  1. There were live gators on Montu, that was not a dream.
  2. I rode yesterday 7 times and it really is a fun ride. Finally got rides in the front and I like it a lot. It feels more frisky up there. A TPR trip n October could mean some awesome night time ERT. I rode at night in the front and it is pretty cool for sure. One thing though, the water in the canyon was not as forceful as it was before. It looks much cooler when there is some good flow through there. Gwazi Glders were taken apart, could be normal rehab I don't know.
  3. In 1989 My best freind and I were somehow permitted to drive from florida to Ohio for the opening of a mega coaster. I gladly waited 3 and a half hours for my first ride on Manum XL200. I haven't been to many ride openings but can't imagine anything better than that.
  4. I don't think removing the seatbelts is an unreasonable suggestion in theory. I think that most parks use the seatbelts to protect themselves from their guests. People do all kinds of stupid things on wooden coasters like stand up,turn around backwards and then die. I will reinerate that many coasters run fine with just seatbelts but some of these GCI coasters are getting quite twisty and may need the additional restraint.
  5. Can you imagine what a headache it is for a park to protect itself legally. I mean the playing field isn't fair. Get hurt at the park and don't know what to do? Just ask gary and freakin gary will get you an attorney and a doctor. That's fair.
  6. ^ An update every couple days would suffice for now but when real vertical construction starts we will need daily updates, thanks. You will be compensated with nothing and may often be ridiculed for not providing enough photos or the right angles but you would be taking one for the team. That satisfaction could carry you through the coming days.
  7. Cool deal Robb. This will be my first ever TPR experience and I'm really looking forward to it. I will be wearing the new Themeparkreview body stocking and a Millenium Force ball cap.
  8. I noticed a shark in the outer pool at Shark Encounter yesterday that I had never noticed before. It was about 6 feet long and more cheetah spot looking than anything It had long ridges down it's body. I was just wondering if they were holding it there for use at Discovery Cove. I looked it up and it is another of the zebra sharks mentioned in the press release. The shark itself is a very impressive looking critter but seems to lay low like a nurse shark.
  9. Great report. It made me want to go. I think Florida residents get the dolphin package as well for the 199.00 dollars
  10. I love Seaworld Orlando, just went yesterday and had a great time. The park is always delivered very well. After the new Shamu show the whales all hung out at the glass for a long time and it was really cool to see them hang out in a group like that. The coasters at Seaworld are a couple of my favorites. Kraken is a great ride, i don't know what the third element is called but it's one of my favorite elements on any ride. Finally getting used to the loop on Manta, can't imagine the pretzel loop getting any more intense than this one and Tatsu. I am getting a little addicted to it where in the beginning it just felt like my head would explode. I am a back of the train coaster rider and Manta delivers a phenomenal ride in the back, the front really yanks you through the course. Saw the dolphin show for the first time in a long time and it was mostly great. I don't really love the acrobat part of the show but the part where all the birds fly around makes up for it big time. I was only in the park for 4 hours and did quite a lot, 2 shows, 6 coaster rides, fed dolphins, fed self, fed self ice cream, hung out at the shark pool for a while, Manta's aquarium side and more. The beauty of having these places so close is you can just drop in after the heat of the day and spend a few casual hours in the park...and summer nights are coming.
  11. Trying to decide makes you remember how many great rides we have here. I would go with Haunted Mansion. Almost everyone can ride and will love it plus it's got to move huge amounts of people. Tower of Terror is literally perfect but it has a thrill ride component so many people don't get to experience it.
  12. I met several BGT staff on Cheetah Hunt opening day that could have used a little booing. That was my experience and I didn't give anyone a hard time about the ride not being open. I think at least in the Cheetah Hunt case you guys are giving the park a clean pass where they don't deserve one.
  13. I didn't know about a single rider line either. Where is it located.
  14. Yes it went with the flow and Cheetah Hunt goes against it. Busch Gardens got that canyon part perfect. The water rushing toward you I think is one of the best visuals ever on a coaster. I hope coaster builders and parks notice how effective that part of the coaster is and repeat it. Nemesis must be awesome.
  15. ^ The canyon is my favorite part of the ride. I would do a whole ride like that.
  16. They have done a lot of building out there lately and the Nutrition Center is on the way so we will probably have to wait for anything new. I think the dream of getting a hyper anywhere in Florida is not going to happen any time soon. I thought BGT would get one, it seemed like a natural fit but I dont see that in the near future now. Someone mentioned water rides and I agree that is the way to go next. Busch Gardens needs a good high capacity water ride, a highly themed flume would be a very good upgrade for the park. Although, recent projects have targeted kids and families so maybe an outright thrill ride will be next. They are even taking care of the zoo aspect by adding a couple animal attractions lately and the coming Nutrition Center.
  17. Hope you guys have a fun day. With school groups in the park it is normally busy. Don't spend all day deciding what to do and it is better to ride alone than not at all. Spidey, Dr Doom and Potter should all have single rider lines today, you should consider it if the park is crowded. You Louisiana folks should be right at home here in this heat, man it's hot.
  18. Thanks for the report, I am really enjoying the Cheetah Hunt Photos. The thing is just soo damn pretty. Adam, as soon as you can see Cheetah Run, it's incredibly cool. Very very brief but cool.
  19. I know for a fact that Top Thrill Dragster made me stupider.
  20. IOA is a great park, have a great time. And to review, don't miss any of the big rides and the water rides are all great but very wet. Single rider lines are your friend...and don't tell the whole world about it. It's amazing how much quicker these lines can get you on the rides. The one for Doom is in the arcade to the right of the ride, that door swings in enter with caution. Seriously people push right through that door coming opposite of you. Dr. Doom Is pretty fun, DO NOT HOLD ON. It also helps to eat at different times from everyone else and start at the back of the park.
  21. I knew a girl like you in high school. You sir are a filthy credit whore
  22. ^ If you can afford it get the Quick Queue if it's park season. The one I got at Great Adventure was 70 bucks and I felt like I was stealing. I saw " Tyree" I think run the Cheetah Run for the first time and it was awesome. Only Seaworld's Shamu shows ever really got me goose pimply until seeing that thing stretch out and run. I was surprised just how cool it was. Of course when they catch it they want to eat it and the keepers say it's fine to let them chew on it some . I will make a point to see it multiple times when at the park and would encourage you guys to check it out. Keep in mind it is Florida and sometimes it is to hot to run for a wad of feathers, don't boo, she's just a kitty. Cheetah Hunt is a nice addition to the park and very fun. All of the reviews are accurate and I would only repeat what others have said. A lot of smaller kids got to ride one hell of a roller coaster today and it was good to see that. Saw Jim Dean and was able to congratulate him on the ride, he was wearing a big smile and seems to be a top notch pro. Jim Wible, the guy who designed the tower and I talked about the mock up in Hungary and about choosing Intamin. Saw Sandor and he always looks like a kid in a candy store. Mostly a very cool day and the waiting for the ride was not very hard as there were folks to chat with and water and mistings. There were a lot of people who did good work today and just a few who seemed set on ruining the thing. I think Busch Gardens is very close to being perfect but they do have some bad apples in the mix. Lets just say not all of the blatant open rudeness came from guests today.
  23. ^^I feel love for you. Tough gig you got bro.
  24. This is the first time I have gotten a good look at the canyon section, they did a very nice job of re inventing that area. I would love to see the canyon be pretty dark at night.
  25. Thanks for the updates, the pictures are great. The Skyride is also looking awesome with all the new scenery, it will be a new experience. I am pretty excited about Friday, chance for a little moisture though. Anyone know BGT policy on running the rides in the rain.
