windows 7 It lets me run programs!!! Unlike a certain previous POS I shall not mention

I would actually have a heart attack if Alton Towers themed this ride to Twilight. Then i'd go live there 24/7! Hmmm sparkly.

World Joyland in China
Ed replied to Gutterflower's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
A very bad translation. Maybe China's way out of the "recession" is to build loads of themeparks.. Now if only the UK did that. -
I'm installing it as soon as it arrives through the post, which may be a while considering Royal Mail is going on a two day strike... Still. It can't be any worse than Vista.

Alton is fantastic when there are no queues. Actually it's fantastic no matter what! Good report!
-
It's replacing Corkscrew, a family rollercoaster. You can't expect them to put up another Nemesis or Oblivion. I think it looks excellent! A shame it's hidden by the monstrosity of Rita.
