The rider is secured inside that raft capsule thing, so instead of lifting up off the slide you would just fall into the harness. Hopefully the capacity won't suffer too much as a result of the restraint system. Now what I really want to see is a "train"-style raft. Imagine the ejector air you'd get in the back of a 3-person raft!

That's way more awesome than I anticipated. If this actually gets built, I will be there on opening day. -
Never heard of "bacon jam." It sounds really good.

This looks fantastic. Since the layout is more spread out than Wild Eagle, it looks like it's going to have more of a woodsy atmosphere. The trees in the animations didn't really do it justice, IMO. I'm really looking forward to riding this at night. -

ROFL. They actually made "Orange is the New Track" into a shirt. This just made my day https://www.holidayworld.com/holiproduct/orange-new-track-t-shirt/ -

Here's the full-size concept art: image It looks like it's going to have some nice theming. I hope the ride isn't about to make a full 360 degree rotation in that pic, or else those riders are in for a nasty surprise -
Dreamfall Chapters, Part 1 comes out tomorrow. I've been looking forward to that one for quite a while. The Longest Journey was a great old-school adventure game. Some of the puzzles were a bit convoluted, and the sequel had some issues with controls, but the storytelling was really good in both games.

Kentucky Rumbler, and all the coasters at Indiana Beach When I got in line for Tig'rr (well, there wasn't a line, it was just me), but a couple of kids walked into the station behind me. Then the ride op tried to tell this random person's 8-9 year old child to sit in my lap, and I was like "Umm, yeah hellz no, that's definitely not going to happen. If they want to ride together, they can wait all of 20 seconds for the next train."

I'm glad I got to ride Demon Drop again. It's still one of my favorite drop rides, regardless of its kerckunkiness. I did not appreciate Hydra's kerckunkiness, though; that ride seriously needs some TLC. It looked like the water park was the main draw for most people at this park, since that's the only place where I saw any lines. Also, what's the story with the 2 adults max rule on the Wild Mouse? Have they been having maintenance issues with the ride or something? -

I was looking forward to visiting this place until I found out that they don't even have any plans for a scale replica of Matsya, the giant fish avatar of Vishnu, to go along with their historically accurate recreation of Manu's Ark; talk about a massive oversight. I'm afraid they won't be getting any of my money until they at least start selling plush Fishnu in their gift shop.

^^The food at Dollywood is really hard to beat. I'll have to make a few more trips to Knoebels before reaching a verdict -

What's the magic seat? They all seemed pretty "magical" to me. lol -
I just have to say, Marie was one of my favorite contestants from any season. She was clearly cast as the "villain" of season 23, and she did not disappoint. The dynamic between her and the other contestants was really entertaining to watch. I thought it was hilarious when she got the express pass and started trying to dangle it over everyone's heads if they'd help her. Then Nicole (like a total bawss) finally stood up to her and demanded the express pass, and Marie was just desperate enough at that moment to actually give it to her (in exchange for some really simple directions to the next location, which she probably could have figured out on her own. lol). I definitely want to see Marie return for an all-stars season (with Tim, I guess, but no one really cares about him. Marie basically just dragged him along, anyway.) Also, I think we were "supposed" to like Leo and Jamal, but I didn't. I thought they were obnoxious in season 23. They were ok in the All Stars Season 24, though, because they stopped focusing so much on being "characters" for the camera.

Does anybody else here watch The Amazing Race? The new season of the US version of the show just started last week. I go on the CBS website to watch them. Episode 1 For the most part I stopped caring about reality TV after Survivor season 2, but it's still cool to see the places that these people get to go (over the course of about a month, I think), even if the challenges are sometimes kind of lame / low-budget. There were some complaints last season that the finale was somehow rigged to allow the team with the best back-story to win, but I'm kind of skeptical of that, lol. I know at least the camera crew definitely isn't allowed to interact with the teams in any way that might give them an advantage. It's pretty obvious that the show is edited in such a way that they make someone out to be the "villain" or the "hero," but I guess that's true of all reality TV these days.

There's a difference between agreeing to "I'm going to kick you in the balls," and agreeing to "I'm going to allow these guys to inflict unspecified acts of violence upon you, and only I get to decide when you've had enough." The owner says he warns them beforehand of what they're going to endure, but the people in that video still seemed surprised by how far the violence ended up going once they got in there. The owner does bring them outside every once in a while to make sure they're ok to continue, but unless there's a safe word while they're inside the "haunt," (and his comments on Youtube seem to suggest there's not) this thing doesn't seem quite as "consensual" as he thinks it is. -

So it sounds like you sign a waiver that lets them literally punch you in the face against your will? These people have problems, both the actors and the visitors. Seriously, wtf -

I managed to keep my hands up in the wing seats a couple of times, but I had to brace myself through the twists by keeping my legs straight out in front of me. It's actually a pretty good workout. -

Most of the rides I had on Skyrush were surprisingly rough, except for the very front row. I would rank Fahrenheit as my fav in the park, and Sidewinder as my top pick to be dismantled and replaced with a Johnny Rockets. -

Personally, I can subjectively say that Lightning Run is the best coaster I've ridden. I'd prefer not to reverse-engineer my own brain, though, and simply conclude that "I like it a lot." You may quote that in your dissertation, sir. I just have to say the amount of selection bias in this thread, along with your attempt to derive a formula for the mystical quantity of "objective betterness," are kind of hilarious. It's certainly an entertaining read, though, and I'm looking forward to seeing how closely you can get your formulas to trend toward the Mitch Hawker poll data. You should make some comparison graphs.
