Best Theme Park Chain
Jon Sabo replied to vertgforces's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This is actually a tough call because each chain possesses some good strengths and have some weak areas as well. In terms of "overall" chain I would choose BEC (Busch Parks). I know I am very biased here, but I chose this chain because of management (overall), atmosphere (for family), beauty-landscape, (some) food, cleanliness, ride selection & quality. I won't add the friendliness, because that would be an area for inprovement (most of the park chain), but the safety and 'overall' operations of the park(s) is quite solid. -

The markings are quite possibly similar to the BGE 07 project. Orange markings can indicate either: undergound electrical conduit and/or some sort-of propane lines. The yellow markers may indicate any phone service lines (blue lines are usually water-type piping). Perhaps the track/supports starting to show up in the B&M (Ohio factory) lot maybe for this ride (or the BGE -ride). A friend told me the track was a "faded" beige-orange color and a couple of supports showed up (painted and unpainted)-some supports showing a grey-silver color (perhaps the primer-base). I stated this on the BAZ site. -

Yeahhhhhhh!!! The great "zero-car" debate is DEAD!..lol Now we can go on with our lives (except for the purists who think DF was designed by B&M..lol). Great interview!

Inspector:'Are you the person who tried to burn the SOB?' Guest: "No Sir. I didn't know SOB was a ride, I thought you were referring to my mother-in-law." *Two notes in reference to my original post. 1. I wonder if it was a bad wheel bearing or the gearbox could have had some issue (overheating). 2. I heard from a couple of people that have ridden the ride recently that it actually is alot smoother now (retracking of the helix-sections) anyone can confirm? -
BGE-Big Bad Wolf slogan was: "Travel at the Speed of FRIGHT". And how can 6 Flags copy BG when the BBW was built in 84 and even had a trademark/patent on that slogan for 3 yrs....lol

Nice photos! Now damn if that pic doesn't make me hungry..lol Perhaps CF can change the Hydra name now 1. Hurcules-The Revenge (back..lol) 2. Snoopy meets 5 Dragon heads 3. The Nickelodeon X-press * I love it when it rains at a park sometimes (not a heavy rain thought), because the park(s) are nearly empty and besides getting wet you can experience virtually NO lines...wheeeeee!

^^ That debate will always appear to be whoever believes what they want..lol B&M did not in anyway design or build DF. I worked there during that time since '83 even and there was no correlation between DF and B&M. That debate started on p. 5 on this : http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21005&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=drachen+fire&start=40 Jamor is correct. All of these are just "rumors". Expect an official announcement near end of summer (around mid-to-end of August) or before BGE Holloween event. There is proof that B&M/BEC (Corporate) has a 5 yr. contract on the DM's in the US markets and we can go off of that "assumption". **Thanks for submitting the credit to the author of the picture link you posted. It's only fair that he gets the credit since he was the one who provided the pic on that site. It would be the same if someone else took credit for another person(s) video or pic, its just not right. -

Here is a report from local media outlet: "A fire scare shuts down a ride Sunday afternoon at Kings Island. Park officials say two guests reported a smell of smoke on the Son of Beast ride. There was no sign of fire.. but firefighters were called as a precaution. The ride was inspected, and no source of smoke was found. The ride was operational by 5:35 Sunday afternoon." http://www.wkrc.com/news/local/story.aspx?content_id=29DE955C-EDD5-42CF-89DB-394DD2AB7FB4 I'm sure some enthusiasts out there wished SOB had caught on fire (lol), but at least it wasn't serious and no guests injured. -

Are we starting another thread on this topic? I am getting confused on which thread to go off of now because we already have a couple of open topics on the BGE-'07 project. 1. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=23186&highlight=busch+gardens 2. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21549&highlight=busch+gardens **The picture posted is from "fergusonat" at the BAC (Busch Adventure Community) site (unless you are the person going under his/that name). I feel it would only be proper to give the author credit for the picture posted on the link you provided. I am also a member of that site and and his posting is as follows: 1. http://www.buschadventure.com/Forums/index.php?showtopic=142&st=300 -

Blackpool Pleasure Beach
Jon Sabo replied to JayJ's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Is this the same park that both the general manager/owner and his mother (or grandmother) past away? (Thompson last name?). I'm wondering what the future (direction) of the park will become. A rumor floating around was a new Intamin prototype, but haven't heard anything else since. I hope they can get back in the "spotlight" again soon. The park seems rather quiet these days or perhaps just recovering from the losses of those dynamic people. -
I hope the syrup from the waffles doesn't slow down the ride too much. It will be quite a site to see hot babes covered in syrup....oh wait....this is a PG-13 site..lol

Yes, I would like a plate-full of waffles with a side order of Lentil soup, some drywall biscuits, cornbread, radioactive kool-aid, and a donkey-split for desert! Thanks

Best Florida Coaster?
Jon Sabo replied to EuroTre's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have already posted my top coaster(s) in Fl. for this thread, but I would like to point out that I have noticed there are ALOT of references to "KUMBA"..lol I'm not sure if everyone is actually voting on it, but the responses (on Kumba) appear to be quite high. It really depends on each of our individual tastes/preferences. I just feel that the overall ride quality, theming, the layout, and quality elements make Kumba a perfect choice. Also, it has a tunnel, a helix (sort-of) and the loop going "around" the lift is quite impressive, not to mention how it goes over and under guests (bridges) as the photo opportunities it has. -
About a year (or so) ago, there was a story posted on A-B (Amusement Business) that Ghost Town in the Sky was to receive a new lease on life and a new owner was to invest (about) $10-15 million or so into the park and ressurect their (OD-Hopkins) coaster as well as other attractions. Some of the investment was to include a series of small flat rides, an S&S ride (tower), and a flume-water ride. I wonder if the park is even currently open or not-anyone know? I knew there could have been an issue with the insurance, but not sure on specifics. The last set of pics I have seen (the coaster) is in complete shambles I found a link to the site, but there also was a new website designed and cannot find the link. *Anyone else (even near the area) know what is the progress on the park? Also, what is the new website link.
