I'm calling it right now, Team Truckstop Love has a 0% chance of winning. Their sense of urgency seems to be about on par with Team Tuskegee. The only team that seems to be really into the "blind date" aspect of the show is Jackie and Jeffrey. For the sake of these contestants, I hope the producers don't get too heavy-handed with the "awkward forced romantic encounter" type of challenges later on in the show. The noodle challenge was lame enough already. The ice rink detour was pretty cool, though maybe just a little rigged in favor the Olympians.

So the blind date couples are doing well so far. I feel kind of bad for Blair, though. He doesn't seem very pleased about getting stuck with #TokenDitzyBlonde. They kind of remind me of Mark & Mallory from the last All-Stars season. lol I kind of expected to see more teams switch to the Sake challenge, especially after 20+ tries at the dance routine. I guess the two challenges were pretty far apart. Also, I actually kind of like the selfie cams, though it is a little weird to see the teams take selfies at the same time that they're already being filmed by the camera crew. I guess the producers are trying to make the show more "hip" with the "HashtagYoloTwitterTweens." Man, I feel old.

Half Life 3 confirmed! Oh wait, no, the next best thing! Meanier Streak, one can only hope....... though I'm still holding out for Wicked Twisted Wicked Twister. I know how Cedar Fair likes to tease fake rides, though, so it could still be an RMC dive machine. Btw, don't look up the word "meanier." Just pretend it means what you think it means.

It's been a while. I have the feeling I'll need to re-watch it to catch some of the references. Also, I'm really impressed with the cinematography. They're great at putting lots of little clues and symbolism everywhere, so I'll be watching closely for that (and by "watching closely," I mean reading about it from other people, people who are way more observant than I could ever hope to be. lol)

I just watched the first episode. I'm liking it so far. I didn't get the Cinnabon scene at first, and had to look it up to find out that it takes place after Breaking Bad. It's going to be interesting to see how they tie the pre and post-Breaking Bad storylines together.

The Ellen Degeneres Show Discussion Thread.

Ellen is producing a new show based on her hidden camera pranks. lol It seems like she might be less involved in this than she is with the furniture design competition thing, but I'm looking forward to it. -

Just as a movie, I thought it was really good, but it falls very much into the historical fiction genre. The biography by Andrew Hodges was a little dry for a straight-up film adaptation, but at least it was historically accurate. It was especially weird that the movie started off sort of almost touching on the subject of Turing's relationship with Arnold Murray, but then quickly abandoned those events to focus on some fictitious and overly-dramatized "Soviet spy" tangent instead. WTF was that about? Also, at some points I started to wonder if this was supposed to be about Alan Turing, or re-telling of "A Beautiful Mind" with a bit of "Sherlock" mixed in as fan service to the Cumberbitches. lol

It seems like every time I read a review for a movie adaptation of a musical, there's always "Part x was bad, but not like Russell Crowe bad." haha. I watched the 1991 recording of Into the Woods. The first act was really good, but the second act seemed to just drag on and on. Maybe I should have watched it in two sittings. I'm looking forward to seeing the new movie, though, especially for Meryl Streep.

I was so excited to see them come in first. I knew they'd have a good chance at a memory challenge right at the end. The next season sounds kind of lame, IMO, but I'll probably still watch it. All the teams are dating couples, and some of them are on blind dates, meeting for the first time at the start of the competition. First of all, this is supposed to be a show about traveling around the world, not The Bachelor. Second of all, it seems like the previously dating couples might have a bit of an unfair advantage, but meh, whatever keeps their ratings up, I guess.

Holiday World (HW) Discussion Thread

Just ordered mine. I've been waiting a long time for posters to show up in the Holishop. This one looks very cool -
I thought the episode in Singapore from a couple of weeks ago was really good. *spoilers ahead* I was really hoping to see the cyclists make it all the way to the end. They were definitely one of the strongest teams. That FlowRider challenge seemed so obviously rigged for the two surfers, though. I think the dentists or surfers have the best shot of winning at this point, and based on the way the show has been edited, the wrestlers have no chance of winning. Pretty much every shot of Brooke shows her complaining about something. The scientists have been one of my favorite teams since the beginning, so I'm hoping that they'll manage to pull ahead right at the end.

I really hope they're going to add a bit of decoration to the outside of that giant metal shack. It just looks kind of, umm... hideous. -

15 rows down on the first page of results, hehe http://www.dreamstime.com/royalty-free-stock-photos-water-slide-image225468 I do like KingRCT3's list of conditions, though. That's pretty much what I go by. The thing that scares me the most about this ride isn't the vertical drop or the 6 g loop, but the thought of being strapped in and not able to sit upright immediately at the end of the ride, right after having a bunch of water shoot up my nose. lol

If you constrained the raft by its four corners, you wouldn't even need a full tube. It could just slide down an open set of rails during the vertical drop! Then you could make it do a twist on the way down. At that that point, you'd basically have a pipeline coaster without wheels. Or you could add wheels and call it the world's first recumbent aqua bobsled coaster with a vertical drop. lol
