News: PETA Files Suit Against SeaWorld
dragonskeep replied to chadster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ You are a genius, problem solved. Or put them in a giant pool where there only possible release would be by rod and reel. -
I will hold out hope that this was an accident. It really was just the one incident, a very bad one but just one. I have been hit with items a couple times on coasters including a good whack in the eye on DD, I always assumed it was a big bug. With the nature of the man's injury I am guessing cell phone, what a surprise. Get a locker jerks.

News: PETA Files Suit Against SeaWorld
dragonskeep replied to chadster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Peta very often makes a joke of itself, this is right on par for them. Where could it possibly end for Peta? Seaworld in the past has done some things I am not good with but I think the Seaworld of today serves a better good. Peta just serves there coffers and there big mouths. Tilikum has fathered and grandfathered many whale calves, this is why they don't capture anymore. He does more good where he is but of course those jack asses couldn't agree to that. Tilikum has provided a future for Seaworld and Seaworld has become a good steward of the seas. I have first hand seen them riverside saving manatees entangled in fishing line and many turtle recues for the same and for tumors. They also have hatchery plans for Florida and one existing in California. Ever wonder whats behind the walls at Seaworld? Many pools with rescued animals that if possible will be released. Tilikum pays for all of that and a lot more that most people will never know about. I wonder if Peta considered the fact that removal of Tilikum and the others would be captures? It would seperate the offspring from there parents and grandparents. This is the only life and the only social group they have ever known. -
I was at the park last night and a new penguin exhibit can't come quick enough. It's gotten very bad in the stinky department. I would love to see the penguins be part of the ride with a non rider option like Manta. I kind of expect them to do that even though I have no knowledge of what they are building. A new coaster would be AWESOME, but it wont happen. The rumors we have heard are probably pretty spot on. I am surprised to hear the manatee exhibit will stay but it's cool to see a little more Florida wildlife in the park. I would love to see them do an estuary exhibit complete with rising and falling tides, that could be cool. A new dark ride will be a great addition though. I also hope the turle exhibit has some under water viewing.

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
dragonskeep replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I could see Cedar Point building a big Intamin woodie out there. At this point they almost have to build a wooden coaster, it's the obvious short fall in the park. They need a big smmoth airtime machine, no broken records just a great ride. -

We didn't even get to guess the new ride, how are we supposed to get excited about it. In the end they will over hype the ride experience and you won't actually die. It will bring you near death and then just not deliver. In case it does actually deliver as advertised, I suggest getting the other credits first. -
I was out there yesterday and had a real good time. The main plan was to get some more rides on Cheetah Hunt. With 20 minute waits I was able to get 7 rides in. Kumba was again one of the stars of the day. I went over to give it a spin and ended up not being able to leave. Stayed for an hour and rode 6 times. Kumba has it's lovers but I'm always surprised it doesn't get more love. Yesterday it was running great again, hitting the brakes hard enough that it could have probably made it through the whole course again. Sheikra needs paint but is just sooooo cool, I love BGT's coasters. Montu is from God and the baby Jesus. Folks!!!! See the lure run at Cheetah Run. Tyree, who is my special little kitty, was quite frisky yesterday and decided to make the run twice. The keeper said that is pretty rare but even the one run is worth seeing. I think it's better to stand left of the middle, there is an umbrella there so be early and be shaded. They usually run at 11:30 and they may only do it once a day. Screamscape has a rumor stating a Mach Tower could replace Sandstorm.

Grit your teeth, bake the load , enjoy your ride on...Thunder Road. Burma Shave. When I was a kid , this thing was a total blast. I think the hand slapping on racers is something we will probably litigate ourselves out of so get it while it's good. I love Gemini for that reason and the first drop.

NEW 2011 - X-Car Bayern Park Germany
dragonskeep replied to Tezee's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That looks pretty awesome to me. The speed is pretty much non stop. My dream TPR trip would be to Germany, I would love some ERT double rides on this. -
The weather for your trip should be pretty nice, as long as there isn't a hurricane, in which case you're screwed either way. I would do the Seaworld etc. trip. First off, it's a chance to get some new video, and that will have value. I get the impression you already have some Disney stuff. There are also other things to video within a very short driving distance. Star Flyer, Sling Shot, Skyventure, and much more are within a couple miles and are open late. Your unofficial other things to do on I-Drive guide. Seaworld is a very cool park in my opinion. If you enjoy animals, it will be a very good experience. The coasters are top notch and Journey to Atlantis is a good ride as well. The shows are what Seaworld is about. I like to see the last whale show of the day, it's a cool encore and the whales seem to be more playful. If I was making a video on Seaworld I would use a water proof casing and sit in the splash zone for Shamu's show. For splashing, the left and right sides are better. Blue Horizon's is cool for the blue and gold parrots and the finale, have your camera rolling and sit at least halfway up. Stingray feeding is something I do a lot, it's my tradition, and it's pretty freaky. The dolphin feeding is almost always to busy for me to still be having fun but it would make very cool video. All of the animal exhibits have under-water viewing, don't miss those. Penguins and Puffins smell bad. If you go to BGT my only concrete advice would be to see Cheetah Run and be ready to pan quickly. They have been doing it sometimes only once a day, usually at 11:30. Perhaps in October they will be running more so be sure to find out the times. She will come from the left and run to the end of the enclosure and back, it's not gonna take very long so be ready. Either choice would be fun, have a great time.

Cowabunga Bay waterpark
dragonskeep replied to montezooma's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Shane, this all looks amazing, great job by you and your crew. That an active member of this site has a park is just awesome. I somehow have just now found this thread but will be watching to see how it goes for you, best of luck. My guess for this year is a bowl slide with surf music and surf shack theming. "Cowabunga Surf Shack" baby. The Flowrider would add a bit more variety to the line-up so that seems like a great idea to me too. -

Turtles seem to screw around a lot. You guys are professional group photo models but it seems like someone is missing. -

That's a brutal decision to have to make, so sad, especially for the keepers. -

B&M vs Intamin

I miss El Toro. It amazes me that we have only one of those in the U.S. Maybe Cedar Point's 2013 ride will be wooden and pre-fabbed.
